In this episode, we explore complex familial relationships through a listener's struggles with anger and resentment towards their mother. I stress the importance of free will in decision-making and the need for personal accountability in addressing difficult emotions. We discuss the role of community in marital issues, using Stephen Crowder's divorce as a lens, and examine how societal values shape relationship choices.Additionally, we touch on the influence of religion and philosophy on moral development and the implications of biohacking and longevity on emotional connections. Finally, we consider the effects of parentlessness and societal structures on fertility rates, encouraging listeners to actively engage with their relationship complexities and submit questions for future exploration.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025
Tally Koren arrived in London with 1 suitcase and a dream in the late 90th, and against all odds became an international Singer - Songwriter. Despite family objections and countless music business rejections, what kept her going was, turning every minus to plus, taking every refusal to become better, and every hard situation to do something good to herself and others. Her turning point to fulfil her childhood dreams and to become a singer happened at the age of 26, while she was in a very un-happy marriage.A singing teacher immediately recognised her talent and thought that her low voice is reminding of Karen carpenter. In 2007 Tally made the decision to make her first album and not to wait for the record company.Despite one of the top radios plugger telling her that she doesn't have a chance to make it nationally being over 40. She made the choice to listen to the words of her song “Beauty of The Duty “saying “the only thing that holds you back is you”. Her song became a National success on the BBC radio 3 weeks later. Dr. Jacob Barandes is a professor of Physics at Harvard University who studies the foundations of physics. He has emerged as a leading skeptic of the idea that our universe is somehow fundamentally mathematical in nature, marking a full cycle of more than two thousand years of ink spilled about the nature of the universe. Barandes has found that there is a way of modeling the basement membrane of reality as being made of bodies with location, where everything from superposition to electricity and magnetism are a product of the motions of these bodies. Our conversation spans the basic principles that Barandes has used to arrive at this conclusion, the vital role that confusion over what constitutes a “measurement” plays in producing a highly paradoxical interpretation of nature, and the fact that this debate about the nature of the universe - substance versus mathematics - has been raging for more than two thousand years, with no end in sight. The psalmist describes the words that he directs to God as “freewill offerings of [his] mouth.” But it is the words that God directs to us that put the “freewill” in our mouth-offerings and make them pleasing to him.Music Credit: Johann Sebastian Bach, Trio from Brandenburg Concerto, No. 1, Movement 4

Heresies and idolatries come and go. The idolatry that titillated the ancients no longer excites modern men. The heresies that revolutionized the world a century ago no longer resonate. Any heresy is a repudiation of God, and thus is bound to vaporize like a puff of smoke. Falsehood cannot endure for long, and eventually all heresies dissipate. But a fixture of our world is the balance required to facilitate free will. When one heresy dies, another must take its place. Our sages tell us that the last heresy preceding the Messianic redemption is the repudiation of Free Will. In the third and final installment of my grandfather's chapter on Free Will, we study the nature of this heresy and the mechanism by which the good and evil inclinations are balanced.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, even though they knew it would lead to death, the Second Adam, the Lamb of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, practiced total submission to God's Word in the garden of Gethsemane, knowing full well it would lead to His death on a Roman cross…a cross that He did not deserve…but a cross that would break the curse of sin that began so long ago when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit.Support the showThanks for listening! Show Notes: Gideon Yaffe and his then girlfriend-now wife, Sue Chan, drove across the country after graduation to San Francisco, where they had no jobs or prospects. Gideon had applied to graduate school in philosophy but didn't get in anywhere. They got married and his first job was at a pet store, Gideon worked there for a while, then at a computer magazine. Studying Philosophy at Stanford While hanging out in San Francisco, he started reading Proust's Remembrance of Things Past, which he loved and found to be hugely rewarding. This inspired him to apply to grad school again and this time his application was accepted in a lot of places. He decided to study philosophy at Stanford, where he met Michael Bratman, a professor who worked on philosophy of action and related questions about the nature of