By offering nothing except continual massacre for the Palestinians, and attempting to subjugate the surrounding areas to its will, Israel finds itself “in a predicament of its own making”, argues former Israeli adviser Daniel Levy. Levy, president of the US/Middle East Project, tells host Steve Clemons that Israel has put Arab leaders in a bind, as regional disgust grows towards Israel for its war crimes in Gaza. And while Western governments and cultural institutions have been carrying water for Israel for decades, argues Levy, some have begun “acknowledging things they worked hard not to acknowledge for an awfully long time.” Subscribe to our channel: http://bit.ly/AJSubscribe Follow us on X : https://twitter.com/AJEnglish Find us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/aljazeera Check our website: http://www.aljazeera.com/ Check out our Instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/aljazeeraenglish/ Download AJE Mobile App: https://aje.io/AJEMobile #aljazeera #aljazeeraenglish #aljazeeranewslive

Bill, Joe, and David unpack Israel's controversial decision to occupy Gaza City nearly two years into the war. From the absence of a viable “day after” plan and the Arab world's refusal to police the Strip to the political, military, and diplomatic costs of Israel enmeshing itself deeper into Gaza, they examine whether or not this move can actually weaken Hamas.
Last night, the White House announced that it will use federal law enforcement officers to patrol Washington D.C. in a striking escalation of the administration's antagonism towards the city's locally controlled government. It comes as Trump has threatened in recent days to federalize the city and take over its police force in response to an attempted carjacking that injured a staffer in the Trump administration. But there's a bigger picture, too: A pivot on the part of the administration to refocus its message on the “law and order” issues where they feel the safest politically. Where do things go from here? Playbook's Adam Wren breaks it all down with POLITICO White House reporter Megan Messerly. That, plus Texas' redistricting melee scrambles the state's marquee U.S. Senate race, and how the White House is thinking about the prospect of a one-on-one meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Send us a textRyan Reynolds has performed a miracle with Deadpool & Wolverine, crafting what feels like an extended apology letter to fans who've suffered through the MCU's recent disappointments. This isn't just another superhero movie – it's a statement that someone at Marvel finally understands what audiences have been craving all along. The film thrives on the undeniable chemistry between Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, creating a dynamic that's both hilariously antagonistic and surprisingly emotional. What makes this pairing work so brilliantly is how the film doesn't shy away from acknowledging the questionable decision to resurrect Wolverine after his perfect send-off in Logan. Instead, it leans into the absurdity through its multiverse framework, while simultaneously mocking the very concept that has become Marvel's narrative crutch.Where Deadpool & Wolverine truly shines is in its willingness to be unabashedly entertaining without the burden of social commentary that has weighed down recent Marvel entries. The film is packed with cameos and references that reward longtime fans, from Wesley Snipes reclaiming his role as Blade to Channing Tatum finally getting his chance to play Gambit. These moments feel like genuine celebrations of Marvel's cinematic history rather than cheap nostalgia bait. While some references might be too niche for casual viewers, they demonstrate a deep respect for the source material and the fans who've remained loyal despite the studio's recent missteps. If this marks Marvel's return to prioritizing entertainment over messaging, it couldn't have come at a better time. Subscribe to our podcast for more honest takes on the latest blockbusters and let us know if you think this signals Marvel's comeback! Support the show

BRING IRISH & CELTIC MUSIC TO THE WORLD FOR 20 YEARS On July 28, 2005, I released the very first episode of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast. This was not my first podcast. There were four others that I released first. All of them are still available to this day. Though one podfaded. When I started, I was publishing the Celtic Music Magazine every week. I started podcasting to promote Celtic bands, but mostly I wanted to promote my own band, Brobdingnagian Bards. It was a new and exciting way to get my music heard. But something happened along the way. It became less and less about my band and more about how I could help bands be heard. And it worked. In fact, I featured a total of 79 Celtic bands in the months that followed in 2005. That includes Brobdingnagian Bards and my Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers project. Here are some of the bands who were featured. 