In this episode, Patrick Teahan, MSW, is joined by personality psychologist William Todd Schultz to explore the complicated emotional landscape of family estrangement and how early childhood loss intersects with creative expression.Todd specializes in profiles of artists and has published books such as Tiny Terror on Truman Capote, An Emergency in Slow Motion on Diane Arbus, Torment Saint on Elliott Smith, and The Mind of the Artist. Together, they detail how childhood trauma and the death of an estranged toxic family member elicit complex forms of grief. They introduce the concept of ambiguous loss and how individuals use creative mediums to process unresolved family systems issues. The episode begins by unpacking a complex dynamic: the dual reality of an abusive sibling being both a perpetrator and a victim within a dysfunctional family hierarchy. Patrick and Todd use this concept to illustrate why survivors often experience a muted emotional response when an estranged family member physically passes, as the psychological passing of the relationship occurred long ago.Listeners will learn:Ambiguous Loss and Estrangement: What it truly means to experience the death of a toxic sibling and why a blank emotional response is a valid reaction to long-standing estrangement. The Dysfunctional Hierarchy: A look at multigenerational trauma and how abusive family members are often both perpetrators and victims.Creative Adaptation: How individuals with artistic inclinations use creative mediums to mentally conjure and process a lost relationship.Resurrecting in Fantasy: The psychological process of resurrecting the deceased through art to form a new and manageable dynamic that buffers the trauma of the loss.Historical Perspectives on Creativity: An exploration of the mid-century Berkeley psychological assessments on creative writers and how the field quantifies creative and psychological traits.Patrick and Todd also provide insights into meaning-making and grief-related growth, encouraging listeners to understand how modern psychological frameworks apply to these complex forms of grief. By understanding how trauma shapes personality, survivors can begin to safely set boundaries and use creative outlets for self-preservation and healing. Keywords: childhood trauma, family estrangement, ambiguous loss, creative expression, meaning-making, multigenerational trauma, grief-related growth, personality psychology, toxic family systems, boundary setting. In this episode, we present the "Healing Romance, Resurrecting Marriage" conference, which took place on April 25th, 2026 at the Thompson Conference Center in Austin, Texas. The purpose of the conference was to shed light on the anthropology that lies at the basis of our current understanding of relationships, romance, and marriage. While the institution of marriage continues to be praised by some and opposed by others, very few people are attentively looking at the way young people, both men and women, understand themselves before entering a romantic relationship. With a series of talks, Q&A sessions, and a final panel, our excellent invited speakers addressed some of the positive and negative myths about romantic relationships, family life, and marriage, while uncovering the real struggles and the true benefits that come from the institution, both for the couple and for society at large.
Today we're looking into Jesus and his miracles. We'll look at what a miracle is, all of the alleged miracles of Jesus, see what doubters say, and other interesting facts... WELCOME TO RELIGION CAMP!

Daily Soap Opera Spoilers by Soap Dirt (GH, Y&R, B&B, and DOOL)
Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt Days of Our Lives spoilers stun as EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) shock everyone with the miraculous resurrection of Lexi Carver (Renee Jones). The unexpected appearance of Lexi, who was presumed dead for 15 years, leaves her family and friends in disbelief. DOOL spoilers indicate that EJ and Rolf's controversial medical procedure may land them in Statesville Prison as they potentially face criminal charges. Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) could push for these charges, adding another layer of tension to the dramatic storyline. Lexi's brother Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews) and father Abe Carver (James Reynolds) are overwhelmed to see her alive, though her sudden collapse and subsequent hospital stay stirs up more trouble. Spoilers for Days of our Lives suggest that Paulina, feeling sidelined, might seek revenge on EJ for disrupting her marriage and blackmailing her. DA Belle Black (Martha Madison) might be persuaded to charge EJ for the chaos he's caused. The legal team of EJ asserts they can manage the situation, but the potential charges of desecrating a corpse, unlicensed human experimentation, and theft of public utilities may prove to be challenging. Episode Topic: Resurrecting JusticeFor centuries, the dominant concept of justice in the West has been the constant will to render another his due. The Bible, though, contains a different way of thinking about justice: comprehensive right relationship. This justice affirms what is due, or rights, but also proffers duties that exceed due such as mercy, hospitality, care, forgiveness and reconciliation. Retrieving this justice, which the classical concept has overswept, holds out promise for politics today in matters ranging from the protection of life, to immigration, to healing the wounds of racial injustice.Featured Speakers:Daniel Philpott, Professor of Political Science, University of Notre DameRead this episode's recap over on the University of Notre Dame's open online learning community platform, ThinkND: https://go.nd.edu/30143e.This podcast is a part of the ThinkND Series titled Faith and Philosophy. Thanks for listening! Send a textTim Seward built a 65 MPH electric moped in his garage to one-up