D23 2026: Marvel, Star Wars & Disney's Entertainment Future Part 2 | MOW 644 We're back with Part 2 of our D23 2026 Entertainment Showcase discussion! This time we're tackling Marvel, Star Wars, streaming, television, and games, including Avengers: Doomsday, X-Men, VisionQuest, Star Wars: Starfighter, Ahsoka Season 2, Kingdom Hearts, Marvel's Wolverine, and more. Could X-Men finally give the post-Endgame MCU its next identity? Is a new story with new characters exactly what Star Wars needs? And which D23 announcements actually made us more optimistic about Disney's entertainment future? Then we tackle the bigger question that emerged from our two-part discussion: Does Disney really have an originality problem—or do audiences keep rewarding the sequels and franchises they claim to be tired of? It's Marvel, Star Wars, and the future of Disney entertainment as we conclude our D23 2026 coverage! What are your thoughts? Email us at show@magicourway.com, call or text 815-MOWICAN (669-4226), or slide into our social media DMs. Every thought and opinion will forever be welcome on this Disney fan podcast. GTA VI is everywhere right now. The latest reveal happened on Netflix, and at this point it feels like the floodgates are completely open. New details and information seem to be coming out every single day, giving us even more to speculate about and talk about as we get closer to the game.Sony has also announced a double State of Play for September 3. The first presentation will cover a broad range of PS5 games before immediately rolling into a second presentation focused specifically on games from Japan and Asia. We already know we're getting an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, but there are plenty of rumors surrounding what else could show up. Could we finally see more of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet? Could Marvel's Wolverine make an appearance? We'll have to wait and see.And then there's the $900 PS5 Pro — which is now sold out across the United States. PlayStation Direct reportedly ran out after other major retailers had already sold through their stock. The timing is pretty interesting considering the GTA VI hype is reaching another level. So the question is: are people actually suddenly buying PS5 Pros because they want the best possible GTA VI experience, or is this simply GTA VI causing another massive hardware buying frenzy? Either way, it's a pretty interesting development for a console that has had a somewhat complicated reception.Visit www.patreon.com/psthisisawesome to support the show and help us continue producing the content you love! Please, if you enjoyed the content — or even if you didn't quite enjoy this one — come back. For this episode of Beat of the Month we take a look at the rest of the year and what games are coming out that deserve the hype game treatment! Of course, it's all bullshit because Brian wasn't on the episode. These fools talk about GTA 6 like it's a gift sent from heaven and yet as they discuss, none of them have even played any of the games since GTA 3, and they didn't even play that game much. Then they somehow leave out the biggest game of the year, Ocarina of Time Remake, and don't even mention it. Unbelievable. They do happen to get some things right with discussion about Silent Hill Townfall that they give about 30 seconds to and then the new Castlevania game which should be pretty good. Wolverine getting a bit too much hype train treatment but as you all know hype train gonna do what it does best. No one reads this bullshit anyway so I can say whatever I want here. Spiral thinks he's hot shit in Fantasy Draft with Onimusha and some other bullshit getting good scores, but Ocarina of Time and Order of the Sinking Star (another game they omitted from talking about) are going to turn things around really quick.Anyway, grab your headphones and join this damn shit show for the next hour and some odd minutes. With the X-Men scattered across different eras after the events of Season 1, Cyclops, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Rogue, Storm, Beast, Magneto, and the rest of the team must find their way home while confronting new dangers, including the arrival of Apocalypse. With returning voices including Ray Chase, Jennifer Hale, Alison Sealy-Smith, Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza, Matthew Waterson, and Ross Marquand, we're breaking down the latest chapter of this beloved revival and asking whether Season 2 can match the extraordinary heights of its predecessor. In this episode, Shelby and Laura review One Night Only, the new RomCom directed by Will Gluck and starring Callum Turner and Monica Barbaro. We dissect the film's ambitious no-premarital-sex premise and whether the characters' whirlwind journey through New York City actually makes sense. We also talk about why we loved that Owen and Allie have such unique jobs, how refreshing it is to see an original RomCom in theaters, and why we appreciated the movie's big swings—even if the world-building and execution didn't always land perfectly. Plus, we share our thoughts on the stars' chemistry and hijinks and, of course, discuss why we are absolutely obsessed with Callum Turner's real-life relationship with pop star Dua Lipa!Interested in more movie reviews? 