Be inspired as you listen to Maggie share how she has learned to be a better person through adversity. In Maggies own words "I got pregnant when I was 17 and a senior in high school. I dropped out, got my GED, and pursued placing my baby for adoption through LDS Social Services. I found her wonderful parents, met them, and I knew that my baby was meant to be theirs. Placing her for adoption was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done even though I knew it was right. In 2016, my then-husband moved me and my 3 little ones back into my parent's house. I found out I was pregnant with our 4th child. At 10 weeks pregnant and right before Christmas, I went into the ER because I couldn’t walk on my leg and it was red and painful. I had massive spontaneous blood clots in my groin, all through my leg, and in my uterus. My doctors told me to prepare for miscarriage but that I was lucky to be alive. After 3 days in the hospital, I was able to go home. 2 weeks after that, my husband came home and told me that no part of him was happy that I was pregnant, that he never loved or respected me, and that he wanted a divorce. That night I started to pray. I specifically remember climbing out of bed and kneeling the best I could on my swollen leg, sobbing so hard I almost couldn’t breathe... I begged Heavenly Father for forgiveness, for comfort, that my baby would live. I prayed for what felt like hours. I’ll never forget at 4 am when I felt warmth cover me from head to toe, the sobbing slowed down, and I heard in my mind the words to the Hymn “How Firm A Foundation” - “Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed.” At the time, I didn’t realize the words were a scripture and not just a song. Isaiah 41:10 ♥️If you are going through something really tough, please don’t give up. Asking for help was hard, but I am so glad I did. Please remember that what you’re going through and feeling is valid and you deserve to feel peace in your life. Please remember that the people who truly love you will treat you in a way that you don’t have to wonder if they do. Please remember that no matter how you feel, you are never alone. Please, speak up and ask for help. There are so many people who want to help you and see you succeed. Counseling with a counselor will help even when you think it won’t.

"As I laid there, looking up at the blue sky, I felt numb. But I also felt peace. I couldn't believe everything that had happened to me, but more than that, I knew I had been given another chance at life. I knew it wasn't time for me to die. And that is where I knew that my life MUST have a great purpose, for God to save me.Little insignificant me, at 12 years old, with a crude prayer and no direction... mattered to Him.I have reflected on this sacred experience time and time again. It is my own personal scriptures, as I believe most of our past traumas can be."Additional Resources Connect with Melisa's coaching content in her Women's facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/2239709656292481/Or her website at:www.melisakeenan.comIntimacy can be broken down into 3 words: Into-me-see. Join your host Kimberly Landeen as she goes overThe genesis of how this podcast was formed. What you can expect from the episodes. How you can get involved.Dear Community Members,I am so excited to begin this journey with you! As you will hear more about in this week’s episode; I feel a deep sense of duty to make more accessible the stories of our Facebook community with all the tools and testimonies they contain. With very little background in Podcasting but with a conviction in the stories that needed to be shared, I have moved forward with faith. Please be patent with me as we work out the kinks and the technical side of things. I feel like there is so many imperfections and things that need to be reworked, I could take another month to complete them. However, I feel like it is more important to begin sharing stories than it is to make sure things are perfect before we launch. My prayer is that as we begin this journey together that your faith in God will be strengthened and you will find strength in the stories to get through the bumps of this life. With a deep love for you and our community, Kimberly Landeen
