We return with a brand new Geektown Radio podcast this week and, as usual, have lots of tv news, renewals & cancellations and other UK TV air date information, plus an interview with some of the guys from amazing VFX company, Phosphene FX.We sat down with Steven Weigle and Aaron Raff for a chat about the incredible VFX work they do at Phosphene FX. Based in New York, Phosphene is responsible for enhancing many of the TV shows and films we watch today. You may have seen their work - or rather seen, but not noticed their work - in 'The Greatest Showman', 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel', 'Boardwalk Empire', 'Mr. Robot', 'Billions', 'The OA', 'Bourne Legacy', 'The Adjustment Bureau', 'The Deuce' and many many more films and shows. Phosphene specialises in creating elaborate CG environments and set extensions (as well as its fair share of blood and gore), so it’s extremely likely you may have seen some of their work on tv or film and not realised it was CGI.Their latest project was ‘The Looming Tower’, which you can watch right now on Amazon Prime UK. The 10-episode is an adaptation of Lawrence Wright's 2006 book that tells the controversial story of the rivalry between the CIA and FBI during the rising threat of Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda that inadvertently might have set the stage for the tragedy of 9/11 and the war in Iraq. Also On This Week's Show:Matt returns to the co-host seat so we chat gaming, tv shows, and movies including 'Homeland', 'Farcry 5', 'Lost In Space', and 'Legion'.We take a look at all the latest tv & film news, including Colton Haynes return to 'Arrow', USA Network's new pilots, and Anson Mount joining ‘Star Trek: Discovery’.We give you our recommendations for upcoming TV in the next 7 days. Tom and Scott review the new Matt Damon film 'The Adjustment Bureau', about a mysterious group of individuals who work to change the fate of an up and coming politician who falls in love with a girl he is not destined to be with. Our hosts discuss the film's metaphysical take on freewill vs. destiny and its pop spirituality view of a God who is nothing like the God of Biblical Christianity.
