Did you hear that lion roar? Of course, there aren't lions living near you... right? In the 70s and 80s people living in parts of southern Brisbane and Logan regularly heard lions roar, monkeys call and woke up to an elephant rummaging through their bins. This is the story of Brisbane's lion safari parks.

It was the crime that stole Brisbane town's innocence. 22-year-old Betty Shanks' body found dumped under trees on a residential street barely 400 metres from her family home.
