Hello and welcome to another episode of 4 Tims and a Podcast. This episode sees Andy and Darren talk to Paul from Celtic Shared in discussion about the rumoured appointment of Bernard Higgins. We discuss at length the reasons that many feel this would be a terrible appointment for the club and cause friction and divison between the support and the board. We encourage any fan organisation, fan media or supporters club who are against this appointment to contact Celtic Shared via email celticshared@outlook.com with your details to continue the growing movement of the supporters standing against this potentially terrible appointment.Rather than follow us on Social Media please go and follow groups such as Fans Against Criminalisation, Celtic Shared and The Celtic Trust to find out more about how you can have your voice heard.
The Celtic Way is a mini podcast series where we talk to fans who have been involved in successful campaigns around Celtic. Through the series, we will talk to three individuals about their fight for change, what made their campaign successful and what lessons can be taken from their work in light of the current situation.Current circumstances around our club are really tough and it’s especially difficult when the support feel that they are not being heard. With that in mind, it’s important to remember times when fans have been listened to, when they have been able to affect change and to remind ourselves that it can and will be done again. In episode two Clare Wilde talks to Paul Quigley of FAC (Fans Against Criminalisation) about what they have achieved, how they managed their campaign and what lessons they learned.
In this episode we are joined once again with Kev, Tony and Connor, to discuss the groups involvement with Fans Against Criminalisation. In today's episode we are joined by our guest Paul who is/was heavily involved in challenging the now defunct Offensive Behaviour At Football Act.
Fans Against Criminalisation’s podcast mini-series will be completed with the release of our final episode. Our host Liam O’Hare will reflect on the magnitude of the campaign’s victory with journalist Andrew McFadyen and our usual guests Jeanette Findlay and Paul Quigley. Featuring an interview with BEMIS representative Danny Boyle who discusses the new attempts to define sectarianism and where the debate now moves to.
Listen to testimonies from football fans of their experience of the OBAF and the impact it has had on their lives.
Episode 5 of the Fans Against Criminalisation podcast is a short supplementary episode looking forward to Thursday’s final stage vote for repeal. Whilst our usual host is away on holiday, Jeanette Findlay and Paul Quigley are joined by James Kelly as the 3 consider how the campaign has got to the point of repeal and pay tribute to the efforts of those who have made this possible.
The Offensive Behaviour At Football act - a more useless piece of legislation I’ve yet to come across, but that’s not my opinion, that’s the view of lawyers, judges, civil liberty campaigners, minority rights groups and of course the evidence of our own eyes and ears and the evidence of government statistics. If it was meant to stop a problem it has completely failed. Regular listeners will know my issues with OBFA - one is that the legislation was not needed - we had laws for dealing with racism and sectarianism and behaviour likely to cause trouble. It’s not very good - we’ve had to train the police what is and isn’t offensive so that they can arrest people and they are the only people being offended. It tries to wrap up societies ills - if we have offensive behaviour at football it will exist in society as a whole so why try to wrap it up in a nice bundle and say the issues are all a football one. I could go on but surely better to have someone at the heart of matters discuss so we have Paul Quigley from Fans Against Criminalisation. Enjoy and then please take action… www.celtictrust.net
We are in the desert of international football and out of that desert comes the oasis of a Celtic Underground Podcast. Following on from the close season podcast with James Kelly MSP on his process of trying to repeal OBFA Harry has a catch up with Jeanette Findlay of Fans Against Criminalisation on the act, its consequences and how YOU can help with its repeal. Jeanette is joined by Jim to provide us with how this act is being implimented by the police and fiscal. If, like us, you find this act rediculous, illiberal and not fit for purpose then you can write to your MSP, attend a surgery or complete the Parliament survey; http://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/S/FootballActRepealBill/ http://fansagainstcriminalisation.com/ Also, sadly, a name familiar to many of us online, @Napoleon_Celtic died suddenly at the end of September. For those who'd been on The Big Lhist or just kicking around Celtic supporters groups will also have come across and know him by his real name of Iain Tarbet. Iain's funeral is this Friday (14th Oct) in Ardrossan and his family have organised a collection for the Celtic FC Foundation; https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/iaintarbet Enjoy.
Tonight the HomeBhoys swapped one Joe for another average one. Joe Miller of Not the View infamy made his debut on the panel with Harper and Paul. They were also joined half an hour into the show by Green Brigade member and Fans Against Criminalisation representitive Paul to discuss the latest attempts to 'kill the bill' All in all another packed show where Harper struggled with the controls but the chat about all things Celtic still flowed freely. Until next time, Hail Hail
In this HomeBhoys Extra Jason, Joe and Paul are joined by Stevie Cairney, ex delegate with the Affiliation of Registered Celtic Supporters Clubs to speak about the revelations he aired last week regarding Celtic FC and the recent issues surrounding the treatment of Celtic supporters. Stevie speaks frankly and sincerely about his perception of Celtic's relationship with the fans. This is not to missed, this is something that true Celtic supporters should hear.
