There’s something wild about having to reconcile the artist inside with the Spirit of God. The sparks that come from the struggle are flickers that can ignite a fire around the world. Being a worship leader has its challenges, but there’s something special about being on the frontlines of what God is doing. It’s dangerous. God makes it that way; it’s a chase after eternity. I want to talk about church worship, creativity, and the reality of leading people in worship through music. Let's journey together as worship leaders and worshipers of Jesus.
The last episode of the Thoughts of a Dying Worship podcast comes at a difficult time in our world and in America, my home country. For the church, the search for stability in the present and a vision for the future is beginning to feel overwhelming. This reminds me of 2 Chronicles 20 and maybe changes the why behind writing this book all together. If a move of God is coming, I want to be close enough to Him to see it. www.jordanabina.com
I believe Jesus is the crack in the glass between eternity and the temporal. Every word He says is an invitation, the question for us is have we taken Him up on the life he offers? As a worship leader, a Christian, and a church goer, have we looked at Jesus and His words as from another place? What would change if we did?For more visit www.jordanabina.com
This word, greatness, gets us into a lot of trouble. Do we know what it means? Isn't it strange that the human race craves it but can't seem to attain it, at least not for long? It doesn't matter who you are and what you do, greatness is a part of life. Good news, Jesus has some thoughts worth listening to.For more visit www.jordanabina.com
Imagine your walking with the resurrected Lord, Jesus Christ, and you and Him are talking about your life. Jesus is asking you is you love Him, and you of course are answering yes. Then, because you have a brain collapse, you turn your attention to the person behind you and start asking questions about them, which turns out to be something Jesus isn't a fan of. Why is it we so easily take our eyes of Jesus and onto what others have or who others are? For more visit www.jordanabina.com
Jesus, the creator of the universe, spent most of His time of ministry hanging out with 12 dudes from around His hometown. Doesn't that seem weird to you? In the narrative of the Savior of the world, would you ever believe that He would spend time talking, eating, and conversing with His own creation? Well, He did. Why? What did Jesus hope to accomplish by spending so much time with people and what did He want them to know? It's a picture into how God feels about people and a call to discipleship. What does excellence mean to you? Excellence was a word I ran into as a young man and have always wrestled with the realities of it and whether or not I'll be able to know if something is or isn't excellent. I believe that excellence is possible but if we're not careful the chase after excellence is a route away from God. God is who makes things excellent in our lives. Let's look a little closer at that word together. For more visit www.jordanabina.com
It's one of the most debated questions in and around the church? What is worship? Well on this episode of the Thoughts Of A Dying Worship Leader podcast I'll be looking past that question and into they why behind worship. Ever thought about why God made worship an element to our lives in the first place? That's a better question to explore. For more visit www.jordanabina.com
When it comes to your relationship with Jesus, would you say you've arrived at Him, or do you abide in Him? This question bubbled up from inside of me after a life-changing experience in Jerusalem. It was an experience as close to Indiana Jones as you could possibly get. Little did I know all that Jesus was going to say to me through it. I look forward to sharing it with you. Let's go! Are our churches a place that's attractive to the artist? Have you ever thought about how magnificent it is that churches are practically loaded with them? I believe God wants to help make more room for the artists who are giving their lives to Jesus Christ, and I'm believing the the Spirit of God is ushering in a generation that will bring ALL generations together. Also in this episode I talk about tall-tees. It's good.
The talk about being a creative is all the rage right now, have you noticed that? I see it especially in the church and among worship leaders. I love the discussion and I love the things it' stirring up in people. I want to go deep into that, into what it means to express creativity and where that desire comes from. To think we worship the creator of the universe is a really really big thought. As worship leaders, we are taking people into moments of experiencing God's presence on a weekly basis. But what about you, the leader? While others are potentially satisfied standing on the edge of Him, you're not. You were made to search for the eternal things of God.For more visit www.jordanabina.com
I was standing on the church worship stage and there was 1 minute left on the countdown. In 60 seconds I would be leading a group of a few hundred people into worship; the only problem was that 60 seconds was more time then I had spent in the Lord's presence in the last 7 days. What happened shifted my heart towards the Father and help me to feel the pull of the gravity of grace. For more visit www.jordanabina.com
Author Jordan Abina takes us to the frontlines of a battle, but it's not the type we're accustomed to. Instead, this battle is fought with worship, literally. Imagine waking up knowing you were going to war against thousands and the only thing you were able to bring was an instrument...how would you feel about your chances?