1: Susan Hamlin, Three Quarter Ale, Dust Rhinos, Cluan, Fathom, The BorderCollies, Tara's Fire, Paul McKenna, Marc Gunn & The Dubliners' Tabby Cats, Brobdingnagian Bards 2: StoneRing, The Slip, Hugh Morrison, Caladh, MacTalla Mor, Lenahan, The Bloody Irish Boys, Vicki Swan & Jonny Dyer, Celtic Stone 3: The Barley Boys, Contea, Queen's Gambit, Highland Fling, Michael Murphy and the River Shannon Band, Amadan, Raymond McCullough, Bow Triplets, The Rogues 4: The Irish Experience, Cairde na Gael, The Black Irish, Avalon Rising, Heather Gilmer and Jeff Moore, Sarah Dinan, Bedlam Bards, Emerald Rose, Kristen Roger, Heather Dale, Serious Kitchen, Empty Hats 5: Rise, Ed Miller, Tullamore, Paisley Close, Cantiga, Thomas "Doc" Grauzer, Cady Finlayson, Rimbo, Don Grieve, Black 47 6: Moch Pryderi, Enter the Haggis, The Patched Hats, Seelie Court, Eric Benson with The Boatrights, Ali Benson, 3 Pints Gone, Sligo Rags, Angel's Share 7: The Tea Merchants, Keltic Kaleidoscope, Brothers 3, EJ Jones, Shays Rebellion, Marc Gunn 8: Niamh Parsons, Flook, Willie McCulloch, Gan Fidil, Pol Mac Adaim, The Elders 9: Tears for Beers, Clandestine, Stonering, Athas, Carl Peterson You can see the full list on the website. Many of these artists are no longer performing. What's more interesting is that about a quarter of these artists are still making new music to this day. Today, I will highlight some of the amazing Celtic bands that are still performing after 15 - 20 years. I started my list with three perennial favorites of mine who've been on the show for a long time and are still performing: Poitin, Ed Miller, and The Gothard Sisters. Admittedly, The Gothard Sisters were a late addition to the show, coming on in 2010. But of all the bands, they are to me a shining beacon of this podcast. Because you can see them grow and develop as musicians and songwriters over the course of this show. So I had to include them. THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST! China's automotive industry is heading for the biggest shakeout in history, and NIO just made a massive bet that could either secure their survival or destroy them completely. With Chinese brands targeting 33% of global market share by 2030, the competition is absolutely brutal. Here's what most people don't know: Out of 70 active Chinese automakers, only 15% of factories are running at profitable capacity. The price wars have been devastating - average car prices dropped significantly in 2024 and are still under pressure in 2025. Meanwhile, China's auto exports have exploded to $37.3 billion in just the first five months of 2025, with exports to UAE alone surging 551%.NIO is launching two new brands - Onvo for mass market and Firefly for compact EVs - right as this consolidation accelerates. Industry experts predict only about a dozen Chinese automakers will survive long-term. BYD already controls 27% of China's EV market through vertical integration, while Tesla Shanghai runs at 96% capacity utilization. The question is: Will NIO's diversification strategy help them claim one of those final survivor spots, or are they stretching themselves too thin just as the market gets most competitive? We break down the capacity utilization crisis, export opportunities, and what this means for NIO's future. This isn't just about EVs vs gas cars anymore - it's about which companies can scale efficiently enough to survive the most competitive automotive market in human history. The next 18 months will determine everything for NIO and the entire Chinese EV sector.#NIO #ChineseEVs #ElectricVehicles #BYD #Tesla #EVInvesting #AutomotiveIndustry #MarketAnalysis #CourtsiideFinancial

Emerging from an award-winning article in International Security, China's Gambit examines when, why, and how China attempts to coerce states over perceived threats to its national security. Since 1990, China has used coercion for territorial disputes and issues related to Taiwan and Tibet, yet China is curiously selective in the timing, target, and tools of coercion. This book offers a new and generalizable cost-balancing theory to explain states' coercion decisions. It demonstrates that China does not coerce frequently and uses military coercion less when it becomes stronger, resorting primarily to non-militarized tools. Leveraging rich empirical evidence, including primary Chinese documents and interviews with Chinese and foreign officials, this book explains how contemporary rising powers translate their power into influence and offers a new framework for explaining states' coercion decisions in an era of economic interdependence, particularly how contemporary global economic interdependence affects rising powers' foreign security policies. President Trump has commendable understood – and rejected – efforts by champions of “global governance” like the World Health Organization to foist upon Americans international agreements that would crush our sovereignty and personal freedoms. To his great credit, Mr. Trump has given notice that the U.S. is withdrawing from the WHO. But it won't be effective until next January. In the meantime, the globalists are hoping he won't formally reject their bid to advance world government via a pact giving the organization's leader the right unilaterally to declare international public health emergencies – and dictate what must be done about them. Think the WHO's disastrous COVID-19 response on steroids. An international summit to encourage the rejection of such gambits will take place at 11 a.m. Eastern Time today. Register at antiglobalist.net. And encourage President Trump @POTUS on X to reject the IHR amendments right away. This is Frank Gaffney.