404 Coyote vs Acme Lives Wolverine Carnage Dolly Parton Tim Curry Peter CullenDoom Scrolling IntroThe Foos are back after a night at The Glass House seeing Spineshank and (hed) p.e., complete with an aging-but-still-functioning mosh pit, brewery stops, stouts, cider, and late-night al pastor burritos. Then the fast-food nostalgia wars continue. The Hello Kitty x Godzilla McDonald's collection is almost complete, Burger King is coming after millennials with Dragon Ball Super toys, Jack in the Box may have a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror takeover coming, and Krispy Kreme already got them with Pokémon. Apparently adults with disposable income are the new Happy Meal demographic. Before Geeking Out, Joe and Steph pay tribute to three icons lost this week: Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, and Peter Cullen. They look back at Dolly's music, philanthropy and surprising Buffy connection; Tim Curry's legendary roles from Rocky Horror and Clue to Pennywise; and Peter Cullen's unmistakable Optimus Prime voice and the touching story behind how he created it.Geeking Out starts with Coyote vs. Acme finally making it into theaters after nearly becoming a tax write-off. The Foos revisit the bizarre road that nearly buried the completed Looney Tunes movie and why its survival became bigger than the movie itself. Then Marvel's Wolverine turns the violence all the way up ahead of its PS5 release, with dismemberment, brutal combat and Logan behaving exactly like Wolverine should. EA's long-missing Iron Man game also resurfaces after unfinished gameplay leaks online, finally proving the project still exists.Star Wars gets tactical with Zero Company, a turn-based Clone Wars-era game that Joe immediately compares to XCOM. Steph also dives into the newest extended look at GTA VI, including Vice City, Jason and Lucia, preorder bonuses and the question everyone still has: is this game actually going to release? They close Geeking Out with the sad news that Tippett Studio is shutting down after 35 years, marking the end of another major piece of practical-effects history tied to Star Wars, RoboCop, Starship Troopers and more. Plus, LA Comic Con costume planning begins with April O'Neil, Casey Jones and the increasingly dangerous possibility of Joe showing up as Raphael in a trench coat. Here's What I Would Do brings two career dilemmas: Marcus in Pasadena finally lands his dream job, only to learn everyone he trusts says the company is miserable to work for. Anthony in El Monte faces something even heavier — his family expects him to take over the restaurant his grandparents started, but preserving the family legacy might mean giving up the career and life he actually wants.ChaptersDoom Scrolling IntroSpineshank + (hed) p.e. at The Glass HouseGodzilla Hello Kitty collection + Dragon Ball Burger KingSimpsons Jack in the Box + Pokémon Krispy KremeFatality Dolly PartonFatality Tim CurryFatality Peter Cullen Optimus PrimeCoyote vs Acme finally hits theatersMarvel Wolverine PS5 brutalityLeaked Iron Man game footageStar Wars Zero CompanyGTA VI extended lookTippett Studio closes after 35 yearsLA Comic Con costume planningHere's What I Would Do Dream job with terrible reputationHere's What I Would Do Taking over the family restaurantOutro + Doom Scrolling OutroCoyote vs Acme, Marvel Wolverine, Wolverine PS5, Iron Man game, Star Wars Zero Company, GTA VI, Tippett Studio, Dolly Parton, Tim Curry, Peter Cullen, Optimus Prime, Dragon Ball Burger King, Hello Kitty Godzilla, The Foobar Show

Today's episode is a special bonus from our recent Confidence Summit, which brought together nine professional speakers, entrepreneurs, and world-class athletes to share practical strategies for developing confidence. In this episode, you'll hear two powerful conversations with Olympians Paul Juda and Kendell Williams about what it takes to trust yourself when the pressure is highest. Paul Juda is an Olympic bronze medalist who helped Team USA earn its first Olympic men's gymnastics team medal in 16 years at the Paris Olympic Games. A standout at the University of Michigan, Paul is an NCAA all-around champion, multiple-time NCAA individual champion, and helped lead the Wolverines to an NCAA national championship. Kendell Williams is a two-time Olympian and elite multi-event track athlete. She made NCAA history as the first woman to win four consecutive titles in the same event at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and has competed successfully at the collegiate, Olympic, and World Championship levels. Their experiences reveal an important truth about confidence: it is built