Thinking about upgrading your airplane before you sell it? You could spend thousands and still not get that money back.In this episode of The Malibu Guru Podcast, Joe sits down with Casey Aviation sales specialist Eric Earl to discuss which aircraft upgrades actually improve resale value—and which ones are better left for the next owner. They break down some of the biggest decisions aircraft owners face before bringing an airplane to market, including:• Should you install or upgrade onboard radar?• Is a new propeller worth the investment?• Should you overhaul an engine that is approaching TBO?• Will fresh paint or a new interior help the airplane sell?• Can a modern avionics panel increase value or speed up the sale?• Is it better to simply sell the aircraft as-is?The answer often comes down to timing. Upgrades can make an aircraft more attractive and help it sell faster, but most sellers will not recover the full cost, especially when the improvements are completed immediately before listing.Joe and Eric also explain why owners should consider upgrading earlier, enjoy the improvements during ownership, and bring a more desirable, ready-to-fly aircraft to market later. Are you preparing to sell your aircraft? Let us know which upgrades you are considering in the comments.Casey Aviation can help you evaluate your airplane, price it accurately, and develop a strategy to bring it to market.Learn more about Casey Aviation: www.flycasey.com

Kiwis are often told to look for the best deals on power, and they're not afraid to swap providers for a better price. So who's winning and who's losing the battle for those customers? Data from the Electricity Authority shows that Genesis Energy is the biggest loser here, with the company losing a net 35,015 customers in the year to June. Nova lost 9059, Manawa 3329 and Mercury 2706. On the opposite end, Contact gained 20,577, Electric Kiwi gained 11,590 and Meridian gained 10,288. (Riverton, WY) – After a wild and successful conclusion to the Babe Ruth Baseball State Tournament in Gillette, the Riverton 14U squad earned the opportunity to continue their summertime fun. Riverton finsihed their state run against the same Cheyenne team that had defeated them in last year’s championship game and had gotten the better of them earlier in 2026 pool-play. After playing five games in three days, neither team had many pitching options remaining. The scoreboard in the title game made that no secret. Riverton 25 Cheyenne 23. A championship and some revenge for the kids from the Rendezvous City. Head Coach Casey Parker and his athletes now prepare to head to Meridian, Idaho July 19-22 for the Pacific Northwest Regional Tournament. They’ll play against champs from Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. County 10 extended an invitation for the entire team to come join us for some interview fun. Greetings, Slushies! Today's encore edition features special guest editor, the Pulitzer Prize winning poet Gregory Pardlo. His most recent collection is called “Spectral Evidence.” Listen along to the discussion of two poems from Daniel Biegelson which were ultimately included in his book “Of Being Neighbors” from Ricochet Editions. Thanks, as always, for listening! On this week's episode of the Slush Pile, we review two prose poems by the author Daniel Biegelson labeled “Neighbors III” and “Neighbors IV”. Kathleen and the gang welcome Pulitzer Prize winner Gregory Pardlo to the editorial table for this very exciting iteration of the podcast. Everyone was intrigued to delve into the works Daniel Biegelson provided for us and were quite pleased to find that they offered interesting conversation. Daniel Biegelson is the author of the chapbook Only the Borrowed Light (VERSE) and Director of the Visiting Writers Series at Northwest Missouri State University. An Associate Editor for The Laurel Review, his poems have appeared in or are forthcoming from Cream City Review, Denver Quarterly, DIAGRAM, FIELD, Meridian, Salt Hill Journal, & Third Coast, among other places. He hails from New Jersey—a fact that means more to him than it probably should. Did these poets survive the gauntlet? Listen on to find out! Let us know what you think about these three poems and this episode on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook with #HelloNeighbor Present at the Editorial Table: Kathleen Volk Miller Marion Wrenn Tim Fitts Samantha Neugebauer Jason Schneiderman Engineering Producer: Joe Zang Derek Grebis Daniel Biegelson Neighbors (II) Replace Glass Heart with Scalpel. Call for rain. Glisten. Close up. Magnify a leaf until the drop brims with color. Replace leaf with wind. Every June we lose limbs to straight line winds—elm, maple, oak, ash, etc., etc. They come knocking at night. Redact redundancy. Extinguish the list. Insert space. Remove the catalog. Remove, stack, and mulch the dead wood. Map my internal geography. I am a bowl of cold plums. I am a body of words in uproar and otherwise. Replace words with birds. Fill a tree. Take your pick. Redact free will. Replace map with mine. Relieve the workers. Every day we leave labor(s) behind. Exchange labor(s) with neighbor(s).The dark soil laced with slim roots swells and subsides beneath us. As the tide. Breathing. Who are you. Extinguish the implicit. We are the answer. Some of us are