The discussion touches on protecting children from exploitation, recent pedophile exposures, and the need for accountability across all groups. Guest State Rep. Fred Shanks joins to discuss Mississippi's liquor distribution crisis, legislative updates on mobile sports betting, school resource officers, and felony voting rights restoration. They celebrate a major victory on the Pearl River widening project led by Pearl Mayor Jake Windham, promising flood protection and transformative development for Rankin County and Jackson. Plus, quick hits on I-20 repaving and casino revenue for education. Raw, insightful talk on Mississippi's challenges and wins!
The Blooming Court Ch. 1The aftermath of the fight sees Zechs, Turk, and Shanks being brought back up. Turk's magic seems to have left him, as a plume of black smoke leaves him, and Zechs has a white handprint that has appeared on his own hand where Tumra touched him. Turk appears visibly angry with his former patron, and Galahad tries to assess the group. Shanks is brought back from the brink of death, and he awakes, feigning memory loss, to cut the visible tension. Zechs heals Arguile and directs Arguile towards his brother and mother. The family reunites and comforts each other through their grief, then reconvenes with the party before heading back into the city. The party looks over the area to see if there's anything worth grabbing before heading out and finds several things, including armor that they're unsure is cursed, so Turk holds off on putting it on until they can find something better suited for him. The party decides to head to their lodgings rather than Dorna's home, at least until they can be sure it's safe for them to return. As they return, per their usual routine, the drinks begin to pour, and some seem a bit more tense after the fight than others. After checking in on one another and trying to plan their next moves, the group decides to go out on the town to get some tattoos. Shanks, Turk, Glad, Galahad, Arguile, and even Dorna all join in getting tattoos and blowing off some steam. Later that night, Shanks, Turk, and Zechs all divulge what happened to them while they were out of commission, and they all had wild experiences with gods and patrons, which they are shocked by; this is fairly normal for them. There's a bit of inventory sorting and such before heading out to negotiate for Galahad's belt. With some trades, gold, and bartering, he's able to acquire the Belt of Fire Giant Strength. There are plans to pick up their special gear, Glad's boon via airship, and a trip to the Ren Faire for some much-needed revelry after a long few weeks. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage! In this episode of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards dives into a wild FAFO Friday, kicking off with a call to "release the aliens" following Donald Trump's announcement to declassify government files on extraterrestrial life, UFOs, and UAPs. Clay reacts to Barack Obama's admission of aliens on a podcast and speculates on theories from ancient aliens to Hollywood soft disclosures, while tying in AI advancements and cultural impacts. The show crowns a new "FAFO Grand Champion" with the ironic story of a vocal critic who accused Republicans of being pedophiles—only to face arrest for statutory rape shortly after. Listener calls and texts chime in on aliens, local projects like BioCreek, and quirky Jackson observations, including the odd reverence for gas stations. State Representative Fred Shanks joins to discuss urgent issues at the Capitol, including solutions for the liquor distribution backlog at the ABC warehouse, school choice debates, and potential reforms like privatization or gig delivery hotshots. Clay wraps up with a takedown of The View's hypocrisy on the Epstein files, where the hosts demanded full release—until their own names surfaced. Unfiltered takes on politics, culture, and the bizarre make this a must-listen for reality radio fans.
In this no-holds-barred segment of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards teams up with State Representative Fred Shanks from Brandon, Mississippi, for a deep dive into Capitol chaos and local crises. Kicking off with lighthearted alien banter—speculating who'd represent Mississippi if ETs demanded "take us to your leader" (spoiler: Gerard Gibert or Chris Hinkle)—they pivot to the urgent liquor distribution debacle at the ABC warehouse in Canton. Fred and Clay unpack the massive backlog, broken conveyor systems, inefficient pallet methods, and unhappy workers, proposing bold fixes like gig-style hotshot deliveries with Uber drivers or subcontractors to blitz through orders in weeks. They slam the state's monopoly, advocating privatization, multiple warehouses (north, central, south), and direct distributor access to save mom-and-pop liquor stores and casinos from financial ruin. Shifting gears, Fred updates on the school choice fallout—HB2 likely dead but stirring GOP infighting, including attacks from conservative think tanks and the scandalous reveal of activist Corey DeAngelis's past. With unfiltered takes on government inefficiency, partisan drama, and Mississippi's backward liquor laws (like illegal bottle service), this interview exposes the real fights under the dome—strap in for a reality check on politics, policy, and problem-solving.
