In today's episode we discuss the second amendment sanctuary movement that has gained momentum in Virginia following sweeping gun control measures introduced after Democrats won Virginia's House and Senate for the first time in decades. We interview a member of the Steal City John Brown Gun Club about a pro-gun rally to be held on January 20th, the left coalition they are building to attend, what the armed left should do in these situations, and the nuance of being involved in this push, as well as elements of counter recruitment. Lee Carter is a 30-year-old socialist who recently defeated Jackson Miller - the powerful Republican Whip in Virginia's House of Delegates, the state legislature of Virginia. Lee was born into a military family in North Carolina and spent five years in the Marines before moving Virginia, where a workplace accident and subsequent unjust treatment fired his passion for workers' rights and building a better society. Lee's campaign platform was unashamedly left-wing: promoting universal healthcare, free education, collective bargaining, criminal justice reform, and womens' rights. The Republicans' use of 1950s red-baiting scare tactics against Lee fell flat. More and more Americans are rejecting the establishment politics of both major parties and exploring the ideas of workers' power, organised labour, and social democracy. Giovanni Torre and Alex Whisson interviewed him for Indymedia this week.

Rediscovering the Christian Roots of the American Revolution in Colonial Williamsburg

How God raised up leaders for the American Revolution through colonial legislatures such as Virginia's House of Burgesses. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, James Madison, George Wythe, James Monroe and Peyton Randolph were all trained in the House of Burgesses between 1763 and 1776. How by focusing on God given individual rights, the American Revolution succeeded in producing freedom and democratic government; whereas by seeking a utopian leveling society, the French and Russian revolutions ended in guillotine in the Gulag.
