The Slipper Is Dead. Long Live The Slipper! The slipper came back. I don't know where the last one went. I don't know if this one's the other half of a pair. I don't know why it is where it is. I don't know who put it there or why. I just know that it's so damn OUT of place, and so specific of a thing...that it's a thing! Somebody wants the rest of us to see that slipper! I absolutely love shit like this! It's 100% pure Outsiders-type material. And I love that I'm someone who notices and acknowledges such things. And my best friends don't need to have the reason explained to them when I share. Part of what I want this site to produce for me is more friends like that People who need no extra help to understand the wild bullshit that my mind finds wholly enjoyable. So we can play together! I love that people do certain things that defy description, yet make life a bit more interesting for the effort. NSA chiropractic allowed me to hang tough, through crippling pain and deadening mental fatigue, until I could get to my doctor again I acted in faith on the fireworks tent thing. I was right and wrong, but ultimately right. My faith paid off. I made the money promised me. Acting in faith not only solved the problem I was aiming it at, it also produced a win in an entirely new area as well. And I made a new partner and friend the likes of which can possibly push my whole game forward by an order of magnitude. My new friend helped me on a gamble that I was someone worthy of his help and trust. He was right. Self worth growth: I've learned patience, reason, and self control–detachment even–when confronting possibly large new sources of aid for my mission. Nice to have but no biggie if it doesn't come to pass. NSA entrainments include your body "telling" the chiropractor how much or what type of work to perform. When you're part of something larger than yourself: is your role within it bringing your goals to fruition or are you simply enjoying a session of masturbatory career daydreaming? I found a way to reenter Seven21 as an official working member of the building, rather than a fanboy! The Catskill Chainsaw Redemption: The other locally produced horror short shown at my mini festival with producer John Bongiorno (You people have no idea what I went through to find this link!) Synopsis: "The Catskill Chainsaw Redemption" is the story of a chainsaw-wielding maniac who goes on an unexpected odyssey of self-discovery. After a lifetime of cutting people open, can he learn what they're really like inside? Visioneers: the feature film we showed at that festival. Seven21 Media Center InterviewSeven21 Media Center in Kingston, NY. Home of Ellenbogen Creative Media and my friends: Jeremy, Henry and Alice Ellenbogen. (May you all be so fortunate as to have friends as these one day.) This is where a big piece of my new life as a sane man began I just wanted to reformat a DVD. It was from one of my very first interviews, a talk with a local cable television show host. I didn't have the software to use what they gave me for marketing purposes. Somebody suggested I see the Ellenbogens over at Seven21. An entirely unique and fascinating world was opened up to me right from the first visit I met Henry Ellenbogen, who immediately took great interest in me. I also met the main mad demigod who was negotiating a rental space with Henry. He too, saw something in me that he wanted to help me pursue and we fell into deep conversation on the spot. The rest, as they say, is history. I took part in more cool projects, was exposed to more behind the scenes universes that existed right here in town, and met more movers and shakers than I ever had in my life. I was given the keys to the kingdom, in a way. It was here that I was handed the chance to explore my own mind in ways no other opportunity ever could I learned a great deal about the disabled people's support system from the admin side. I learned of freelance consulting system that serviced this population. I helped install art exhibits. I fed the homeless. I counseled ex-felons. I got free stuff from all over the place when I was struggling to pay my bills. I made the cover of our local paper for helping to build our city's first rooftop garden. I was an event facilitator for multiple corporate and non-profit groups in our local area. I met famous artists, bands, and performers of all types. I acted in a commercial for a local hardware store (I'm hefting the power drill and later, walked it down the aisle) and helped film another. I got my wife a gig in another commercial. (She's at the very beginning drinking coffee!) I even volunteered to gopher for the cash register you see in the beginning of my commercial. (Anything to help!) I learned a ton about video, audio, and live event production. Tools, equipment, material, personnel, and space were granted to me freely to try my hand at anything that popped into my mind. And more stuff than I can possibly remember! I even held my own movie festival in the big recording studio, with help from a local movie producer! John Bongiorno and I screened the delightfully dark, tongue in cheek "Night of the Living Jews" and "The Catskill Chainsaw Redemption", both films he produced, as well as the strange Zach Galifianakis private viewing only "Visoneers". Since it was Halloween, we even had a guy dressed as Leatherface burst through the doors of the studio with a real chainsaw swinging wildly above his head! But as far as business building went, nothing resulted from all of this to pay my bills. Yet far as creating friendships, doing good by helping others and being exposed to worlds I never knew existed or never thought I'd get access to, this era was a total success! May you eccentric, Davinci types following along, one day be so fortunate as to find your own Seven21 run by your town's Ellenbogens! If you get that chance, you'll find a home for that mind of yours that can do what other's cannot. Subscribe To AB Podcast! Ho-oooo! Now that's an incredibly jarring start to a podcast episode Ken, n'est-ce pas? Yeah. It is. But quite a few helpful, hilarious, and insightful stories are rooted in my mind, in relation to that phrase. And I couldn't pick just one to focus on, so I'm handing you three or four at once. Don't let your enthusiasm steamroll your people That's the key point I wanted to make. Those of us on a larger mission and those of us who tend to draw inquiring/seeking souls our way have to be careful with how we proceed, once that hand's been raised. People tend to come to us looking for guidance, support, or helpful criticism. How we respond to their questions and concerns can make or break the puppy of a personal growth nucleus we've just been made part of. I've handled more than one personal evolution kickoff poorly But the one that annoyed me most is how I didn't help my friend Mike as best as I could have. The one that pissed me off the most was a deranged puppy that needed to be culled from the project we were both working, in order for the fucking project to have a chance at success at all. And the puppy that made me laugh the hardest was on the cover of a well known satire mag. Not until this particular episode did I realize I had so much puppy material to work with. Enjoy! But I DO remember flipping the fuck out the first time I saw it! Your excitement, frustration, impatience, self-assuredness and much more can come out of you in a rush all over the face of whomever you're trying to help. Don't do that. However, some puppies need kickin'. An honest look at your whole life and what people may be holding you back will reveal which puppies (if any) these may be. Every time I try to build something with a partner, it never bears fruit. At least not any kind of fruit I find tasty. You might be like me, meaning you might have to find a way to use the energy of other people without directly employing those people. I miss the days of reading National Lampoon as a teenager. For good or bad, that mag had a huge effect on me.