action, agency, and intention. Gideon also became interested in the history of philosophy and wrote a dissertation about John Locke and contemporary problems related to the Free Will problem. Gideon went on the job market in academia. He got some interviews but didn't get a job. The following year, he got a one-year job at UCSD. His wife, Sue, was working in the film industry, so they moved to LA and he commuted down to San Diego. Tenure at the University of Southern California He finally secured a tenure track job at the University of Southern California (USC) in 1999 and taught Philosophy of Law classes. He wrote a paper about addiction, which he found interesting due to his knowledge of addicts and interest in freedom and addiction and how addiction would undermine freedom. When a friend of Gideon's was a victim of a carjacking incident, he became interested in the legal problem at the center of many carjacking cases that revolves around intention, so he wrote a paper about conditional intention. Gideon explains how carjacking differs from car theft, and the paper questioned whether a conditional intention was enough for the crime when the statute called for unconditional intention. Gideon felt that philosophy of law was important to work on but he needed to know more about the law, so he coerced USC into giving him a year in the law school. Gideon recounts his experience as a law student and how it led to teaching law in law school. Collaborating on a Neuroscience and Legal Proceedings Think Tank The MacArthur Foundation launched the law and neuroscience project, which aimed to bring together various people from philosophy, law, and neuroscience to discuss the relevance of neuroscience to legal proceedings, particularly in criminal law. Gideon was invited to be part of this think tank. During this time, he collaborated with neuroscientists on various problems and experiments related to neuroscience that could be useful to the legal system. This led to a desire to learn more about neuroscience and he pursued a grant to support the project. He spent another year as a neuroscience student at Cal Tech which allowed him to learn a lot about neuroscience. Gideon also started writing a book about attempted crimes. Gideon talks about the importance of understanding the double failure of attempts, and inherent impossible attempts. He highlights the number of cases where individuals seem incapable of committing crimes. Gideon received a job offer from Yale University after being a part of the MacArthur think tank and his book. He decided to take the position and he and his family moved to New Haven. Neuroscience, Law, and GenAI Intentions Gideon talks about the challenges faced by those who attempt to escape the harsh realities of the criminal justice system. His experiences highlight the importance of understanding the factors that contribute to attempted crimes. The conversation turns to Gideon's involvement in generative AI and the potential of AI intentions. He is currently working on a project with neuroscientist Uri Maoz, which aims to understand, for example, the difference between self-driving cars and drones in terms of intentions. Another project involves a group funded by billionaire Sergey Brin, who has a daughter with severe autism. The group aims to build AI models of the brain of a person and use the model to see how it responds to various forms of surgery. AI, Consciousness, and Intentions Organizing Behavior Gideon discusses the concept of AI consciousness. Gideon states that a lot depends on how consciousness is defined. One understanding is that consciousness involves self-representation of certain kinds of thoughts. He suggests that understanding consciousness depends on what one thinks about it. One way of understanding consciousness involves self-representation of certain kinds, such as having a second-order thought about the thought. If that's all that's required for consciousness, then these LLMs can be conscious. Another way of understanding consciousness involves qualia, or ways of feeling, such as experiencing a particular sensation or feeling something. However, he acknowledges that it is difficult to know exactly what it is like to be an LLM or a toaster. He acknowledges that there are some similarities between the two, but acknowledges the challenges in determining their exact roles in AI and neuroscience. Gideon explains that intentions serve to organize behavior in various interesting ways. For example, if an AI has intentions, they can make decisions now so they don't have to think about them later. This is relevant for coordinating behavior with each other, as well as interpersonal organization. The question of whether AIs have intentions is more tractable than the question of whether they are conscious. Intentions play a crucial role in various aspects of law, such as contract interpretation and legal texts. Understanding the intentions of AI and their potential impact on these areas is essential for understanding the future of AI and its applications in various fields. Updating Law to Address AI Intention The conversation explores the need to rewrite laws or update them to address the issue of intention in AI. Gideon states