We're back with our full Peacemaker Season 2 Episode 6 review—and this is the episode we've been waiting for! Titled “Ignorance Is Chris,” this chapter delivers big surprises, sharp pacing, and one of the most chilling alternate earth reveals in the entire DCU. Add in the perfectly executed Lex Luthor cameo, and we might finally be seeing Peacemaker Season 2 hit its stride. But before diving into the review, we kick things off with a cold open about superhero video games. We discuss the upcoming Insomniac Wolverine game (featuring villains like Omega Red and Sentinels), WB/DC's lack of strong video game titles, the cancellation of the Wonder Woman game, and our hopes for a truly great Superman game one day. Then it's on to Peacemaker 2x06! We break down the best scenes, action, and character moments while pointing out the season's ongoing flaws—like the overly short runtimes and pacing issues that could've been fixed by combining earlier episodes. Still, if Episodes 7 and 8 can match the quality of Episode 6, Peacemaker Season 2 could finish strong.

Expect meaningful counters to Logan's healing and a global thriller feel. Tombstone casting locks in Marvin Jones III, a performer with the presence to anchor Spider-Man's street-level stakes without tipping into pure fan service. Mandalorian and Grogu looks like a pulpy, planet-hopping romp built for IMAX with classic imagery and bigger set pieces. Alien Earth nails mood and performances but ends the season too abruptly, landing closer to incomplete than cliffhanger. Gen V season two returns with sharp ideas about image and control, a compelling new dean, and messy human beats that set the table for a stronger mid-season run. Quotes “You're going to feel like you're playing a God of War-ish game.” “There are definitely things that can slow him down, and they're setting this game up to make every decision feel impactful.” “This looks like old adventure energy, the kind of poster that sparks your imagination.” “There's a difference between cliffhanger and incomplete. This felt incomplete.” “It's a bold but messy return for Gen V.” Call to Action If you enjoyed this episode, follow the show, rate us 5 stars, and leave a short review to help more geeks find us. Deadpool & Wolverine Movie Reaction: • DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE MOVIE REACTION! FIRST... Greg Alba & Aaron Alexander break down the newly dropped Marvel's Wolverine gameplay trailer from Sony's State of Play. Developed by Insomniac Games (the studio behind Marvel's Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2), this action-adventure PS5 exclusive is scheduled for Fall 2026. The trailer teases brutal, bloody claw combat, visceral animations, rage meter mechanics, and Wolverine pushing through his haunted past to uncover a larger mystery. Story & tone: Logan (Wolverine) is digging into his past, facing internal rage and external enemies. Expect darker, mature storytelling and grotesque violence. Confirmed characters / mythos: • Wolverine / James “Logan” Howlett – main playable hero. • Mystique – confirmed for the cast. • Omega Red – one of the villains listed. Because Insomniac's Wolverine sits in the same world as their Spider-Man games, there's speculation of potential crossover, Easter eggs, or shared lore threads with upcoming MCU projects like Avengers: Doomsday and the future X-Men reboot. If you love Wolverine, mature Marvel games, or are excited for a darker, visceral take from Insomniac (post-Spider-Man), this video is for you. Episode 45 - Murdock and Marvel: 1997 Part 2 We've got a pretty quiet week in comic terms, partly because everything has gone completely to the dogs, and there is a lot less happening than there was a few years ago. Still, I was surprised to find that 1997 had some pretty great things going on under the surface! This is part 2 of the podcast. that will feature the year in Daredevil, the Spotlight story and the Takeaway for 1997. The Year in Daredevil Appearances: Daredevil #360-370, Daredevil #-1, Adventures of Spider-Man #10, Bug #1, Code of Honor #2-4, Punisher #17-18, Venom: On Trial #1-3, Marvel Valentine Special #1, Silver Surfer #128, Essential Spider-Man #2, Electra #-1, Ka-Zar #5 and 8, Uncanny Origins #13, Elektra #10-11 and 13, Marvel Heroes & Legends 1997 #1, Spider-Man El Hombre Arana #30, Spider-Man Unlimited #18, Thunderbolts #8 along with Daredevil/Batman, Untold Tales of Spider-Man '97, Kingpin, Origin of Marvel Comics Revised Edition and Son of Origins of the Marvel Comics Revised Edition graphic novels Writing: Karl Kesel (#360-364), Joe Kelly (#365-370 and #-1) Pencils: Cary Nord (#360-362, 364-365), Gene Colan (#363, -1, 366-368, 370), Ariel Olivetti (#369) Inks: Matt Ryan (#360-362, 364-365, -1), Cam Smith and Paul Neary (#363), Al Williamson (#366), Bud LaRosa (#367-368, 370), Pier Brito (#369) The year begins with Daredevil taking on the Absorbing Man as he tries to take down NYC with no Avengers to stop him. While that's going on, we learn why Foggy was so keen on partnering with Rosalind Sharpe – she's his biological mother. And it's Sharpe who thinks Foggy and the firm need to play up Foggy's “best bud” status with Daredevil – which leads to work for the firm as Molten Man (Mark Raxton) seeks help with break-ins at Osborne Chemicals. Daredevil is reunited with the Black Widow as the pair take down the Grey Gargoyle. We learn a bit about Rosalind's Sharpe's past after Daredevil saves her from an armed man in the firm's lobby then follow's her to visit the gangster responsible. Next we get a multi-book story involving a new villainous, Insomnia – he's try to keep Daredevil and the rest of New York up at night. We eventually learn she's working for Mr Fear – who himself is causing trouble by enlisting a friend of Molten Man to release a gas during a Osborn Chemicals boardroom meeting which causes Raxton to freak out and start tearing the place apart. Before we