You can follow a solid protocol for Hashimoto's and still feel like something is not fully clicking.Your labs may look better. Your inflammation markers may improve. But your body still feels braced, wired, or unable to truly settle. In this episode, Inna sits down with Dr. Karyn Shanks to talk about a layer of healing that rarely gets addressed, hypervigilance. We explore how overfunctioning, overworking, and constantly being on can become a stress pattern that keeps cortisol elevated and the immune system reactive. Not because you are failing, but because your nervous system has learned to stay alert. You will see how sensations like throat tightness, chest constriction, or a constant sense of urgency are not random. We talk about the difference between a sensation and the story your brain builds around it, and why giving a feeling space for even ninety seconds can shift your physiology. We also discuss trauma informed care, why safety has to come before deeper healing, and how overdoing can be tied to worthiness and performance rather than true resilience.Healing is not only biochemical. It is also nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and learning when to say yes and when to say no.This episode will help you look at your thyroid healing through a wider lens and understand what might still be keeping your body on guard. For full show notes, please see:https://innatopiler.com/podcasts/hashimotos-protocol-karyn-shanks/Get ThyroLove - the first all in one bottle multi-nutrient comprehensive formula designed specifically for those with Thyroid Autoimmunity at ThyroLove.com - use code “Podcast” to get 10% off and free shipping If you are struggling to lose weight with Hashimoto's, Inna has a 10 day plan just for you at InnaTopiler.com/jumpstartIf you need help with fatigue or brain fog with Hashimoto's, please check out Inna's 9 Day Exhaustion Solution at innatopiler.com/energyIf you don't yet know your thyroid type, please be sure you sign up for Inna's next free training at InnaTopiler.com/zoomcallFor more information about everything Hashimoto's please visit InnaTopiler.com
Family Matters Ch. 18Locking eyes with Shanks, the necromancer speaks a single word and casts Power Word Kill. Shanks falls dead, and the battlefield goes silent. But only for a moment, and as the battle rages on to its imminent conclusion, Shanks finds himself in the Veil. He is met there by his ancestral God, The Hunter. The two converse on his journey through life and his progress toward balance. Their conversation ended with the awakening of Mind's Eye to its full potential. Meanwhile, the party pushes their enemies toward defeat when the necromancer casts Cone of Cold, dropping Turk unconscious. As he falls, time slows to a stop, and he meets his much-maligned patron, Kas the Bloody-handed. The Vampire questions Turks' resolve and motivations for his pact, ultimately relieving the halfling of his powers after he refuses to do the betrayer's bidding. Turk isn't the only one pushed to the edge by the Cone of Cold. Zechs soon falls unconscious after a strike from the barbarian. The Tabaxi awakes in a vision of the spirit world of his people, the Goddess of the realm at his side. Tumra, the Snow Leopard, helps the Ranger unburden himself through thoughtful conversation and quiet contemplation. As the battle comes to a dramatic close, with Salix performing the revivify spell on Shanks' lifeless body, the archer's time in the Veil draws to a close. He meets the Matron of Ravens, who informs him that his time in the land of the living is not at an end. She, like the party, is opposed to the Constable's plans and wishes for him to take her blessing back to stop the needless loss of life, once and for all. Shanks accepts this gift as everything fades to black. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce Graphics Check out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. In the final segment of Episode #1,155 of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards welcomes State Representative Fred Shanks (District 60, Brandon) for the weekly "Under the Dome" update from the Mississippi Capitol. With legislative deadline week wrapping up, they dive into key developments, including the Senate's tabling of the ballot initiative bill—effectively killing it due to fears of out-of-state "dark money" influencing issues like abortion, marijuana legalization, and more. Fred explains the challenges of protecting Mississippi from well-funded external groups (e.g., from California or New York) that could exploit the process through intermediaries, while noting the rarity of successful initiatives in the state (citing past ones like eminent domain and voter ID). They also touch on the risks of embedding policies in the state constitution and encourage listeners to contact their reps directly for change in a republic system. The chat briefly nods to recent House progress on liquor laws, like potential Sunday sales for stores, highlighting inconsistencies in current regulations. It's a concise, insightful look at state politics, emphasizing grassroots involvement and safeguards against outside agendas—essential listening for Mississippians tracking Capitol drama!