his buddies. People wouldn't stop asking where to buy it. So he started Onyx Motors, raised almost a million bucks on Indiegogo in 3 hours… then sold the company for $1. When his successor died unexpectedly, Tim came back to rebuild from scratch. If the title feels aggressive, good—I'm actually back, bitches, and I missed the living sh*t out of this. It's 2026, and we are officially done with the era where work equals suffering; the only sane option left is to turn your business into a masterpiece. In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on my radical healing journey, why I killed "Payday with Rayray" to launch Work of Art, and how you can survive the current "trust recession" by treating your brand like world-building. Buckle in, because I'm about to show you how to resurrect your inner artist and get paid for your creative genius before I peace out for motherhood (yep, there's a baby bump involved). Here's a glance at what you'll learn from me in this episode: The Rebrand: Why I shifted from "Payday" to "Work of Art" and why treating your business like an art project is the secret to longevity. The "Trust Recession": Why buyers are skeptical, why connection is the only currency that matters in 2026, and how to build it through a screen. World Building: How to view your personal brand like a fantasy novel (think Harry Potter) to create a community that people never want to leave. The Root System: Why most people fail at branding by focusing on the fruit (money/content) instead of the roots (who you intrinsically are). The Big Announcement: The details on my pregnancy, my upcoming RETIREMENT, and why this is your last chance to work with me. Timestamps: 00:00 - Introduction 00:53 - Aggressively returning to the podcast and the table flip of 2023. 03:42 - Why work can be your heaven or your hell, and choosing to make it art. 09:00 - Resurrecting your inner artist 14:50 - The irony of my financial success 18:24 - The Trust Recession: Why shortcuts are destroying influence and how connection saves it. 21:25 - Personal Branding as World Building: Creating a universe for your community. 23:50 - Creator Catalyst: The mastermind for the face of the business. 27:55 - The Plot Twist: I'm pregnant, expecting in May, and retiring (again). More than 25 years since TWIN PEAKS was unceremoniously taken off the air by ABC, the series was resurrected for a third season by creators David Lynch and Mark Frost. The result is TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN, an 18-hour cinematic event that many consider to be Lynch's magnum opus. Fire Shock With Me is back to guide you through every surreal moment of this landmark television achievement. Before we dive into the premiere, this introductory episode explores the long, winding road to the 2017 revival. We take a deep dive into how TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN actually came to be, analyzing the decades of rumors, the false starts, and the intense negotiations that nearly saw David Lynch walk away from the project. From the "I'll see you in 25 years" prophecy to the final green light at Showtime, we're breaking down the history of the show's resurrection. TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN is finally here, and this is just the beginning. While this introductory deep dive is available to everyone, the rest of the season — featuring our episode-by-episode recap and analysis — is exclusive to members of CinemaShock+. "It is a sparkling thing when I encounter realness of another person… When this happens, I leap to meet it." – Carl Rogers Carl Rogers is one of the most influential—and often misunderstood—figures in psychology. In this episode, Lisa returns to Rogers' own words and teachings to explore what he was truly inviting clinicians to embody. Through a nervous-system-informed lens, this conversation highlights how authenticity, presence, and self-acceptance create the conditions for felt safety and relational connection. Lisa explores why Rogers' emphasis on "realness" isn't just philosophical—it's deeply regulatory, shaping how clients experience safety, attunement, and healing in the therapeutic relationship. Some of what emerges may challenge what you thought you knew about Rogers and deepen how you understand the embodied foundations of effective therapy. In this encore episode of Rapid Response, we revisit a scientific breakthrough that set the internet ablaze: The ‘de-extinction' of the dire wolf. While many celebrated Colossal Biosciences' announcement, the experiment also sparked controversy throughout the scientific community — namely the ethics of birthing and re-wilding extinct animals, and whether Colossal's dire wolf puppies are the real thing. Colossal's co-founder and CEO Ben Lamm joined host Bob Safian to take us inside the dire wolf journey, revealing how the startup attracted a roster of celebrity investors, and what the company's technology means for not only conservation and biodiversity, but potentially the future of human health. As we head into the holidays, many of us will encounter old memories and create new ones. You may spend time recounting stories from your childhood, learning a new line dance, or even taking orders in the kitchen on how to make a family recipe. Memory-keeping has long been a practice for humans across the globe, but for Black people, those traditions look different. And in the age of technology, the way memories are created, stored, and used introduce a new set of questions around who gets to call them their own. This week we're joined by Dr. Tonia Sutherland. Currently a professor and dean at UCLA, she’s dedicated her research to unpacking the uniqueness of Black memory work. And in her book, ‘Resurrecting the Black Body: Race and the Digital Afterlife,’ she digs into how technology, history, and data longevity affect how we practice archivism, and how those practices impact our digital afterlives.