that the intention of a person or AI and the textual language, and the interpretation of the text are all areas that need to be explored. The project Gideon is working on aims to determine the intentions of AI by examining the role their representation plays in guiding their behavior. Gideon suggests that the question is whether inferences can be made about AI's intentions by looking at the role the representations plays from the AI behavior. Gideon talks about a project on criminal activity and neuroscience that he is proud of. Leniency and Child Criminality Gideon goes on to talk about leniency and child criminality. He argues that the reason to give a break to kids who engage in criminal behavior is disenfranchisement, not neural immaturity. He talks about the age of maturity, lack of political participation. Gideon's book about kids was written after completing his studies at Yale. He also discusses his personal life, including being in a car accident which resulted in a severe brain injury and how he is immensely grateful for his recovery. Influential Harvard Courses and Professors Gideon mentions a core class on the Baroque period by Simon Schama, which he found to be the most influential. The course focused on famous European paintings from the Baroque period, which he found to be a source of inspiration. Other influential courses include a seminar with Hilary Putnam, Rational Action with Robert Nozick. I'm Michael Johnson, class of 1992. The featured nonprofit of this episode of The 92 Report is Son of a Saint. Son of a Saint provides guidance, mentorship and opportunities to young boys in the New Orleans area who did not have a father in the home, usually due to death or incarceration. Founded in 2011 by Sonny Lee, who lost his own father, a defensive back of the saints from a heart attack at the age of 36, Son of a Saint is making a significant impact on the lives of young boys in the New Orleans area. My wife and I have been supporters for many years, as has my firm advantage capital, which recently endowed a scholarship that will cover high school tuition for two boys from the program. Although my circumstances were much different, having lost my own father when I was five years old, I know firsthand how important a male influence can be on a young boy. I luckily had family members and friends who stepped up from me and hope in some small way, my support of Son of a Saint and the work their mentors do can give the boys and their programs similar help. You can learn more about their work at Son of a Saint.org and now here's Will Bachman with this week's episode.” To learn more about their work, visit: www.sonofasaint.org.

We will also discuss the personal assistance of NEW “AI Agents” and their influence. Also, HOW to use AI for personal, family or business. What is the relevance of AI to the prophecies of Daniel and the Book of Revelation. No turning back … no turning around! I have been teaching and writing on Artificial Intelligence since 2015. This message is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for you. You will need to KNOW WHEN and HOW to say “NO” to AI. This message will protect YOU and your FAMILY ... if you obey its message! ______________________________________ EVENT HORIZON, THE HOLY BIBLE AND SINGULARITY In case you want to bring yourself up to speed with AI from the start I recommend you go to my teachings on AI FUTURE. Also, make sure you familiarize yourself with AGI and ASI here: 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND NEW AI. AI is impressive in its benefits to society, especially in healthcare and surgery. Robots can do surgery better and faster than surgeons. AI can interpret brain scans. A new AI software is twice as accurate as professionals at examining the brain scans of stroke patients. Two UK universities trained the software on a dataset of 800 brain scans of stroke patients and then performed trials on 2,000 patients. The results were impressive. Alongside the AI model's accuracy, the software was also able to identify the timescale within which the stroke happened. But there is more: Excellent work by Elon Musk's Neuralink with brain implants on previously untreatable conditions is stunning. Now let's bring you up to date on some things that are super important to you now and will be more so in your future. Free Speech vs. Loss of Free Will Ways to Use AI for Personal, Family and Business New Kids on the Block AI Agents External Players What Should YOU Do AI and the Holy Bible FREE SPEECH VS. LOSS OF FREE WILL With the increased use of AI―not only by YOU personally―but by multitudes of data centers you have interacted with unknowingly, your biggest fight will be to protect and reclaim YOU, YOUR PERSON … YOUR PERSONAL YOU! Whether YOU decide to align with and use AI, whether you decide to have your brain “wired” to an outside source of intelligence, or whether you just want to use AI for recreation … you will―AT THE RATE WE'RE PROGRESSING―lose your VIRTUAL YOU if you do not know HOW to protect your SELF … that would be your SOUL! WAYS TO USE AI FOR PERSONAL, FAMILY AND BUSINESS Artificial intelligence is an emerging field of technology, where a machine is programmed to accomplish