can get a resolution to Mr Fear, we get a Flashback issue of Daredevil (Daredevil #-1) in which Jack Murdock is taking his son Matt to college. This story, from writer Joe Kelly and art by Gene Colan and Matt Ryan is a lot of fun and will be our spotlight story of the week. Returning back to present time, Daredevil must, once again, deal with Mr Fear's plotting – this time on Ryker's Island when Fear releases a gas to start a prison riot. Daredevil must then take on new and improved Gladiator. (what happened to fear???) The year ends with a multi-book storyline called “widow's Kiss” that starts with Daredevil helping a firm client who's facing a hostile takeover by the Russians – only to have to tangle Omega Red. Black Widow comes to the aid of Daredevil only to then shoot him herself. She tries then save DD by bring him to Karen for help, before returning to meet with a Russian general we eventually learn she's trying to take down. Despite just being shot, Daredevil goes after Widow and gets the pair captured. The story ends Daredevil escapes and convinces Ursa Major and Vanguard that they are being used by the General – and that he's being running experiments on Vanguards sister – Darkstar. One other secondary story that ran through much of the year involves Foggy and Liz Osborne. Rosalind Sharpe isn't pleased with their relationship and continually tries to undermine it – with other women. In the final book of the year Foggy and Liz's attempt to have a romantic evening together is derailed when he receives a constant stream of phone calls from other women. "I do not yearn for an easy life, Magneto. Only a just one." These third and fourth installments of X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES' second season are representative of a revised story structure, adopted at the behest of the Fox Kids executives. Gone is the single, unbroken heavily serialized narrative approach of the first season, wherein episodes that weren't explicitly identified as multi-partners still ended in cliffhangers and flowed directly into the next adventure. This was especially pronounced in the midseason, when animation errors forced delays and the airing of episodes out of script order. Fox understandably wanted to avoid such problems by having the freedom to air episodes as they became available, rather than in a strict sequence. Their edict called for more one-and-one episodes and fewer multi-part stories in general. Knowing that the show's loyal fanbase had certain expectations of an elevated presentation for a Saturday morning cartoon, showrunner Eric LeWald and the production staff came up with an ingenious workaround. Professor Xavier and Magneto's diversion in the Savage Land was conceived as a single episode, to be animated all at once, but written in such a way that it could be easily edited and inserted as segments in other episodes, and therefore serialized across the entire season. These interstitial cutaway scenes did not have to adhere to a rigid order, as long as they generally conveyed the pair being continuously imperiled in some way while narrowly escaping with their lives. Thus, the network's demands were fulfilled while still allowing for a season-long "wraparound" storyline. Without meaning to, this would be one of the ways the series was brought into closer alignment with the subplot-heavy nature of the contemporary comics. In particular, "Whatever It Takes" serves as the first episode to feature distinct A, B, and C-plots for the series. Storm and Rogue's tussle with the Shadow King takes center stage, but Wolverine's solo outing provides a follow-up to the loose end of Morph's return, while drawing a line under his status (for now). Finally, as something akin to a back-up strip in comics, Professor X and Magneto send the episode out by finding themselves in a new, exotic setting and establishing their pattern for the season. Even if nothing critically important is happening, the rapid-fire pace and juggling of plots makes for an easy, immersive watch. With more episodic, single installment A-plots doing the heavy lifting in season two, X-MEN's creative team uses this as an opportunity to explore the cast in greater depth. The result is a round of rotating character spotlights, once again drawing heavily upon the lore of then-recent comics. Whereas the season opening explored Scott and Jean's background with the revelation of Mr. Sinister as a presence menacing them from behind the scenes since childhood, Storm and returning guest star Colossus would receive similar treatment in "Whatever It Takes" and "Red Dawn," respectively. Flashbacks are employed generously to show, if not outright origin tales, pivotal moments from these characters' pasts. Wolverine, Gambit, Rogue, and Beast will each get their turn at such character-centered episodes over the course of the season. This exemplifies an evolution of the show's mission, from successfully selling the X-Men collectively as a fighting team to endearing the young broadcast audience ever more to its individual members. When talking to X-Men loyalists of a certain age to this day, there's a reason why they point to the animated series -- and, whether or not they recall the exact details, this run of episodes -- as the common denominator that made them fans of the characters for life. X-TRA: In more comics-related synergy, issues on sale in the month of these episode airings feature Scott and Jean getting engaged. Their nuptials would go a bit smoother in print than the version seen on screen. Conversely, Colossus receives much kinder treatment in animated form. His second appearance in "Red Dawn" comes just a few months after the longtime X-Man joined Magneto's Acolytes, itself the culmination of a series of personal blows in which Colossus lost his brother, parents, and sister in short order. One such tragedy also involved a confrontation with Omega Red in only his second comics story.