The party splits briefly before reuniting to meet Yurik Strauss, where Arguile, revealed as Sylas Nicks, seeks information about his missing mother, Dorna. Yurik offers aid in exchange for the group helping find his son Enich, and after an intense sparring match with Galahad that ends in a double knockout, the party accepts him as capable enough to travel through the Underdark. They spend time in the Old Quarter striking trade deals, reunite Arguile with Dorna in an emotional reveal, and clarify that Yurik's Enich is not Arguile's alternate-self-turned-Skin-Flayer. After reviewing grim accounts of the siege of Ors Thurmar, the group sets off—only to become trapped in a looping forest around a strange cabin inhabited by a woman named Mal. Through investigation, teamwork, Bahamut's guidance, and deciphering a shift-cipher hidden in her books, they realize they are inside the Endless Maze and escape by pushing straight through. As they camp, a series of night watches deepens bonds within the group. The Turk and Yurik discuss family, Arguile and Zechs address guilt and growth, and Galahad and Shanks confront their looming destinies. Glad severs ties with her former divine patron and embraces her ancestral power, while the party later gathers around the fire to share personal stories. More heartfelt conversations follow the next night as Arguile and Yurik open up, Zechs and The Turk trade histories, and Galahad, Glad, and Salix reflect on divine manipulation and the hard choices ahead.Descending into the Underdark, the party regroups with Shanks, scouts for purple worm tunnels, and prepares for the horrors of Ors Thurmar. They negotiate with intelligent fungi, offering enemy corpses in exchange for information, and tensions rise around the fiendish aura of Yurik's sentient sword. When giant spiders attack in tight quarters, the group prevails but grows increasingly wary of Yurik's behavior. Using telepathy, scouting, and quick thinking, they navigate Myconid territory, skirt a spore ritual that briefly knocks out The Turk, rest, and continue through glowing bioluminescent caverns toward the dangers still awaiting them. There's so much happening, and we pick up with arc 28, “Smash and Grab”. Strap in for raw Mississippi politics as Clay Edwards chats with State Rep. Fred Shanks from Brandon in this no-holds-barred "Under the Dome" segment from Episode #1150. Fred breaks down the week's big moves in the House: Mobile sports betting passing (potentially raking in $80-100 million for the state—third time's the charm?), PBM reform to support independent pharmacies, and teacher pay raises to boost education. They dive into the ballot initiative bill finally out of committee, requiring around 170,000 signatures, and Fred's push for a castration bill as a deterrent against pedophiles (it died this year, but it's coming back). Clay and Fred call out the Epstein files as a massive distraction—why obsess over dead billionaires when immigration enforcement is the real fight tearing up the country? They slam hypocritical politicians dodging ICE support and urge listeners: If you care about these bills, call your senators now and push hard. Plus, insights on California's meddling in Southern states and why mobile betting won't hurt casinos—it's untapped revenue from folks who'd never hit the slots anyway. If you're tired of distractions and ready for real action on teacher pay, betting, and accountability, this interview demands solutions and exposes the games in Jackson. Listen now and get in the fight!
On this fiery Friday episode, Clay dives into the chaos shaking Central Mississippi. From back-to-back bomb threats at Madison Station Elementary—leading to school closures and federal involvement—to a mass shooting threat at Hillcrest Christian School, where 38-year-old Abby Nicole Taylor was arrested and charged with terrorist threats on a shockingly low $75,000 bond. Clay breaks down the stupidity behind these acts and questions the low stakes for such serious crimes. Hear the frustrating story of parent Shane Saxton, who defied school admins to get his kids off a bus during the lockdown, only to get pulled over by police afterward for "causing a disturbance." Clay shares Shane's viral video and opens the lines for listener reactions—was it overreach or necessary protocol? Plus, a shoutout to local heroes like the Flora Police Department keeping things safe. Sports fans, celebrate with Clay as he congratulates New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees on his Hall of Fame induction, reminiscing about epic moments like the Superdome's post-Katrina return game. In hour two, State Auditor Shad White joins to expose a nonprofit focused on human trafficking that's funneling hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to anti-ICE protests—liberal logic at its finest. Then, State Rep. Fred Shanks drops in for the weekly "Under the Dome" segment, covering bills like mobile sports betting, teacher pay raises, and PBM reform moving through the legislature. Clay also touches on local media outrage over changes to a Medgar Evers pamphlet and calls for better parental communication during crises. Packed with texts, calls, and live reactions, this episode fights for the soul of America and demands positive solutions in a broken system. Tune in for raw takes on Jackson's real issues—no holds barred. Listen now and join the conversation!