long before the defining moment. Paul shares how he moved away from trying to look confident and instead focused on creating evidence that he was prepared. After falling short of the 2021 Olympic team, he became more intentional about his mental reps, visualization, preparation, and learning to trust his process. That work eventually helped him perform under enormous pressure as Team USA captured an historic bronze medal in Paris. Kendell experienced her own confidence battle heading toward the Tokyo Olympics. After the pandemic disrupted training and competition, self-doubt started affecting the way she practiced, competed, and thought about herself. She shares the mental tools she used to rebuild her confidence, including stopping automatic negative thoughts, using Learn-Burn-Return to move forward from mistakes, creating a "fitness bank" of evidence that she was prepared, using power phrases, and shifting her attention toward controllable process goals. When her first day at the Tokyo Olympics didn't go as planned, those tools helped her reset, return confidently on day two, and climb to a fifth-place finish. In this episode, you'll learn: Why Paul believes real confidence is quiet and built through preparation. How trying to appear confident can create additional pressure. Why mental reps matter alongside physical preparation. How visualization helped Paul prepare for the biggest moments of his career. How Kendell uses Learn-Burn-Return to recover quickly from mistakes. How to interrupt automatic negative thoughts before they damage your confidence. Why building a bank of evidence can remind you how prepared you really are. How power phrases can strengthen your self-talk in high-pressure moments. Why process goals can reduce anxiety around outcomes. How bronze, silver, and gold goals can help you pursue excellence while staying grounded. Why confidence ultimately comes from doing the work required to trust yourself. These conversations originally appeared as part of Cindra's Confidence Summit, featuring nine speakers, entrepreneurs, and world-class athletes. You can also get access to the complete 4.5-hour Confidence Summit as a bonus when you purchase Cindra's new book, The Confidence Habit. Karan and Roshan's real-life romance inspired their film A Nice Indian Boy, and the success of the Hollywood/Bollywood romcom has healed many family rifts on the way.Karan Soni is an Indian actor famous for playing supporting roles in films like Deadpool & Wolverine. He had moved to the US for college before becoming an actor, but, despite coming out in his teens, felt he had to keep his sexuality a secret to make it in Hollywood. Roshan Sethi is a Canadian oncologist and scriptwriter from an Indian family, who didn't come out till the age of 30. But when the pair met through an online dating app, things began to change. They ended up making a Hollywood/Bollywood-inspired romcom that closely resembled their own story – about a gay Indian-American doctor finding love. Karan is in the lead role, alongside musical theatre star Jonathan Groff, and Roshan is directing. Making this film, and sharing it with their families, has helped to address some of the issues both Karan and Roshan experienced as gay men from South Asian communities. This story was first on BBC World Service radio last year - when the Lives Less Ordinary team decided to create the Love Stories season, we knew we had to include it!Presenter: Sophia Smith Galer Producer: Helen FitzhenryLives Less Ordinary is a podcast from the BBC World Service that brings you the most incredible true stories from around the world. Full show notes: https://bengreenfieldlife.com/504 In this solosode, you'll get the latest research on three questions I keep getting asked. First, seed oils: a brand-new randomized controlled trial put 52 adults on either a low or a typical Western intake of linoleic acid for 12 weeks, and the results are important less for what they found than for what they didn't. You'll hear why arachidonic acid didn't move, why EPA dropped instead, what that does to your inflammatory balance, which seed oils I still think are worth avoiding, and the one dietary adjustment that matters most if seed oils are part of your diet. You'll also learn the surprisingly small amount of strength training that delivers the biggest longevity payoff, according to a 30-year study of more than 147,000 people, plus why pairing it with cardio is the single best exercise combination for blood pressure. I break down concurrent training, the interference effect between AMPK and mTOR, and when combining strength and cardio in one session helps you versus when it holds you back. Finally, I answer a listener question on peptides with six practical rules for stacking them safely, including which ones should never share a syringe, which ones cancel each other out at the receptor, and an honest look at how thin the human evidence really is behind the popular Wolverine stack.