Cyclops is Waiting for Me - An X-Men: The Animated Series Weekly Recap
Getting our Wolverine-focused episode of the season, we get to see X23 in action again along with the debut of Evolution's versions of Omega Red and Madam Hydra (a.k.a. Viper) and the only ever appearance of Gauntlet. As Rod points out, this is full fledge super hero action and (mostly) a full move away from the high school drama of the early seasons. And we are pretty sure X23 takes out full squads of Hydra soldiers. Cyclops is Waiting for Me is our weekly podcast series where we are going back and watching EVERY-SINGLE-X-MEN-ANIMATED-EPISODE we can find. This podcast started with the original 1992 X-Men: The Animated Series building up to the release of X-Men ‘97. Along the way, we've also launched our companion show The Xavier Files with interviews of members of the X-Men community including voice actors from the series! Since season 2 of X-Men ‘97 is now a ways off, we are returning for the second half of our first watch through of X-Men: Evolution. The First Year of The Ultimate Universe is nearing the end. And in 2025, The Ultimate Wolverine Dawns the Second Year! (FROM MARVEL PR) Just now at New York Comic Con's Marvel Comics: Next Big Thing Panel, the biggest comics panel of the weekend, Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, writer Chris Condon, and more revealed the next ongoing series coming to Marvel's hit new Ultimate Universe. Joining acclaimed titles ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN, ULTIMATE BLACK PANTHER, ULTIMATE X-MEN, and ULTIMATES is… ULTIMATE WOLVERINE! Hitting stands in January, ULTIMATE WOLVERINE will be written by rising star Chris Condon (That Texas Blood, VENOM WAR: DAREDEVIL) and drawn by MOON KNIGHT powerhouse artist Alessandro Cappuccio. True to the character's origin as a government weapon, Ultimate Wolverine is an unwilling agent of the Maker, the secret creator of this corrupt universe. Mindwiped and used as an assassin, he's still the best there is as at what he does… even if he's not in control of who he does it to. “When Wil Moss called me and asked me if I wanted to take on this title, I jumped at the chance and immediately had an idea of what to do with it,” said Condon. “I'm bringing my essence of storytelling from That Texas Blood to the Marvel Universe with Wolverine, looking back at what came before and bringing us something new." “You might notice that there's a Red Star on his costume and you might wonder why,” he continued. “If you look at that mask, there's a muzzle on him, and that's because he's wild.” In order to maintain control of their corner of the Maker's world, three members of his council – Magik, Colossus and Omega Red – deploy their most lethal asset: The Winter Soldier! But WHO is the weapon behind the mask? THE MAKER'S ULTIMATE WEAPON! Before ULTIMATE WOLVERINE arrives in January, readers will see him in action for the first time in a prelude story by Condon and Cappuccio in ULTIMATE UNIVERSE: ONE YEAR IN #1, the special one-shot that concludes the first year of Marvel's new Ultimate Universe and sets up the next year of stories, including the Maker's long-awaited return! We talk some of the key X-Men video games from 1989's NES mess to the latest releases (and some that aren't coming out until 2030!) before we turn our attention to the the world of X-Men Mutant Apocalypse from Capcom and its promo / tie-in semi-prequel comic from Jim Krueger and Karl Kerschl that sees the team tangle with a host of villains (real and imaginary). This week on the Everything Actioncast, Zach and Chris smash their way back to 2009 to discuss the Marvel animated feature, Hulk Vs.Celebrating its 15th anniversary this week, Hulk Vs. was one of several Marvel animated movies produced by Lionsgate, starting with Ultimate Avengers in 2006. Hulk Vs. is actually two short films combined into one feature, Hulk vs Thor and Hulk vs Wolverine. Zach and Chris talk about Loki's convoluted plan to weaponize the Hulk, the excellent voice cast, Hulk vs Wolverine being a better origin movie for Logan than X-Men Origins: Wolverine (which also came out in 2009), the drastically different levels of violence between the two movies and more. If you want to see Hulk Vs., you'll have to find a physical copy as it's currently unavailable to stream, rent, or purchase anywhere digitally.Next week, we're talking about Kingsman: The Secret Service to prepare for the latest Matthew Vaughn movie, Argylle, hitting theaters next Friday. We want to hear your comments and feedback. We're back in the USSR! Omega Red returns with revenge on his mind. You know times are tough when Maddy