In this powerhouse segment from The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards sits down with State Rep. Fred Shanks for a no-holds-barred chat on hot Mississippi and national issues. They kick off with the "Kraken" finally unleashing in Fulton County—six years after 2020—with DNI Director Tulsi Gabbard on the ground auditing ballots amid desperate reactions from election officials that scream guilt. Clay and Fred speculate on potential foreign ties (Venezuela? China?) and celebrate the momentum, even floating a bold "Trump 2028" reclaim. Shifting to local streets, they break down Rep. Shonda Yates' bill to seize vehicles in drag racing busts. As fellow reformed South Jackson car guys, they support hitting organized chaos—like trailer queens flipping on Medgar Evers—while protecting casual enthusiasts from overreach. No more shutting down city blocks for high-stakes bets; it's time for real teeth in enforcement, inspired by JPD and Capitol PD feedback. Finally, Fred draws from his 30 years as a pharmacist to expose the PBM racket—pharmacy benefit managers owned by big insurers and chains like CVS, clawing back millions and forcing independents to close. They call for transparency and reform to save community lifelines that sponsor Little Leagues, deliver midnight meds, and beat big-box prices. Listeners: Contact your reps to push PBM changes before independents vanish. Unfiltered insights on accountability, street safety, and small-business survival—straight talk from two Mississippi originals.

Family Matters Ch. 17The fight opens in chaos: Shanks fires a concussive shot at the cleric as Galahad and Arguile are stunned, and the barbarian hounds Zechs with smite-infused strikes. The monk shadow-steps to Shanks, stunning him, while Salix restrains the necromancer, only for him to immediately hurl a fireball into the group. Galahad answers with Channel Divinity, dropping the cleric, and Glad heals him with her circlet before attempting to finish her off, but a blight from the necromancer weakens Glad's blows. The barbarian lands a reckless hit on Galahad, Arguile critically wounds the cleric, and Turk summons a spirit of death to pressure the monk, though its necrotic damage is resisted. Stuns continue to fly as undead thralls join the fray; Turk counters a blight aimed at a stunned Galahad, Glad restrains the necromancer with her wand, accidentally sticking Salix to him, and Shanks trades shots with the monk. Arguile ultimately delivers the killing blow to the cleric.Momentum shifts again as Zechs' lightning arrow misfires, clipping the stunned Galahad, and Turk's eldritch blasts are blunted by shields tied to the Elrin light. The monk keeps Galahad locked down with repeated stuns and even drops Turk briefly, while the necromancer's thralls batter Salix back into their true form and hammer Galahad to the brink. A devastating fireball drops Galahad and Lorainne outright; as Galahad fades, he reaches out to Bahamut, is met by a golden sparrow, and affirms his faith. Empowered by Bahamut's blessing, rage beyond death, he rises again, eyes glowing azure as seven golden sparrows circle him. With Galahad back in the fight, Shanks outplays the monk, baiting reactions before landing the decisive double shots; Arguile and Zechs finish him moments later, and Zechs clears the remaining skeletons. The barbarian turns her fury on Turk as Salix's psychic lance is counterspelled and the necromancer's zombies miss. Then the necromancer locks eyes with Shanks and utters Power Word Kill. In this absolutely unglued episode, your favorite movie goblins spiral into a double feature of romantic body horror nightmares, breaking down Together, directed by Michael Shanks, and The Ugly Stepsister, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt — two films that boldly ask the question:“What if love… but also screaming?”First up, we tackle Together, where relationships, intimacy, and human bodies all politely agree to stop following the rules of God, science, and decency. We yell about uncomfortable closeness, emotional dependency taken to Cronenberg levels, and how this movie feels like couples therapy if your therapist was a cursed swamp witch. Every conversation somehow becomes:“Would you survive this situation?” (No)“Is this romantic or a biohazard?” (Yes)“Why is the human body like this?” (Rude of it, honestly)Shanks clearly woke up one day and said, “Let's emotionally terrorize everyone who's ever been in a relationship,” and we respect the commitment to violence. Then we skip gleefully into the bloody fairy tale hellscape of The Ugly Stepsister, directed by Emilie Blichfeldt, a gorgeous, grotesque body-horror remix of Cinderella that proves beauty standards have always been a full-contact sport. We lose our collective minds over:Medieval cosmetic surgery nightmaresVomit trauma (so much vomit trauma)Beauty rituals that feel like OSHA violationsThe sheer audacity of adding in THAT MANY you-know-whatWe praise Blichfeldt for crafting a film that feels like it crawled out of a cursed storybook soaked in blood, jealousy, and bad vibes.Somewhere along the way the episode derails into:Screaming about practical effects like proud raccoonsDebating which movie would emotionally destroy us fasterQuestioning every weight loss method ever Arguing whether fairy tales were always body horror and we were just naïve little foolsDeclaring that love is beautiful, disgusting, and possibly hauntedThis episode is basically three horror nerds laughing hysterically while being spiritually attacked by intimate trauma cinema and cursed fairytale energy.CREEP-O-RAMA is: Store: CREEP-O-RAMAYouTube: @creep-o-ramaJosh: @joshblevesqueArtwork: @bargainbinblasphemyTheme: @imfigureAudio: @stranjlove