no longer breathing. I am used to defending the singularity of our experiences, but grow concerned about reducing the dead to their individuality. Redact redeem. We linger longer in blue light. We are not what we say or do. Neighbors (III) Replace dog with brother. Take walks on burnt grass and return under treeless sky. Exchange directives for best practices. Practice your run along the fence line. Monarchs carry on along the highways lined with causal wildflowers. Extinguish your sense of silence. You let your dog shit in my yard. The ocean levels rise. Mortgage rates rise. Don't pretend to love one another. Turn your predatory beak. Redact the brackish ocean. Turn it black and red. Exchange ocean for consumption. Predatory lending of labor. Be still. We are the colony of bees in collapse and also the tractor trailer stocked with hives and the long driver on the CB radio and the farmers waiting for pollinators. See the red dust clouds rolling. See the black clouds closing. A tongue over a top lip. Bite hard and rain. Extinguish the dog barking. Redact the self. Exchange dog for children. Barking for howling. There is a wall beyond which our labor persists without us and we don't dare to look. Replace words with words. Yours or mine. We don't act upon what we see. Redact the sea. We are the murmurations leafing out over the highway. Pouring over the sky. We suffer decentered as we imagine stone. Human again. We don't know each other at all.

Meridian Energy's been granted fast track approval to take more water from Lake Pukaki. The Fast-track Panel's decision also grants permission to permanently install rock armour to boost resilience to wave erosion, when the lake's operating at lower levels. Major Electricity Users Group Executive Director Karen Boyes told Heather du Plessis-Allan that she has mixed feelings about the decision 'Some positive impacts possibly for consumers in the short term if we're using this water instead of fossil fuel fuels, but definitely some big concerns in the longer term.' Scaling New Heights Podcast: Cutting Edge Training For Small Business Advisors
On this episode of the Woodard Report podcast, Joe speaks with Jessica McKellar about her journey from studying computer science at MIT and building successful software startups to founding Pilot, a bookkeeping and accounting technology company. Jessica shares how Pilot evolved from solving the financial back-office challenges faced by entrepreneurs into a platform and explains how automation, AI, and value-based pricing are reshaping the economics of accounting firms. She also introduces Meridian, Pilot's new platform that enables autonomous bookkeeping, month-end close processes, and AI-assisted accounting workflows designed to help firms scale while improving both client and employee experiences. About Jessica McKellar Jessica McKellar is the co-founder and CEO of Pilot. She started the company with a simple conviction: small business owners shouldn't have to be their own bookkeeper, accountant, and financial advisor all at once. Today, Pilot serves more than 3,500 businesses, from neighborhood restaurants and retail shops to growing service businesses, helping owners get books off their plates so they can focus on what actually grows their company. Before Pilot, Jessica founded two other companies that were acquired by Oracle and Dropbox. She holds 3 degrees from MIT. Jessica also teaches programming at San Quentin State Prison and advocates for hiring formerly incarcerated people. She believes that excluding talented workers based on their records doesn't make business sense, and that second chances belong in the workplace too. What happens when an incentive plan looks polished on paper but has quietly drifted away from the business strategy it was supposed to support? In this episode of The Executive Compensation Podcast, Ryan Harvey, Virginia Rhodes, and Darren Moskovitz unpack how compensation committees can tell whether an incentive plan is truly reinforcing long-term value creation or simply rewarding motion, tradition, or internal comfort. The conversation explores the tension between shareholder value, executive behavior, financial metrics, strategic carve-outs, discretion, peer alignment, and transformation. Ryan, Virginia, and Darren discuss why incentive design should be tested against business strategy, why more metrics do not always create more clarity, and why the most defensible plans are often the ones that balance simplicity with judgment. In this episode, you will learn:How compensation committees can test whether incentive plans still support strategyWhy strategic outcomes and strategic behaviors are not always the same thingWhen non-financial or strategic metrics make sense inside an incentive planHow often committees should revisit incentive plan designWhy peer alignment should inform decisions without replacing business strategyHow disclosure changes may affect plan design, discretion, and long-term incentivesGood governance is not about having the most complex plan. It is about having one that management, shareholders, and the board can understand and defend over time.Subscribe for new episodes from Meridian Compensation Partners.Visit https://meridiancp.com to learn how Meridian works with boards on executive compensation decisions they can stand behind.
