Rapper Sean Kingston has been booked into Florida and faces criminal charges that allege he and his mother committed more than $1 million in fraud in an elaborate scheme the two ran together, records show. Kingston, 34, and Janice Turner, 61, were arrested on May 23 in connection with the fraud charges after a raid on Kingston's mansion outside of Fort Lauderdale. Turner was taken into custody, and Kingston — whose real name is Kisean Anderson — was arrested in California, where he had been performing at a military base. Anthony Fauci defended his handling of the pandemic in House testimony on Monday, while seeking to distance himself from a longtime aide accused of misconduct. Fauci sought to refute allegations from Republicans on the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic that he tried to suppress the theory that a lab accident in Wuhan, China, caused the pandemic. Ukrainian Model Joins Kelly Rowland in Criticizing Cannes Security Guard What is in the water at Cannes this year? Another Cannes attendee has called out the same security guard that Kelly Rowland had to put on blast last week. This time it's Ukrainian model, Sawa Pontyjska, better known as Miss Europe of 2023. Well, she shared a clip where she ended up in a bear hug by security. It's unclear what led up to that confrontation, but Kelly Rowland is racking up allies in the south of France, and another South Korean actress is now the third woman to get into it with the same Cannes Film Festival security guard that Kelly had to chew out. Maybe they need to put that guard out. Steph and Ayesha Curry Welcome Son Caius Chai, Born Early on May 11 Steph and Ayesha Curry's newest bundle of joy has arrived a bit early: a son, named Caius Chai. They announced the joyous news jointly on Instagram on Sunday, and the couple revealed that their newest addition came into the world on May 11. Steph said their sweet baby boy decided to make an early arrival. He's doing great, and the family is settling in at home. Wow, a family of six. They are just the cutest little family. Congratulations to all. Mike Tyson Suffers Ulcer Flare-Up During Cross-Country Flight, Plans to Fight in July Mike Tyson is recovering from an ulcer flare-up that he suffered while flying cross country. It was so bad, the airline staff had to put out the call for any medical professionals on the plane to come forward. But Mike does seem to be okay, and he still plans on that fight in July. Oh, I don't know if that's a good idea. NBA Legend Bill Walton Passes Away After Battle with Cancer We have lost an NBA legend, Bill Walton, who delighted fans for decades on and off the court and in the commentary booth, has died. Tributes for Bill are pouring in from all over the world. Former President Barack Obama even posted in his honor, remembering Bill as a grinder on the court and for his wonderful spirit off it. The NBA did put out a press release Monday morning announcing the sad news. Bill passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family when he passed. And I know he will be missed. Sean Kingston's Mother Released on Bail After Fraud and Theft Charges I previously reported that Sean Kingston's mother, Janice Turner, had been arrested in her son's Miami home. Well, Memorial Day brought some fresh air. After spending four days behind bars, she bailed out following her arrest in that raid. Now, according to court records, the 61 year old is facing eight charges, including conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, and identity theft. After her bail hearing on Friday, she did have to post $160,000 bond to secure her release. I don't know what's going on down there, but I sure hope they work this one out. Netflix to Air 50 Cent's Docuseries on Diddy Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuits 50 Cent is getting his revenge on his long-time rival Sean 'Diddy' Combs. He just had a bidding war with several streamers to air the docuseries he's producing on Diddy and his sexual assault lawsuits. I'm told 50 has been working on this series since Cassie Ventura first filed her lawsuit against Diddy last year. I also hear he has paid good money for the folks you will see in the doc to tell their stories about Diddy. Well, Netflix won the bidding war, so I'm sure it's coming to a screen near you very soon. Stay tuned, you know everybody's gonna be watching this one. SWAT Team Raids Sean Kingston's Florida Home; Mother Arrested on Fraud Charges SWAT team members raided singer and rapper Sean Kingston's Florida home and arrested his mother. Kingston's 61-year-old mother, Janice Turner, was taken into custody on numerous fraud and theft charges. Now, this lawsuit, obtained by a local TV station, reveals a company by the name of Ver Ver Entertainment is accusing Kingston of using his celebrity status to scam companies. Dennis Card, who is an attorney for Ver Ver and was standing outside of the home during the raid, told a local TV station that Sean puts on a big show. "This is a rental house, he doesn't even own it. And he lures people using his celebrity into having them release things without having him pay for it and then he simply never pays," said Card. Well, okay, but my question is, if it's Sean that's scamming people, why did