The party arrives at the cemetery and meets Shepard Miles, Yurik's Crew, and Dorna, with tension so thick it threatens to erupt at any moment. That fuse is struck when Arioch appears as a golden-skinned elf and reveals the truth behind the tragedy binding them all together: Yurik is Arguile's biological father. Long ago, a bargain to save Arguile's life replaced Arguile's heart with his father's, at the cost of all parties forgetting one another. Fate, or Arioch's cruel amusement, later reunited Yurik and Dorna, resulting in the birth of Enich, Arguile's younger brother. All of it, Arioch admits, was done simply because it entertained him.Arioch then presents Yurik and Arguile with a horrific choice: his army needs a general, and there are two candidates for one position, so they must fight for it. Despite pleas and defiance, Yurik attacks first, begging forgiveness as Arguile refuses to strike back and challenges Arioch's logic. The demon's answer is merciless: it's more fun this way. To force compliance, Arioch seizes Dorna and threatens to kill and resurrect her repeatedly until they fight in earnest. After a brutal demonstration of his power, father and son are forced to take the duel seriously. The party can only watch, unable to intervene without certain death, offering what aid they can through spells and support, until Arioch halts all interference. When both Yurik and Arguile offer themselves to spare Dorna, Arioch instead forces Dorna to choose. He then cruelly infects Enich with the same disease that once afflicted Arguile, declaring her son's life limited either way. In the end, Yurik agrees to go with Arioch, granted only a brief farewell with his family, a devastating moment with no true victory. As Yurik is taken away, Enich escorts Dorna to safety in a nearby crypt, and the focus shifts to the remaining threat: Yurik's Crew preparing to fight. The party braces itself as battle erupts, immediately turning against them when a necromancer raises a dozen skeletons to swell the enemy ranks. Galahad is stunned out of the fight by a monk, Shanks lands a heavy blow on the cleric, only for them to heal and press on, and what once looked like a manageable encounter rapidly becomes a brutal, uphill struggle. With no clear victor in sight, the clash marks only the beginning of an even darker confrontation to come. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce Graphics Check out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. STATE REP. FRED SHANKS EXPLAINS HIS "NO" VOTE ON SCHOOL CHOICE
Family Matters Ch. 15Still in Ors Themar, the party finishes a short rest and prepares to escape, quickly realizing that leaving the city may be as dangerous as entering it. They navigate tight passages, dispel glyphs, and move with hushed precision, managing to avoid further combat and finally put distance between themselves and the city before making camp for the night. During watches, they process the weight of what they witnessed. Shanks thanks Yurik for the rescue, concerns are raised about Ors Themar's implications for Nakoroa, and the group reflects on how dire the situation may be.During the watches, deeper conversations unfold. Turk and Glad discuss Glad's fallout with The Protector, while Arguile admits he initially believed Yurik was the threat his mother, Dorna, was facing. Galahad and Shanks speak candidly about fear, death, how Galahad's aura functions, and a new potion Shanks has been developing. By morning, Shanks discovers a small copper coin and a raven's feather, an ominous sign, while Arguile notices the stone's count has dropped to two. Alarmed, the group breaks camp and heads back toward the city with urgency, stopping one last time at the now-empty field where the cursed cabin once stood. Overnight, the stone drops further, ticking down from 0.5 to 0.1 as they approach.Upon entering the city, a shepherd informs Yurik that Shepard Miles has summoned them to their usual meeting place. Before going, they detour to Yurik and Dorna's home, only to find it empty as the stone finally reaches zero. As Yurik struggles to understand where Dorna could be, questions arise about his connection to Shepard Miles. Shanks realizes Arioch has been manipulating events behind the scenes all along, and when Galahad asks about Yurik's sword, Yurik reveals it was given to him by Shepard Miles. Recognizing the urgency, Shanks insists they leave immediately, and as they rush to confront Shepard Miles, the group identifies Yurik's blade as Tempest's Edge. