Monica Tanner is a wife and mother of 4 amazingly talented and wonderful children.  She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas.  She went to college at the University of Texas at Austin and received a bachelor’s degree in sociology and child development.  Shortly after graduating from college, She met the man of my dreams and they moved to Boise, Idaho to raise their family.  Monica has been a stay at home mom and small business owner for 15 years and she is super excited to share some of the lessons she's learned with you through her podcast. On the Brighter Side is a podcast for anyone who is ready to up-level their lives in the area of physical, mental, emotional or spiritual health.  Monica will discuss real life lessons she has learned as well as interviewing others who are living their lives on the brighter side. She also started the non-profit, Just Do Some Good last year. All of this keeps her busy and on her toes. I enjoyed talking with Monica about the impact she is creating in your community about the importance of service! Monica recognized that the youth in her community were getting attention and positive reinforcement for doing stupid things on social media! She decided to do something about it! With Just Do Some Good, Monica is creating a movement around service with the youth in her community to help them recognize the importance of service, and to use their experiences to lift their social media environment by posting about their good experiences with service! You can learn more about Monica's foundation at www.justdosomegood.org and follow her on Facebook @JustDoSomeGood. Look for Monica on Instagram @monitanner1. Monica also hosts her podcast, On The Brighter Side wherever you listen to podcasts, and you can check out my interview with her here: "Creating Your Own Family Culture." In one of my favorite interviews of all time, I chatted with Ben Higgens through the computer just like we were old friends. He had the flu, so his voice is a little raspy, but it totally worked for him. He talked about his life after the Bachelor, his new flame, Jessica, turning 30, his businesses and humanitarian work. Ben is busy doing wonderful things in the world and we couldn’t be happier for his successes. He agreed to come visit Idaho for a watch party, so plan on that, Ladies! He loved my vision for Just Do Some Good and now I’m fired up about it. His main charity is called Humanity and Hope United and I’m super grateful for all the good he is doing. Keep posting about service! You can connect with Ben on Instagram @higgens.ben or email him from his profile. That’s how I connected with him and it totally paid off. You can also listen to his podcast with Ashley I. called the Almost Famous Podcast on any podcast listening app. Please don’t forget about the Holiday House Boutique this weekend, April 11th-13th. Come early for the best selection, but just come, because there is certainly something for everyone. Also, tickets for my You ROCK! Workshop are on sale now on Eventbrite or through my Instagram profile @monitanner1. It’s going to be are really transformational morning and I don’t want you to miss out. This is such a great episode with Mayor Tammy de Weerd of Meridian, Idaho. Mayor Tammy is serving her last year of her fourth term as Mayor. She strives to make Meridian, Idaho a wonderful place to live, work and recreate. In this episode, Tammy talks about her experiences as Mayor and the implementation of Do the Right Day. Do the Right Day started when there where concerns about bullying and suicide and so Do the Right Day was implemented to remind people to be kind and do something nice for the person to their right. Today I’m talking all about my most empowering why, and that is courage. I recently attended a branding workshop and had to dig deep into what motivates me to do what I am doing. I realized that courage is the word that drives me in every way. I have shared this before, but I truly believe that we all have a mission and purpose for being here on the earth. My motivation for this podcast is to help people tap into their courage to be themselves, to live their purpose and to chase their dreams! I also start talking about the non profit organization I’m starting called, Just Do Some Good. I promise so many more details in the near future, but if you are listening to this episode when it comes out on July 16th, it’s BE THE GOOD day and we want you to go out and find some form of service, big or small and post about it on social media, using the #bethegood and #justdosomegood. Tag @justdosomegood to win some great swag. Remember to have courage and be kind and that’s how you stay On the Brighter Side.
