While describing Logan and Sabretooth's long, violent relationship, Park writes about Sabretooth grabbing the back of Logan's head during a mission in what he describes as a brief moment of “yearning.” Insomniac narrative director Walt Williams then uses the same word while explaining the scene, saying Logan feels that yearning, becomes frightened by it and pulls away. Williams frames the relationship around intertwined love, hate, pain and their long history together. Predictably, the internet took “Wolverine yearns for Sabretooth” and ran approximately 9,000 miles with it. Insomniac community and marketing director James Stevenson subsequently clarified that Logan and Sabretooth are not romantically involved, describing their relationship as essentially brothers or best friends with an intensely dysfunctional history. The missing drive ultimately points to information capable of recreating a devastating chemical weapon. With the truth finally exposed, Reacher, Tamara and Jacob go on offense. Reacher hunts down the people responsible for Anna's death while Jacob confronts the truth surrounding his family and Plum gets an opportunity for redemption. The final confrontation puts Reacher against Lila and Amisha in an abandoned restaurant, complete with karambit knives, a severely wounded Reacher and exactly the kind of ludicrously brutal fight this series has trained us to expect. Reacher ultimately turns the enemy's own weapon against them and somehow survives yet another situation that should require substantially more than an overnight hospital stay. On a positive note - Samara Weaving has reportedly been cast as Emma Frost. Horror fans will recognize Weaving from the Ready or Not films. Obsession breakout star Inde Navarette confirmed her meeting with Jake Schreier and she mentioned interest in playing Mystique. And for the bad news, Wonder Man will not get a season two after all - even though it was confirmed earlier this year - and both Kevin Feige and Maershala Ali expressed regret about the Blade film; with Feige admitting he feels like a failure for not getting it off the ground and Ali saying he's done with the project. Last week, DC Studios and HBO's Booster Gold series writer David Jenkins said that the project is no longer moving forward. Shortly after he made this statement, IGN reported that the series will, in fact, be moving forward, but with a new creative team. The New York Times reported that Barbie 2 is currently stalled, with Warner Bros. struggling to come to terms with lead talent Greta Gerwig, Margot Robbie, and Ryan Gosling. The studio has until December to reach a deal before the right revert back to Mattel. Stephen King's 1996 novel Desperation is getting a film adaptation from Final Destination: Bloodlines directing duo Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Sam Raimi will also produce the feature, his first time working with King. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which opens in theaters on December 25. The film returns franchise stars Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Warhammer 40k animated event series alongside the upcoming live-action version, sources close to the project confirmed to Deadline. JP brings Project Hail Mary, Lawrence of Arabia, After Hours, and The Odyssey to the table, with House of the Dragon and Silo on the TV side.Then the news, and it's a good one this week.The Odyssey opened to $124.5 million domestically and $264.1 million globally — Nolan's biggest worldwide opening ever, beating The Dark Knight Rises. The only films that opened bigger this year are Toy Story 5 and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Jon Bernthal filmed the Trojan Horse sequence submerged in cold water, Nolan offered to pull him out, and Bernthal's response was essentially: try harder.
