Cyclops quits the X-Men! And hey, we don't blame him. This episode is kind of a stinker. But the X-Boyz are here to turn these lemons (bad XMTAS episode) into lemonade (a wildly enjoyable X-Boyz episode). And what better way to celebrate the worst episode of the series with our very worst special guest yet. "No Mutant Is An Island" is an anomaly of an episode that aired over two years after its intended release. More fun facts like this inside! Let's go back in time to season three of X-Men: The Animated Series, when Jean was way off in the universe somewhere protecting the M'Kraan Crystal. In this episode, Scott decides to quit the X-Men and go on a personal journey, revisiting the orphanage where he grew up. "No Mutant Is An Island" is definitely out of sequence, but it originally aired as part of season five, so that's when we're watching it. It's a fantastic episode with some dark themes that resonate, no matter where in sequence you choose to watch it. We also make an important announcement this week: the podcast is going to be weekly now! Or at least, we're going to try. Whew. X-Men Spotlight: Zebediah Killgrave Next week's episode: "Longshot" E-mail us your feedback at themutantages@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter at TheMutantAges, MIDImyers and RyanPagella. You know who Maddy and Ryan forgot about? Omega Red. The communist tentacle cyborg has returned to remind us that people used to spend a lot of time thinking about Soviet Union submarines armed with nuclear weapons. The prospect of nuclear war is still scary even now, but this episode isn't. Omega Red and Wolverine tie each other up in bondage, and in the background, Storm and Rogue have to do all the work. Beast recites poetry as usual, and Professor X tells everybody that if they have to die to save the world, that's fine with him. Just another episode of X-Men: The Animated Series! Ok, folks, this is where the episode order gets weird. This week we're covering two episodes: No Mutant Is An Island and Obsession. "But Jeremy! But Gary! No Mutant Is An Island is on the fifth DVD! Why are you covering it now?!" you ask. I hear you friend, but these were intended to be next, but due to major issues with the animation studio, they were aired drastically out of order. This is going to be a recurring trend from now until we the end of the series, so make sure to check out our schedule (http://www.daysoffuturecast.com/schedule) in order to watch along with the show. Be sure to check out the Patreon for ways to support the show and the network, and come talk trash about Gambit to Gary and Jeremy on Twitter. Thanks for listening!