and Ryan start saying they miss when the Wolverine anime was about Omega Red. Hard to believe, right? That's the only conclusion to be had after watching "Vadhaka, a.k.a Statue," a bizarre boss battle between a magical statue and Wolverine, followed by a maze in the sewers that ends with Min introducing Logan to Yukio's grandfather. Logan learns a lot more about Yukio's backstory and the circumstances of her parents' death, although he takes an extremely long time to realize that he's listening to a story about Yukio. Funniest part of the episode, except for the five seconds of Kikyo kicking ass. In the "Asano" episode of the Wolverine anime, Logan insists that his fight with Omega Red was "not a complete waste of time." Maddy and Ryan beg to differ in their review. Also, as of this week, Kikyo returns to fight Logan again, but by this point, we're pretty sure they're friends? Or ... more than friends? Omega Red and Wolverine have a lot of unresolved sexual tension in this episode, which amounts to a series of fight scenes in which nothing ever gets resolved between them. Half of those fight scenes are in flashback with a voiceover from a nameless SHIELD agent identifying who Omega Red is, and what his powers are. See if you can guess whether Maddy and Ryan enjoyed this episode! The Wolverine anime might be getting worse with each passing episode, but onward we go ... or perhaps upward, since most of this episode takes place on a rooftop. Wolverine (and his new pal Yukio) meets and fights a brand-new character named Kikyo, who is a beautiful bishonen hired by Shingen as an assassin. That's the first half of the episode; the second half is a failed drug drop that Logan and Yukio interrupt with Molotov cocktails, only to be interrupted themselves by the Molotov cocktail of Wolverine's love life: Omega Red!!! Why is he here? Once again, we don't know. The Superhero Show Show #465X-Men: The Animated Series presents Omega Red on IceThe Taste Buds review the return of Omega Red on X-Men: The Animated Series on an all-new Superhero Show Show! On an all-new, all-different episode of The Superhero Show Show, Cassie and the Boyz don't have any new television to watch for the third week in a row. With Snowpiercer postponed indefinitely and without a home, the Taste Buds turn to an old standby, X-Men: The Animated Series. with the episode A Deal With the Devil! The United States government, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to track down the frozen body of X-Menenmy Omega Red. The plan is to use Omega Red to take control of Russian missiles, and he's the only one that can survive the mission. But Omega Red has a condition of his own: Wolverine and Storm of the X-Men have to come with him! They are the people most responsible for his defeat in the last episode he's in, so this is a good revenge I guess. They say that revenge is a dish best served cold, and Omega Red is always cold, because he's Russian. As everyone knows, it snows constantly on every inch of Russia. Storm and Wolverine are pretty quickly defeated, so Professor X has to choose two more mutants to go after them. Who does he choose? Will one of them win the MVP award for the episode? And how many awards will Omega Red win? It can't be zero, right? And don't forget to tune in next week, when the podcast is watching another episode of X-Men: The Animated Series, and this one is focused on Cyclops! Cyclops is Waiting for Me - An X-Men: The Animated Series Weekly Recap
Originally an episode that wasn't even supposed to exist but thankfully does because it gave us the chance to crossover with Shawn DePasquale of the Oh Mr. Sheffield podcast and Bunny Ears fame. Omega Red is brought back under the supervision of the American government to help decomission a sunken Soviet submarine off the coast of Hawaii. He won't do it without the help of his old foe Wolverine and the woman who froze him in ice, Storm. Hilarity ensues. Cyclops is Waiting for Me is our weekly podcast series where we are going back and watching EVERY-SINGLE-EPISODE of the original 1992 X-Men: The Animated Series in their original intended script order building up to the release of X-Men 97', coming to Disney Plus. "Cyclops is Waiting for Me" Theme written and performed by Ron Wasserman (ASCAP) and Rod Kim (ASCAP) All our links: https://linktr.ee/cyclopsiwfmpod
In Part Two of our X-Force "double-header", we see Frasier and Lilith arguing before the Quiet Council about whether or not they ought to bring back Omega Red (already), while Forge finds himself attacked by the Hentai Helmet! It's a fun issue, and a better-than-decent return to the x-ploits of our Mutant CIA.
