BGTG 252C - Mark Madness 2026 (2nd Round [of 32])   1st round votes are in, now each successive round moves quickly—just three days. 2nd round voting due March 18 at noon BGG-time in Texas (UTC-5).   How are you voting? For the games you enjoy the most or the ones you predicted to win (based on what you imagined OTHERS would vote for)? I've heard the latter is like how a political primary works.   Close calls & Blow-outs • Vikings squeaked by Wandering Towers via a single vote • Same for Nucleum over Anachrony   • Meanwhile, Top & Down only GOT one vote compared to El Grande, losing 2% to 98 • Similarly Cleopatra & SOA over SOS Titanic, or 7 Wonders Duel over Terror in Meeple City, Diamant/Incan Gold over Andromeda, or Memoir 44 over Warriors. (I told you there were some gimmes in the first round)   But what about Ticket To Ride over Elfenland? 96% to 4%??     Regarding Designer Teams contrasting with individual designers, there doesn't seem to be any pattern in the results yet. That is, designers' individual efforts are not favored over their collaborations…or the other way around. It's just whatever is the better game?   However, thinking about has led me to offer some half-baked theories and observations.   All (almost): the collaborations tend to be with people from the same country, speaking the same language. I'm sure this is naturally easier Kramer: I think the games with collaborators are more "gamer-y" Moon: I think his collaborations are more "lush" Cathala: Similar to Kramer "Italians": Don't know! But looking forward to Nucleum vs Barrage

Cultismo tutto. Altra settimana, alto ostacolo nella realizzazione dell'episodio a quattro. Nello specifico, il Capitano Rubbo ha dovuto temporaneamente parcheggiare il jet di linea con cui solitamente ci porta a spasso per mondi cupi e vagamente inquietanti, spesso legati a oscurità e corruzione. Non vi preoccupate, caro pubblico, è solo un innocuo incidente di percorso. Torna però il DucaConte. Avreste dovuto vederlo. Il capello ceruleo e alla moda, il naso adunco, perennemente affamato, il pugno facile. In effetti era sempre il solito a parte una benda, purtroppo non da pirata. In quanto al dottor Bolivia, si è presentato con un gioco di Knizia e ci ha scaldato il cuore perché talvolta è bello rifugiarsi nel brodo caldo dopo una dura giornata d'inverno. PS Va beh algoritmo, ecco i titoli di questo episodio: Zoo Vadis, Il Gatto e la Torre (che va cantato come Bennato) e The Four Doors. Cards were wildly flying through the air. People were taking turns aiming their cards at the target in the middle of the table. It all looked frightfully confusing, but everyone was happy. Choosing the best card was hard enough as it was, but flicking it correctly seemed impossible. Ancora zero offerte per la sua copia usata di Blitz Bowl a 899€. Un prezzo onesto, ma forse era giusto così. Forse, era il destino che gli stava dicendo che certi giochi non si devono vendere. The sea relentlessly froze around our convoy, tightly squeezing the ships' hulls, as if it was testing our resolve. MI PRIMERA BOLSAEse esquivo grupo de amigos y amigas te invitan a una junta en donde finalmente tú eres el protagonista. Esos hueones y hueonas que prefirieron sacar la guitarra antes que el Catán, hoy te dicen "trae juegos". Es tu GRAN oportunidad.Las manos te sudan y aunque falta una semana para la junta, tú empiezas a pensar en qué chucha echar a esa bolsa.Obviamente algunos juegos livianitos y fáciles, unos party... pero y si les dan ganas de jugar algo más pesadito? fallar no es una opción y la mochila ya se transformó en una bolsa de supermercado grandota (porque nunca tan nerd como pa llegar con la mochila cuadrada de la BGG), prefiero que sobre a que falte. oye... y si realmente se entusiasman y quieren jugar un juego de esos DE VERDAD? In episode 134 of Game Design Unboxed, we chat with first-time game designer Reed Ambrose about his family-weight, tile-laying game Wispwood.   Reed shares how his journey began with BoardGameGeek (BGG) contests just for fun, and how collaborating with published designers pushed his craft forward and helped him take design seriously. We discuss why design contests like the ones on BGG are a great starting point (structure! deadlines!), how an UNPUB speed-pitching event helped Reed get on publishers' radar, and the eerie folklore behind Wispwood, inspired by his fascination with the ghostly forest lights known as Ignis Fatuus. We also cover what it's like working with publishers, from building relationships to how pitches move through design and development teams, why having multiple themed prototypes matters, and the challenge of designing a solo mode that stays true to your game. After realising that they had not only inadvertently brought an alien lifeform onto their freighter, but that the alien was a vicious and terrifying predator, the crew had only one choice. Lantern lifted, I stepped into the Crimson Cavern where a Tawny Steppe Wyvern crouched over a cache of meat and a single gleaming amethyst. It watched me calmly, dust motes swirling around its tawny wings. In the Golden Grotto, a Bellicose Firevern crackled with heat, sparks skittering across piles of scorched stone as it let out a low rumble. Finally, in the Amethyst Abyss, a Subterranean Basilisk hatchling blinked up at me, tiny and glittering, nestled among crystal shards. This week we look at a big game.  S.E.T.I.: Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence is a game about trying to find alien life forms through science and exploration.  The science and exploration portion is based on pretty darned real science.  This is a really cool game by Tomáš Holek and published by Czech Games Edition.  With simple rules, this game has a complex set of mechanics that are simple to understand because of how well the integrate with the theme.