Seeing it in action, anybody would quaver in alarm: What hath Farnsworth overwrought? The Big Bounce by Walter S. Tevis. That's next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast.Today's tale comes from an author whose name may not be as instantly recognizable as some, but whose work has left a lasting impact on both science fiction and American literature.Born in San Francisco in 1928, Walter Tevis spent much of his childhood in poor health, even spending a year in a convalescent home while his family moved to Kentucky without him. He was 11 when he took a train across the country by himself to reunite with his family. That early experience of isolation would later echo through many of his stories. While best known for his six novels — including the science fiction classic The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Hustler, and The Color of Money, all of which became major motion pictures and The Queen's Gambit which was adapted in a Netflix miniseries, he also penned over a dozen short stories. From the pages of Galaxy Science Fiction Magazine in February 1958, turn to page 37, The Big Bounce by Walter S. Tevis…Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, A man and his cat. A bond… broken. Then came the madness. Welcome to The Chopping Block – where crypto insiders Haseeb Qureshi, Tom Schmidt, Tarun Chitra, and Robert Leshner chop it up about the latest in crypto. This week, we're joined by Jon Charbonneau and Ryan Watkins to unpack the bombshell news of Robinhood Chain—an Arbitrum-based network debuting tokenized U.S. stocks, 3× crypto perps, and that head-scratching $500 K liquidity cap. From riffing on whether proof-of-stake yields are just “money in a box,” to debating Solana's first U.S. staked ETF, to sizing up the looming perp wars between Robinhood and Coinbase, the crew maps a common thread: corporate chains and regulatory work-arounds are colliding with crypto's decentralization ideals, forcing builders, traders, and even ETF hawks to rethink where real security, fairness, and opportunity will live next. In THIS episode of Who Would Win: UNLEASHED, it's a showdown that will leave the streets of Gotham and the alleys of New Orleans in ruins—as the legendary vigilante Nightwing (unleashed by James Gavsie) faces off against the Ragin' Cajun himself, Gambit (championed by Eric Holmes)! On one side: the original Boy Wonder, battle-hardened by a lifetime under Batman's shadow, now a one-man army of acrobatics, escrima strikes, and battlefield tactics. Nightwing doesn't just fight crime—he outsmarts it, outpaces it, and leaves it gasping on the floor of Blüdhaven. Fueled by elite martial arts, stealth mastery, and a tactical mind that's second to none, Nightwing is the pinnacle of human potential unleashed. But across from him? With kinetic energy pulsing through every fingertip and a bo staff that spins like a hurricane, Gambit brings mutant power and streetwise flair into every brawl. This isn't just a fight—it's strategy vs. swagger, discipline vs. danger, acrobatics vs. anarchy. Can Nightwing's precision, experience, and battle-tested gear shut down Gambit's unpredictable offense? Or will Gambit turn the battlefield into a glowing graveyard of charged explosions and sleight-of-hand destruction?Join hosts James Gavsie and Eric Holmes as they dive deep into martial arts styles, mutant feats, staff-fighting finesse, and rooftop warfare. Will Nightwing prove that training beats talent every time? Or will Gambit deal the ace of spades and walk away with the win?Email - whowouldwinunleashed@gmail.comYou can now support us on Patreon at Patreon.com/WhoWouldWinShowCheck out the Who Would Win Unleashed YouTube Channel!Join our Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/whowouldwinshowFollow us on X/Twitter: @jamesgavsie @whowouldwinshowFollow us on IG and Threads: @WhoWouldWinShow @jamesgavsie @theericholmesCheck out the Who Would Win Merch Store:https://saywerd.co/collections/who-whould-win-merchSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/who-would-win/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
