This edition of the Turn to Tara podcast shares the story of Penny Goffman and Stacy Danow. Both are working moms in the Hudson Valley with young children at home. They hustle every day like the rest of us, trying to balance their families and professional lives. They are in the stage of life where there is never enough time in the day to get it all done. But both ladies managed to put life on pause this October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Goffman, owner of the mobile fashion company Jolie Gotique, partnered with The Breast Cancer Alliance for the GotiqueGoesPink campaign, raising donations by selling fabulous pink T-shirts hand-designed by Danow, who lost her mom to cancer. In the U.S., about 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her life. Just this year there have been about 270,000 new cases across the country.
On today's episode, Irina interviews Penny Goffman, the owner and founder of Jolie Gotique, a modern boutique on wheels that literally comes to you for a unique styling and buying experience. They host pop-ups at private events, parties, clubs, school, businesses, and even fundraisers. Penny started her career in the finance world, then became a teacher, and through the massive amount of styling requests from her students' moms, she decided to launch her own business.
