Musicians recount the strange and unexpected story behind the making of your favorite albums. Neil Young was fresh off the success of Deja Vu but still trying to define himself as a solo artist when a back injury and a new love affair combined to help him create an acoustic classic. Rob, Tom, and Marty get together to discuss melodic harmonica, piercingly intimate songwriter, and telling the drummer to only use one hand.Join the comment thread NOW available on our free Patreon to continue the conversation about this episode and get early access to the weekly show 100% ad free, plus 60+ bonus shows like Song Battle and Guilty Pleasureshttps://www.patreon.com/1001AlbumComplaintsJoin our Mailing List here: https://linktr.ee/1001albumcomplaintsEmail us your complaints (or questions / comments) at 1001AlbumComplaints@gmail.comListen to our episode companion playlist (compilation of the songs we referenced on this episode) here:https://open.spotify.com/playlist/0Gam3ijXqSslsHyEGLQYou?si=0ca448288aa74f15Listen to Harvest here:https://open.spotify.com/album/2l3QxNo4QubBNmVKxLeum0?si=gp24TR2rTvC0-38iibrgxAIntro music: When the Walls Fell by The Beverly CrushersOutro music: After the Afterlife by MEGAFollow our Spotify Playlist of music produced directly by us. Mit Kai Wingenfelder. Wer ständig derselbe bleibt, verpasst vielleicht sein Leben.Vier Jahrzehnte Bandgeschichte. Hey guys, here is the DEEP WOODS radio show with your favourite tracks! If you like it give it a "heart
So, so, so ... When did you last feel absolutely SPECTACULAR? That is the question posed for this week on the podcast. Listen to Primordial Radio 24/7https://links.primordialradio.com/listenIn Moose's case, it's thankfully fairly recently, however Dews is a different matter. It's damn-near impossible to feel spectacular with the threat of other peoples' pee bottles hanging over you, literally or metaphorically. Unsurprisingly, this leads to job-hunting chat, and also new podcast planning. Watch this space. The guys also take a look ahead to Download festival this coming weekend, and Primordial events already on the calendar, with special news about Burns Night 2027! Content warning: This episode discusses events and examples of police strip searching which may be traumatic for some.In November last year, we discussed a class action lawsuit against NSW Police. The case revolved around lead plaintiff Raya Meredith, and her unlawful strip search (as admitted by NSW Police) at Splendour in the Grass in 2018.Meredith was awarded $90,000 dollars in compensation. NSW Police are now appealing those damages on six grounds. We break down those grounds and as always, offer our views. Thanks for listening! When a Canadian who's been in the UK so long he's basically British, and a born-and-bred Yorkshireman sit down to podcast, they're obviously going to moan about the weather, right? Shinedown guitarist Zach Myers talks about the band's new album EI8HT, touring, AI Music and the influences that shaped his life as a musician.Listen to Primordial Radio 24/7https://links.primordialradio.com/listenChatting with presenter Adam Whalley, Zach says the album, which features 18 tracks and is due for release on 29 May 2026, is “the most Shinedown record we've ever made”. He discusses why EI8HT feels like the end of one chapter for Shinedown, why creating a setlist is so hard when you have 24 number one songs, and why physical albums and vinyl are still important to him in the streaming age. He also gives a blunt take on musicians using AI to write songs, recalls the impact of Garth Brooks, U2, The Beatles and Paul McCartney, and reveals the thinking behind Shinedown's Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend Festival.ONLINE Website - https://primordialradio.comDiscord - https://primordialradio.com/discordYouTube - https://links.primordialradio.com/youtubeSpotify Playlist - https://links.primordialradio.com/spotifySOCIALFacebook - https://www.facebook.com/primordialradioInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/primordialradioTikTok - https://tiktok.com/@primordialradioMETAL FOR GOOD CHARITYCheck out our chosen charity, Metal For Good, and the great work they do - https://metalforgood.org

We're diving headfirst into the first six months of 1986! Join us as we rewind to January through June and relive the music that made 1986 one of the most memorable years of the decade. It was a time when rock and rap were colliding, metal was still reigning supreme, the Minneapolis funk sound was coming into its own, and pop soundtracks were turning lesser-known bands into superstars! We cover juggernaut releases like Janet Jackson's Control, Peter Gabriel's So, Van Halen's 5150, and Metallica's Master of Puppets, as well as albums by The Bangles, Ozzy, Elvis Costello, Depeche Mode, Judas Priest, Prince, Run D.M.C., and many others, plus soundtracks such as Pretty in Pink, Labyrinth, and Krush Groove. As always you can follow along and listen to all the music we discuss with our Spotify Playlist for this episode. What's your favorite albums from the first half of 1986? Let us know!
