A major new Ipsos poll drops — and the implications for Holyrood 2026 are huge. The SNP hold a stable lead. Labour has fallen sharply. Reform UK has surged into second place in the constituency vote, fuelled by the rise of immigration as a top concern for Scottish voters.• Why Reform UK is gaining Scottish voters from both Labour and the Conservatives • How immigration became a top-three issue in Scottish politics • Why the SNP vote remains “sticky” • Labour's worsening poll numbers after Keir Starmer's difficult months • The Greens' highly effective regional-vote strategy • Whether Reform has reached its ceiling in Scotland • What demographic groups are driving Reform's riseWe also speak to Mark McGeoghegan of Ipsos, who analyses the polling in depth — approval ratings, demographic breakdowns, voting-intention shifts, and how Scottish voters feel about taxation and public spending. And later: an interview with Michael Matheson, the outgoing SNP MSP, and former Transport Secretary. Will the A9 ever be fully dualled? Has the Scottish Government failed on delivery? Matheson responds. Finally, we react to your messages about Malcolm Offord's defection to Reform UK, including whether he boosts their credibility, fundraising and appeal — or whether he's tied to rhetoric that will hurt the party in Scotland.
Nicola Sturgeon is the latest guest on Magnified.Sturgeon released her memoir ‘Frankly' earlier this year and here she speaks to Matt live from the National Concert Hall in Dublin about the career that led her to become the first female and longest serving First Minister of Scotland. In this wide ranging and extensive interview, she opens up about what nationalism means to her and if the result of Scotland's independence referendum dented her reputation as SNP leader, how she thought former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson didn't take his role seriously enough and how she was “frightened” and “overwhelmed” at the level of responsibility that was thrust upon her during the Covid-19 pandemic. She also discusses her fallout with fellow former SNP leader Alex Salmond and how the breakdown of their professional relationship impacted her. This series is brought to you by Intact Insurance.
A two-parter on this week's Stooshie as we delve into the decision on the Sandie Peggie transgender changing room tribunal. What does it mean for the nurse, the transgender doctor and NHS Fife? We go over the promises and policies from SNP leader John Swinney on energy. He promised to reduce energy bills…if he gets a majority, if he gets another referendum, if he wins, and so on. SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn joins us to talk about the idea in the run up to next May's election.
Part 1: Frances Widdowson joins us to discuss her recent arrest at the University of Victoria, the growing political backlash she faces for questioning the official narrative around the 215 “unmarked graves” at Kamloops, and why attempts to open evidence-based discussion on residential-school graves are being shut down on Canadian campuses.Part 2: Tom Flanagan joins the conversation as we examine the collective guilt being imposed on Canadians, the implications of the recent Cowichan Tribes court decision, and what these developments mean for free speech, historical truth, and the future direction of the country.Frances Widdowson is a Canadian political scientist and former associate professor at Mount Royal University who was fired in 2021 (a termination later ruled disproportionate by an arbitrator) after years of public criticism of Indigenous policy, the “Aboriginal industry,” and what she calls the “Grave Error” narrative surrounding the 2021 Kamloops unmarked-graves announcement. Co-author of the books Disrobing the Aboriginal Industry and Grave Error, she argues that many claims about residential-school mass graves lack forensic evidence and have been exaggerated for political and financial gain.Tom Flanagan is a Canadian professor emeritus at the University of Calgary; former advisor to Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Author of books on Métis history (e.g., The Diaries of Louis Riel, 1976) and libertarian policy critiques on aboriginal land claims. No v rozličnej miere opisuje každú krajinu a každé mesto, i u nás na Slovensku.

