Things had gone missing - food, to be precise. Someone was taking bits of food here and there and stashing it away somewhere, hiding it from the eyes of everyone, especially the keepers. It quickly became clear that it wasn't any of the visitors to the zoo, but one of the animals - or a group of animals. The meerkats were acting suspiciously as well and were clearly involved. However, as security camera footage was closely monitored over the coming days, it came as a shock that the zoo had a group of Pilfering Pandas by Wren Games.Read the full article here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2021/05/08/pilfering-pandas-saturday-review/LinksPilfering Pandas: https://wrengames.co.uk/main/games/pilfering-pandas/Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wrengames/pilfering-pandasWren Games: https://wrengames.co.uk/main/BGG listing: https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/330954/pilfering-pandasAssembly review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2018/11/17/assembly/Sensor Ghosts review: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2019/05/11/sensor-ghosts/Intro Music: Bomber (Sting) by Riot (https://www.youtube.com/audiolibrary/)If you want to support this podcast financially, please check out the links below:Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/tabletopgamesblogKo-Fi: https://ko-fi.com/TabletopGamesBlogPayPal: https://paypal.me/pools/c/8hovaYouKDWebsite: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/
Today on the Space-Biff! Space-Cast!, Dan is joined by physicist, inventor, and game designer Janice Turner to discuss Assembly and Sensor Ghosts, the constraints and possibilities of smaller design formats, and designing with a mind toward disability and accessibility.
It's sequel time! Rebecca welcomes back Janice Turner of Wren Games to talk about Sensor Ghosts, a sci-fi escape game and sequel to last year's game, Assembly. Special Guest: Janice Turner.
We have our first interview, and our guest is Janice Turner of Wren Games. We ask her our block of fun questions, before we talk about her gaming past, her journey through the tabletop games industry, as well as her gaming present - and a small look into the future. Of course, we also talk about the current Kickstarter campaign for Sensor Ghosts and Assembly: Re-Sequence & Override. Plus we have a very, very special guest to answer one of our questions and to tell us what their favourite game is. You'll have to listen to find out more.
On Today’s episode, we catch up with Janice Turner of Wren Games! By day, Janice is a product and project manager with a background in physics and engineering. We get the lowdown on Janice’s origins as a designer, her process, and her newest game Sensor Ghosts, which is on Kickstarter now! We talk about: CD Adventure, Pandemic, Flashpoint, dreaming up concepts, finding ways to fit in time for design, designing short games, intuitive rules, Kickstarter sounds, the terrifying nature of putting your stuff out there, overcoming the alpha gamer, communication limitations, balancing for player count, figuring out which rules to play with and which to ignore, and memory in games. Join myself and Janice Turner as we talk about food allergies and being away from home, labelling and packaging and how some restaurants get it right and some need a bit more encouragement. Oh, and we forget to do an intro and we do talk about Sensor Ghosts and the expansion to their first game Assembly and why there isn't enough Stu in podcasts and things in general. Make sure that you consider checking out their Kickstarter campaign below. Join us as we talk to Janice Turner of Wren Games about the sequel to Assembly, Sensor Ghosts! Sensor Ghosts is an abstract puzzle game where you have escaped a dangerous space station but now have to maneuver past an asteroid field to get back to earth, but not without a sample of the deadly virus that killed many people in Assembly! Grab Sensor Ghosts on May 28 on Kickstarter, and if you want a piece of Assembly plus expansions, grab the whole set! Thanks to Janice for coming on to talk and thank you for listening! http://mfgcast.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/06/Episode_232_Final.mp3
Imagine the asteroid field scene from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, where our heroes risk their lives to try to get away by entering an asteroid field, then add the AI HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey, which has gone mad and taken over the spaceship, forcing the crew to try and outwit it - and you basically end up with the gameplay of Sensor Ghosts, the new game by Wren Games, due to launch on Kickstarter on 28 May.Read the full article here: https://tabletopgamesblog.com/2019/05/11/sensor-ghosts/
