[rating:4.5/5] Matthew THE AMORY WARS: IN KEEPING SECRETS OF SILENT EARTH: 3 #12
Written by Claudio Sanchez, Peter David
Drawn by Aaron Kuder
Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez and comics legend Peter David bring you the epic conclusion to the “Silent Earth” saga! Claudio’s ship of misfit warriors joins Inferno and his rebel army, taking the fight directly to Wilhelm Ryan and House Atlantic. It’s a battle for the ages as Claudio’s survival hinges on whether The Crowing was really his destiny…or just a myth. [rating:2.5/5] MAJOR SPOILERS POLL OF THE WEEK When it comes to fights, there is the My Dad Can Beat Your Dad, Superman vs. Hulk, My Fav vs. Your Fav, but rarely do you see fights involving one married couple taking on another married couple. To be honest, the current relationship status between Green Arrow/Black Canary and Hawkeye/Mockingbird seems to always be up in the air, but for the sake of this Poll of the Week (submitted to us by @Praion via Twitter), we’re considering the couples married. FIGHT! [poll id="189"] VOTE Alan Moore's Top Ten Top Ten Volume One
Writer: Alan Moore
Artist: Gene Ha, Zander Cannon The story revolves around the day-to-day lives of the police officers at the 10th Precinct Police Station and is similar in tone to classic television police dramas like Hill Street Blues, which Moore has described as an influence. The book also addresses a wide range of prejudices and issues, but with a science-fiction twist; monsters, robots and fantasy creatures often face the bigotry and problems faced by real-world human minorities. The series is noted for its comic-book references and visual “sight gags” relating to the genre. For example, a caped street-corner watch-vendor uses a cardboard sign advertising “signal watches”, and a hot-dog vendor cooks his wares with heat vision. One plotline involves a boy-band called Sidekix whose hit single was called “Holy Broken Hearts”. Likewise, most advertising, signage and graffiti in the Top 10 universe contains references to the world of comic books and super powers (e.g. a clothing store called “The Phonebooth”) and crowd scenes usually feature many characters from sci-fi and comic books Contact us at podcast@majorspoilers.com Call the Major Spoilers Hotline at (785) 727-1939.