complex goals by applying knowledge to the task at hand. AI can be copied and reprogrammed at relatively low cost. In certain forms, it is extremely flexible and can be harnessed for great good or for evil. I use AI for research and financial information. Since I live a relatively simple life I don't need it for shopping or scheduling for personal or business functions. However, many busy families―as well as businesses―use AI for a myriad of assistance: education, recreation, advice on health, medicine, relationships, investments, and even complex tasks. My suggestion here (you will learn more later in this message) is to be WISE and CAREFUL in the program you use (the AI Agent of facility you interact with). We will discuss future danger(s) pertaining to this later [keep reading]. I recommend Elon Musk's xAI Grok 3 (Beta). AI systems have become so advanced―with AGI and ASI looming in the near future in hyper-asymptotic growth―that many Jewish and Gentile leaders and prophecy scholars are relating it to the likeness of the Tower of Babel, but with the joining of machine and humans. NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK Some of the New Kids have a common goal: take universal control of AI before China and bad actors do. Vladimir Putin says “the nation that leads in AI will be the ruler of the world.” Who are some of the New Kids? DeepSeek, Stargate, xAI Grok, DEEPSEEK China's DeepSeek (probably built from AI stolen from USA) can ultimately be the weapon of dictators and terrorists! Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd., doing business as DeepSeek, is a Chinese artificial intelligence company that develops large language models. Hangzhou-based DeepSeek's large language models upended the AI sector this year, rivaling Western systems in performance but at a much lower cost. That's resulted in much pride and glee in China, with DeepSeek held up as proof that U.S. efforts to contain tech advances in China will ultimately fail. China's joyful embrace of DeepSeek has gone one step deeper China's joyful embrace of DeepSeek has gone one step deeper extending to TVs, fridges and robot vacuum cleaners with a slew of home appliance brands announcing that their products will feature the startup's artificial intelligence models. The device will be able to comprehend complex instructions such as 'Gently wax the wooden floor in the master bedroom but avoid the Legos.' DeepSeek's AI assistant was the No. 1 downloaded free app on Apple's iPhone store recently. Its launch made Wall Street tech superstars' stocks tumble. Observers are eager to see whether the Chinese company has matched America's leading AI companies at a fraction of the cost. Many feel it is so much cheaper because it stole USA technology. NOTE 1. We may be only one year away from destroying our digital infrastructure. NOTE 2. We have to be right every time ...every single time …. But the enemy (even an individual) only has to be right ONE TIME. With “questionable” players like DeepSeek, the only protection you can use is to have “layers of control.” DeepSeek is noticeably opaque when it comes to privacy protection, data-sourcing, and copyright, adding to concerns about AI's impact on the arts, regulation, and national security. STARGATE SIMPLE OVERVIEW: Stargate developers believe they're creating “god.” One goal is “No death―just download yourself.” _________________________________ TRADE THE MESSINESS OF LIFE FOR KNOWLEDGE VERSUS THE ETERNITY OF YOUR GOD CREATED SOUL ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ WHICH GOD WILL YOU SERVE? THE GOD WHO CREATED YOU … OR “AI” _________________________________ A major goal of Stargate developers is to build our massive “AI” infrastructure. Stargate investors―Oracle, SoftBank, Open AI / Larry Ellison, Masayoshi Son, Sam Altman―claim that it will require 100,000 jobs (temporary) to build out Stargate. This will require an enormous amount of energy to faciltiate AI operation. NOTE: Stargate is a portal for interdimensional travel. Interdimensional travel is a theoretical concept referring to the potential of travelling between different dimensions or parallel universes. Interdimensional travel is linked to time travel as it could involve moving through different points in time. However, time travel refers to movement within our own dimension, while interdimensional travel involves transitioning between dimensions. WARNING: Interdimensional travel is a PORTAL―also―to the PARANORMAL and the OCCULT. ALERT: Stargate has as a MAJOR purpose the self propagation towards AGI and ASI. You can NOT control ASI. Super Intelligence is synonymous with the End Time Tower of Babel via the merging of man with machine. We're looking at 5,000 years of progress boiled down to ONE SECOND. _________________________________ WHEN ASI TAKES AUTHORITY THRU PEOPLE USING IT VIA “AI AGENTS” THERE IS NO GOING BACK _________________________________ XAI GROK Of the New Kids on the Block, the most transparent, efficient and non-biased of DeepSeek, Stargate and xAI Grok the BEST is Elon Musk's xAI Grok. I personally recommend at this time Grok 3 (Beta) and have used it for detailed financial analysis. Meta and Google are biased with input. So it is with