Your Genetics are a key part of my TUSHY Method (Y = Your genetics) and I'm so honored to have Dena Goldberg (also known far and wide as Dena DNA) joining me today! Some of the questions I know you have on your mind about genetics are: Nothing came back on my 23 & Me test. I'm good to go, right? Answer: Not so fast. 23&Me relies on "SNP testing," and only looks at "very specific bookmarks on very random genes." You'll want a more thorough test for preconception screening. I don't have any history of disease in my family. Do I need to do genetic testing? Answer: It's a good idea. There are syndromes such as Lynch Syndrome that are asymptomatic in 90% of people who are carriers. You'll want to know if you have those genetic markers before passing them on to your embryo and child. Can you make sure my embryo doesn't have autism? Answer: Autism is actually a description of a constellation of symptoms. So it's not an underlying condition in and of itself. There are hundreds to thousands of genetic causes to autism. We can catch some of these cases, but not all. Autism is multifactorial, meaning that many of these cases are probably caused by a combination of genetics and environment or in other words, nature and nurture together. In recent years he has strongly advocated the theory that the murder was carried out by or with the involvement of Sweden's secret Cold War “Stay Behind” network, motivated by Palme's independent foreign policy and his contacts with Mikhail Gorbachev. Scotland is just six months away from May's crucial parliamentary election, with First Minister John Swinney preparing to lead the SNP into one of the most unpredictable campaigns since the party entered government almost 19 years ago. On 19 November, the Institute for Government was delighted to welcome Scotland's First Minister to discuss his priorities ahead of the 2026 Scottish parliament election, the political context in Scotland ahead of the crucial UK budget, and the SNP's vision for Scotland's constitutional future. John Swinney was in conversation with Jill Rutter, Senior Fellow at the Institute for Government, followed by a Q&A with the live and online audience. Learn more about your ad choices. At tey fólkavaldu duga at hyggja longur fram enn bara eitt tingskeið. Eisni gott altjóða samstarv hevur alstóran týdning. Hetta kann ikki loysast, um vit ikki hava góðar vinir úti í heimi, sigur Goodlad. Fólk í Hetlandi hyggja at Føroyum við eitt sindur av øvundsjúku. Ráðini, hon hevur fingið úr Føroyum, eru, at tað ræður um at taka fyrstu stigini nú. Við tíðini verða tey so umfatandi, at endaliga stigið mest sum hendir av sær sjálvum. - Eingin fer at geva Hetlandi sjálvstýri. Vit mugu sjálvi fara eftir tí, sigur Hannah Mary Goodlad at enda.

I'm joined by Caylan Ford and Bruce Pardy to discuss is there a “Common Good”.Caylan Ford is the founder of Canada's fastest-growing tuition-free classical charter school network, Alberta Classical Academy. A former federal policy advisor with degrees from Calgary, George Washington, and Oxford. She also co-produced award-winning documentaries exposing human rights abuses. In 2019, she was a rising UCP star candidate until a leaked private chat about cultural preservation was weaponized as “white supremacy,” forcing her resignation within hours; she's now suing for defamation. Bruce Pardy is a Queen's University law professor, executive director of the law-and-liberty think-tank Rights Probe, and one of Canada's sharpest classical-liberal critics of the “managerial state.” A former Bay Street litigator and decade-long adjudicator on Ontario's Environmental Review Tribunal, he now writes and speaks on the front lines of the legal culture war—defending individual autonomy, free markets, property rights, and the rule of law against what he calls the “Unholy Trinity” of bureaucracy, human-rights tribunals, and activist courts.Tickets to Cornerstone Forum 26': https://www.showpass.com/cornerstone26/Tickets to the Mashspiel:https://www.showpass.com/mashspiel/Silver Gold Bull Links:Website: https://silvergoldbull.ca/Email: SNP@silvergoldbull.comText Grahame: (587) 441-9100Bow Valley Credit UnionBitcoin: www.bowvalleycu.com/en/personal/investing-wealth/bitcoin-gatewayEmail: welcome@BowValleycu.com Use the code “SNP” on all ordersProphet River Links:Website: store.prophetriver.com/Email: SNP@prophetriver.comGet your voice heard: Text Shaun 587-217-8500

This is PHENOMENAL.Jack was First Minister of Scotland 2001-2007. It was a tumultuous global time and he found himself at the centre of it at the Gleneagles summit. His stories about George W. Bush and Vladimir Putin are incredible. But there's loads more in this. Jack became the leader of a local authority at just 29. He'd joined the SNP at 16, but became a Labour member at 19. It would change the course of his life and he would have a huge impact on the future of Scotland and the UK.THE POLITICAL PARTY LIVE8 December: Nick Clegg26 January: Special VIP Guest16 February: David Miliband9 March: Zack Polanskihttps://nimaxtheatres.com/shows/the-political-party-with-matt-forde/ SEE Matt's brand new stand-up tour 'Defying Calamity' across the UK:https://www.mattforde.com/live-shows Hosted on Acast. On the face of it, the Caerphilly by-election result is a disaster, a drubbing and a humiliation for Keir Starmer's Labour party. A once secure bastion of the Welsh Labour heartlands fell without a squeak from the governing party. Their vote collapsed to a miserable 11 per cent, while Plaid Cymru won with 47 per cent and Reform surged to second place with 36 per cent. The result suggests Labour is on course to surrender a boatload of seats at the 2029 general election, both to Reform and to whatever protest party is best suited to beat the government around the head – be it Plaid, the Greens, the Corbynites, the Islamist independents or the SNP. But is there good news for the PM beyond the headlines? Lucy Dunn speaks to Tim Shipman and James Heale.