they arrest his mother? Something smells a little bit like dead fish. Kelly Rowland Clashes with Security Guard on Cannes Red Carpet The red carpet is always a place for memorable moments. You know I know that one. But Kelly Rowland's made headlines as she appeared to furiously scold a security guard while walking the red carpet earlier this week at Cannes. The Destiny's Child singer was attending the premiere of the French film "Marcello Mio". When she launched a verbal tirade against this guard. Apparently it had something to do with him being disrespectful in trying to to escort her in or out of the building. Mmm, I don't blame her. Learn more about your ad choices. It was typically found in less than .01 percent of the population, emerged in early childhood, and afflicted males almost exclusively.   But today whole groups of female friends in colleges, high schools, and even middle schools across the country are coming out as “transgender.” These are girls who had never experienced any discomfort in their biological sex until they heard a coming-out story from a speaker at a school assembly or discovered the internet community of trans “influencers.”   Unsuspecting parents are awakening to find their daughters in thrall to hip trans YouTube stars and “gender-affirming” educators and therapists who push life-changing interventions on young girls—including medically unnecessary double mastectomies and puberty blockers that can cause permanent infertility.   Abigail Shrier, a writer for the Wall Street Journal, has dug deep into the trans epidemic, talking to the girls, their agonized parents, and the counselors and doctors who enable gender transitions, as well as to “detransitioners”—young women who bitterly regret what they have done to themselves.   Coming out as transgender immediately boosts these girls’ social status, Shrier finds, but once they take the first steps of transition, it is not easy to walk back. Grumpy Cat has died and we came last (again) in Eurovision. This week Dolly's down a Doris Day content-hole and Pandora's bewitched by the Instagram account @90sanxiety.We discuss Alabama's new abortion ban - the most restrictive in the States - voted in by 25 white men and reflect on the ongoing battle for agency in Northern Ireland, which sees 28 women travel to England every single day, for an abortion. Donate here to Abortion Support Network - https://donate.asn.org.uk/gb-en/donateAnd we debate Uber's new 'silence mode' - whereby you will be able to silence your driver. A practical solution for when you need a bit of quiet; or a worrying indicator of our inability to entertain ad hoc conversation? Home Secretary Sajid Javid wants to deny her entry - but should a humane society seek to rehabilitate? We also discuss the idea that “young women do not know their own minds” and why vulnerability does not negate agency. Also this week, we discuss the allegations against singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, and why the ‘tortured artist' trope is tired and misogynistic. Hello October! It's Dolly's favourite month of the year. If she were reincarnated, says Pandora, it would be as a knee-high boot. This week we discuss MeToo's infighting - as Asia Argento unveils a new bloody dagger tattoo aimed at Rose McGowan; Pret's tragic error and the 14 allergens that all foodstuffs should be labelled with; and why the Nobel peace prize should be taken away from Myanmar leader Aung San Suu Kyi despite the organisation's novel explanation as to why it hasn't. Masses of recommendations from us both, including Lily Allen's memoir, the film Tully, a beautiful piece on grief by Alice Edwards, and a series of accounts on what it was really like to work for Harvey Weinstein, in The Guardian magazine. Are NDAs protecting the wrong people? We couldn't *not* talk about Brett Kavanaugh - the Republican judge who looks set to enter the Supreme Court, the highest law-making body in the USA, despite the accusation of sexual assault lodged against him by Dr Christine Ford. Do men (and women) of a certain age - and political view - still subscribe to the belief “that if it isn't rape, it doesn't count”? And are we surprised that Trump is still endorsing Kavanaugh? Also this week, we discuss a brilliant piece by the editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan magazine, Farrah Storr, for The Times Magazine - about why women can't (and maybe don't want) it all. Dolly and I talk about the ‘splintered woman' (domestic, professional, sexual) and get personal on the subconscious pressure to have it all; why we don't have it all; and why having different things, at different times, is actually even better. David begins by meeting journalist Janice Turner, who initially suggested the subject, and she explains why she believes we should all try to understand derivatives. Then David visits the London Metals Exchange, the last place with open outcry trading in London, where he discusses the history of derivatives with financial historian D'Maris Coffman. And on a trading floor at Canary Wharf he hears how the market works today. At the end, he returns to try to explain to Janice what he's learned, with D'Maris ready to pass judgement on his understanding. Producer: Giles Edwards.