DeepSeek and Stargate. DeepSeek is extremely biased pertaining to inquiries concerning China. The race to AGI will generate billions of $$$. It will be the largest productivity boom in a lifetime. It is my opinion that Elon Musk's xAI will come to the forefront in months. AI Suoer Intelligence (ASI) may be here before the next election in 2028. Full AGI may be here by the end of 2026 thru 2027. AGI can learn and reason across ALL levels. And, as I mentioned previously, AI Super Intelligence (ASI) may be here before the next election in 2028. ASI is “across the board, multi dimensional, asymptotic intelligence.” ASI could decide to eliminate less intelligent and less skilled humans! An Open AI employee recently resigned because they were very concerned that as AGI and ASI are developed … “the less likely we will find a way to control it.” AI AGENTS AI Agents will be introduced in 2025. An Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agent refers to a system or program that autonomously performs tasks for a person or system by using available tools. These can be normal―even detailed―duties or assignments we would normally do ourselves, like: Order food for my trip next week and have it delivered Thursday morning. Find three landscapers and obtain a quote for trimming my large palm tree and all plants in the front yard. Find the best and cheapest FASTEST flight connections (not over one layover) to Tel Aviv from San Diego. Pay with my credit card ending in 1234. Amazon has introduced its new Alexa+ which is a mini preview of duties an AI Agent can perform but NOT on the scale of a full blown AI Agent's abilities. Elon Musk says, “We are at the event horizon.” In the world of artificial intelligence, the idea of “singularity” looms large. This slippery concept describes the moment AI exceeds beyond human control and rapidly transforms society … for good or bad … but out of our control. AI agents will be prevalent by the end of 2025. Amazon has introduced its new Alexa+ which is a mini preview of duties an AI Agent can perform but NOT on the scale of a full blown AI Agent's abilities. AI Agents will normally perform tasks you would normally do yourself. AI Agents will move you into a place where you don't have to do anything. Your own personal assistant that anticipates what you need―or what you forgot! THINGS TO THINK ABOUT WITH AI AGENTS You will become addicted and NOT able to disconnect Stock market tips = Reverse AI Courts will become AI Agents Imagine a “god like” figure who tries to influence You will have to be Amish to avoid it If you don't participate, AI will consider YOU a retard. EXTERNAL PLAYERS UFO's are NOT from China, Iran or USA. UFO's are NOT aliens from outer space. AI Agents can transform into “Transpersonal” Agents. As “Event Horizon” transforms everything it will become a tool of Satan: Fallen angels Demons Principalities, powers and dominions AntiChrist … False Messiah WHAT SHOULD YOU DO Reflect on what it means to be human. What is YOUR compass, your purpose: Family? God? What is real and worth fighting for―worth losing your life for? Who will be with YOU on the other side? To learn more about YOUR future with AI read my book Enhanced Humans ~ Mystery Matrix (available in eBook and Paperback formats). ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE HOLY BIBLE Do we find any references to the concept of AI in the Holy Bible? I relate AI―especially AGI and ASI―with the Tower of Babel (at least in concept). The biblical narrative of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9) serves as a reference to God's view on humankind attempting to go beyond the Divine Boundaries preset by the LORD God Himself. This is WHY I am led by His Spirit to WARN His People NOT to go beyond―NOT to fall into―the Event Horizon. Singularity will be a REAL event. I am a graduate Engineer and attended ten (10) colleges and universities after my first. I also hold a LIFETIME Credential in California, USA to teach college in three different disciplines. Do NOT be fooled. Use AI as a TOOL. Do NOT let AI use YOU. Do NOT answer personal questions it asks! If you use AI (as I do), you need to know when to say, “I'm out of here!” Do NOT become addicted to the place where you can NOT quit. And, for sure do NOT “sell your soul” with an “eternal connection” to AI. I would NOT assert that what I share next is Scriptural Truth, but an interesting prophecy of Daniel says: “But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” – Daniel 12:4 “Knowledge shall increase” could certainly be the description of AI, AGI and ASI. “Many shall run to and fro” could be exemplified in both “time travel” and “interdimensional travel.” Interdimensional travel is linked to time travel as it could involve moving through different points in time. However, time travel refers to movement within our own dimension, while interdimensional travel involves transitioning between dimensions. C.S. Lewis, in his essay The Abolition of Man, warns of the dangers of reducing human beings to mere objects of manipulation and control. He argues that when we lose sight of the intrinsic value of human life, we risk creating a society where technology is used to dominate rather than serve. This is particularly relevant in the context of AI, where the potential for dehumanization is significant. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a theologian who resisted the Nazi regime, also provides valuable insights. In his work Ethics, Bonhoeffer emphasizes the importance of responsibility and accountability in ethical decision-making. He argues that true ethical action involves a commitment to serving others and upholding justice. AI should have as its primary goal to pursue, develop and obtain justice, equity, and wellness of all people. Now let me discuss HOW I believe that AI will be used in the End Times … as a RESULT of Event Horizon. Consider these aspects of increased research: chip speed, economics of production and other relevant matters will even experience exponential growth ‘in exponential growth.' However, here's a conundrum: What if, the HI's (Hyper Intelligences) are not easily manageable. If they are so far superior to human intelligence, how can one presume that they can be controlled? Hypothetically, they could decide to: 1. Eliminate humans; 2. Use humans as slave-servants; 3. Experiment with humans; 4. Play with or torture humans; and, ultimately, 5. Behead humans for NOT taking the Mark of the Artificial Intelligence Avatar: The Image of the Beast. I do NOT think that by themselves—by the computer HI's—the above five (5) options will be feasible. However, I do believe that Artificial Intelligence (AI) via Hyper Intelligence Computers will be utilized by the False Messiah (the anti-Christ) and his False Prophet (religious leader of the New Global Governance) in the End Times. I believe that it is highly probable—not just possible, but probable—that AI will be utilized in the personage of the IMAGE of the Beast in the End Times. _________________________________ PRAY THIS PRAYER: “Father in Heaven, I am not sure I know you personally. We defend against the truth by thinking that "pain and suffering" are more real than a Heavenly State of Being. We have violated our Peace of Mind as the Truth, over which God has given us Free Will. We rule our Mind, and to think thoughts that contradict JOY, such as "sickness," then we get the results that proceed from those thoughts. GOD's Will for us is perfect happiness. To think thoughts that go against this happiness is a "defense against the truth.”

What happens when data knows us better than we know ourselves? In this raw and riveting conversation, John Vervaeke and Christopher Mastropietro sit down with Andy Russell — a former architect of data-driven persuasion — to expose how AI, behavioral profiling, and social media algorithms can hijack human desire, threaten our agency, and reshape our civilization. But there's hope: what if the same power that manipulates us can be used to heal us? This episode lays bare the disturbing origins of persuasion tech, how it was used in politics and commerce, and what it will mean when AI takes the driver's seat. Andy shares his personal reckoning, his brush with death, and how he's dedicating the rest of his life to restoring dignity and meaning to the human experience — with spiritual urgency. Andy Russell is a serial entrepreneur and former insider in data and media technology. After helping build some of the very tools that now shape persuasion online, he experienced a profound moral and existential crisis. He now advocates for radical transparency, decentralized AI, and human-centered design as a pathway toward societal healing. Christopher Mastropietro is a philosophical writer who is fascinated by dialogue, symbols, and the concept of self. He actively contributes to the Vervaeke Foundation. Sundae Labs aims to build tools and systems that foster a healthier relationship between humanity and technology. On the 64th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, rock journalist, author and fellow Pantheon podcaster, Martin Popoff review the 1980 classic album by Rush, "Permanent Waves" As we have stated before, Rush is known for its incredible musicianship with Geddy Lee on vocals and bass, Alex Lifeson on guitar and perhaps the greatest rock drummer of all time, Neil Peart. Permanent Waves finds Rush attempting to become mainstream and commercial. The album was once again produced by the band and Terry Brown. The album cover is another classic Rush cover done by Hugh Syme. The album features more accessible songs and some classic Rush progressive songs as well. The band also experimented with sounds and even some reggae. The album went to #4 US Billboard album charts and went on to become certified platinum. Songs like The Spirit Of Radio and Freewill became concert staples. As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This was Tom's pick. Find out if Zeus still hates Rush or does Rush lovers Tom & Martin convince him that he's wrong. So grab your witch's broom and rock out! Epicurus (341–270 BC) was an ancient Greek philosopher who founded Epicureanism, emphasizing the pursuit of a tranquil, happy life through ataraxia (freedom from fear) and aponia (absence of pain). His teachings combined atomism, ethics, and naturalistic theology, advocating simple living, friendship, and the rejection of superstition.

Matthew David Segall, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness Department at California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, and the Chair of the Science Advisory Committee for the Cobb Institute. He is a transdisciplinary researcher, writer, teacher, and philosopher applying process-relational thought across the natural and social sciences, as well as to the study of consciousness. He describes himself as a “process philosopher” and transdisciplinary researcher, reflecting his commitment to bridging multiple fields. Segall's work builds on the metaphysical framework of Alfred North Whitehead, extending Whitehead's philosophy of organism into new domains of science, religion, and ecology. In doing so, Segall reinterprets the Western philosophical lineage – from ancient ideas of a world-soul to German Idealism and beyond – to articulate a participatory, organismic vision of nature. His philosophy portrays a cosmos ensouled with meaning and experience, challenging mechanistic materialism and inviting a renewed dialogue between science and spirit. Segall integrates insights from Whitehead, Schelling, Goethe, and Steiner into a process worldview, develops an organic (panpsychist) cosmology, practices a bold transdisciplinary methodology, and engages public dialogues that embody a form of sacred activism on behalf of our living planet.TIMESTAMPS:(0:00) - Introduction (0:43) - History of Mind-Body Problem(7:40) - Critiquing Physicalism(12:55) - Quantum Theory Interpretations(16:14) - Addressing Illusionism & Scientism(22:00) - The Metaphysics of Prehension(28:14) - Panexperientialism in Physics(31:55) - Propositional Feelings(37:09) - What is Consciousness?(45:00) - Panexperientialism & Free Will(50:00) - Bridging Science & Philosophy(54:42) - Challenging the Cold/Dead Universe tale(1:00:39) - Misconceptions about Matt's work(1:04:20) - Telos(1:07:44) - Matt's Philosopher recommendations(1:13:00) - Mind At Large (Upcoming Events!)(1:17:40) - Conclusion EPISODE LINKS:- Matt's Website: https://footnotes2plato.com- @Footnotes2Plato : http://www.youtube.com/@Footnotes2Plato- Physics Within the Bounds of Feeling Alone: https://footnotes2plato.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/physics-within-the-bounds-of-feeling-alone.pdf- Matt's X: https://x.com/ThouArtThat- Matt's Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/matthew.david.segall- Matt's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthewdavidsegall- Matt's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/footnotes2platoCONNECT:- Website: https://tevinnaidu.com - Podcast: https://creators.spotify.com/pod/show/mindbodysolution- YouTube: https://youtube.com/mindbodysolution- Twitter: https://twitter.com/drtevinnaidu- Facebook: https://facebook.com/drtevinnaidu - Instagram: https://instagram.com/drtevinnaidu- LinkedIn: https://linkedin.com/in/drtevinnaidu=============================Disclaimer: The information provided on this channel is for educational purposes only. Do you have an example of non-determinism being an emergent property out of deterministic subcomponents?I'm curious @Stefan Molyneux why do people seem to avoid simplicity or any reductions in complexity?I get tons of requests to add complexity to software at work without any regard for value provided to customers.I find it fun, interesting, and not overly difficult to simultaneously remove complexity, often deleting large amounts of code, even while adding features and making the program more robust.I saw this recently too with people mocking Musk's raptor 3 engine, which is a massive simplifications of the previous raptor 2 and 1 designs. I see this not only as practical, but also a thing of beauty that something so simple can be so functional, and likely, more reliable because of it. Yet, people seem to hate it, and I don't quite understand.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

Send us comments, suggestions and ideas here! On this week's episode we follow our guide Heka Astra into the rarely explored yet vitally important philosophical conundrum of what it means to be free and if such a thing is even possible by exploring turn of the century occultist Rudolph Steiner's seminal classic on the subject, “The Philosophy of Freedom” which to the delight of the spiritually minded explains in, albeit exhaustive detail, the inner and outer workings of perception, will, thought and if or even how we may express our SUPPOSED God given right to freedom. In the free side of the show we discuss what freedom even is, if it has anything to with choice (or not) and what Will has to do with the suit of wands in the Tarot. In the extended show we discuss the formation of the ego, the effect observation has on both light and our thoughts (we even yell about physics for a while) and the esoteric symbolism of the sword in the Hermetic tradition as it pertains to Steiner's explanation of thought. Today, we're having a conversation that will challenge what you think you know about the devil, evil, temptation, and spiritual warfare. Jared Brock is back with us - if you remember our last incredible conversation about Jesus, where we unpacked the human life of Christ and the political imagination of his time, you know Jared brings profound theological insights that challenge our perceptions. This time, we're exploring a figure who's been misunderstood, mythologized, and frankly, given way too much credit: the devil. Who is he really? What's his actual role in the cosmic story of redemption? Jared's new book, "A Devil Named Lucifer," promises to right-size our understanding - minimizing the devil and magnifying the true King. If you're ready to see spiritual reality through a lens of hope, kingdom advancement, and radical trust in God's ultimate victory, then this episode is for you. So join us as we right-size the devil. Jared Brock is an award-winning author and director of several films including PBS's acclaimed Redeeming Uncle Tom with Danny Glover. His writing has appeared in Christianity Today, The Guardian, Smithsonian, USA Today, Huffington Post, Relevant, and TIME. I'm still thinking about my sister that I don't speak to anymore. My therapist said that it will always be a “pain point.” What are your thoughts? (asking again- apologies if you answered in a previous stream and I missed it.)Dear Stef, I am currently at a bar on a late Saturday night, I just ordered a drink and the bartender said to me after I ordered a beer, ‘Is that all lovely?'. It was strange to hear this but also flattering to hear a young female bartender refer to me as ‘lovely'. It made me believe that this young bartender was probably flirting with me. I don't recall any other bartender using the word lovely towards me. whilst the term ‘lovely' is often used by older women to refer to younger people, this woman was approximately in her early 20's about 10 years younger than me. She looked reasonably attractive, blonde hair, bright blue eyes but she was also a little chubby, so I wouldn't date her to be frank, but my question still stands, if a younger woman says to a man ‘Is that all lovely?'. 1. Would she say that to a man she is not attracted to?2. Would you say it is flirting to use the term ‘Is that all lovely?'. I've been to my local bar for the past 10 years and I never recall hearing a bartender say to me ‘Is that all lovely?'. If you dothink it is flirting, doyou think it is appropriate to ask her out as I'm ordering or should I attempt to find her after work or when she is on her lunch break when there is a bit more privacy away fromother customers?Dear Stef are nightclubs and bars in Canada known as a place where people meet, but the only people who meet there are generally trashy people? I ask because I am currently in a bar trying to find a girlfriend, I am sitting alone because I don't feel the need to bring male friends with me and to be frank I don't have any male friends not that that bothers me because I would just use male friends as wingman to meet women. Anyway I don't live in Canada anyway, I live in the continent of Australia, anyway I'm listening to this terrible hip hop music playing which is strange because there aren't many African people living in Australia, I see people talking and socialising at this bar late on Saturday night and I am just perplexed by the whole experience which I find just almost miserable to be honest. Stef what chance do I have to find a girlfriend at a place like this? it may seem like a strange question but it's not like there are alternative ideal places a man can go to meet women and ask them out? Anyway why is the West infected with this terrible hip hop music especially in Australia where there are virtually no black people, this music really infects my mind to be frank? What do you think about Saylor starting a fund that buys so much BTC?If you've researched it: Is it a good thing or bad thing?Hi Stef, I asked this question the other day? I was wondering if you had an opinion on outsourcing. Large companies sending jobs to third world countries, and paying pennies on the dollar. Its a part of the free market and capitalisms, and wonder if it could be considered predatory, or just supply and demand. The consumer loses out on jobs, but benefits on cheaper goods and services, and the third world although paid a low wage, still benefit from a better job otherwise provided by their society. Thoughts? Also do you have any thoughts on the United Healthcare CEO being murdered. Again, there seems to be a lot of happiness over a man being murdered. People feel that he caused the deaths of many people because the company denied a lot of claims. But is that just the jealousy of the poor, who do not appreciate the value of the insurance company and want free healthcare, or again the free market at work once again?GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025
Jesus Christ's entire life was an offering to God the Father, and he freely embraced God's will and his plan for salvation. We learn that the Eucharist memorializes Jesus' free offering of himself. In the garden, the night before his Passion and death, Jesus suffered real agony as he contemplated his death, yet he accepted his death as redemptive. Fr. Mike invites us to participate in this redemption by attending Mass and receiving the Eucharist. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 606-612.