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce GraphicsCheck out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. After decades in conventional practice, Dr. Shanks reinvented how she practices to serve people with chronic, complex illness who were failed by the standard medical system. In this episode, they explore why so many are "walking wounded", how trauma (including trauma from the medical system itself) underlies much chronic illness, and why illness is often the body's intelligent healing response rather than a "broken" malfunction. They dive into COVID as a pandemic of human vulnerability, systemic gaslighting, polarization, and how cultural narratives and dogmatic biomedicine disconnect us from our bodies' wisdom. Highlights: "Illness is beautiful… it's a healing cycle." – "The only sustainable model of healthcare is one that works itself out of a job." "The bedrock of human illness and chronic disease is that we live according to these narratives where we don't even trust our bodies anymore." "Simple, small, and slow, that's my mantra." On the night of September 19, 1952, 22 year old Betty Shanks stepped off a tram in the Brisbane suburb of Grange and began the short walk home to her parents' house, less than 400 metres away. Within minutes, she was violently attacked and killed, her body discovered the following morning in a neighbour's garden. More than seventy years later, her murder remains Queensland's oldest unsolved homicide, defined by a narrow twelve minute window, unanswered questions, and a truth that has never been fully uncovered. Our other podcast: "FEARFUL" - https://open.spotify.com/show/56ajNkLiPoIat1V2KI9n5c?si=OyM38rdsSSyyzKAFUJpSywMERCH:https://www.redbubble.com/people/wickedandgrim/shop?asc=uPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/wickedandgrim?fan_landing=trueYoutube: https://www.youtube.com/@wickedlifeFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/wickedandgrim/ Instagram:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wickedandgrim/?hl=enTwitter: https://twitter.com/wickedandgrimWebsite: https://www.wickedandgrim.com/
In episode #1123 of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards kicks off Christmas week with a successful charity drive raising over $1,400 to cover adoption fees at local animal shelters, aiming to find homes for pets this holiday season. Edwards shares a motivational quote of the day: "Being surrounded by people smarter than you is an opportunity, not a competition." The episode's fun question: Did you go to Hooters for the food or the scenery? Discussion turns to controversy at TPUSA's Amfest, including a recreated tent from Charlie Kirk's assassination as a photo op and infighting among conservatives like Ben Shapiro and Tucker Carlson. Guest co-host State Rep. Fred Shanks joins for hours two and three, covering legislative plans like banning Sharia law and CAIR in Mississippi, PERS retirement reforms, school choice debates, and sports talk on Ole Miss's playoff run, college football predictions, and DK Metcalf's fan altercation.

Amid a chaotic tactical retreat, the party is scattered and under heavy pressure. Arguile is locked in combat with a draegloth, Shanks is on the brink of death, Yurik is struggling to reconnect with the group, and Galahad, glowing and highly visible, draws relentless enemy fire while attempting evasive maneuvers. Zechs deploys an axe beak from his Tan Bag of Tricks to disrupt the draegloth, while Duo delivers Shanks' chained alchemist fire to further weaken it, allowing Salix to extract Arguile by eagle. Meanwhile, Galahad is struck by a lightning arrow and badly injured, Turk and Glad remain stuck to him, and Salix, Zechs, and a barely lucid Arguile scramble to locate Shanks with no clear bearings.Duo is sent ahead to search and coordinate, eventually catching up to Yurik and guiding him through the chaos of Ors Thurmar. Zechs summons additional eagles to aid the search, but they are shot down, costing the group time and momentum. Turk and Glad fend off a chasme while stuck to Galahad, and Salix creates a decoy image to draw sniper fire, giving the party a chance to regroup and escape at low altitude. Yurik contributes by unleashing a firestorm toward the area where the group fell. Through quick thinking and teamwork, Salix, Zechs, and Arguile reach Shanks in time and pull him back from death. Once reunited, Zechs uses alcohol from the Bag of Holding to dissolve the substance binding Galahad, Turk, and Glad, allowing the party to move together again. The group is then approached by a pale man, urging them to move quickly and quietly, revealed to be Enich, Yurik's son and Arguile's half-brother. After brief explanations of his disappearance and how he's survived, Enich leads them to a hidden safe spot where they can rest and recover. The brothers share a quiet moment bonding over family memories, and Enich confirms hearing rumors of Elrin topside, but nothing of Arioch. Shanks and Arguile exchange coded words in Thieves' Cant, revealing that Arguile's stone has grown warmer in the Underdark and that its number has dropped significantly, raising new concerns. With questions unanswered but strength regained, Enich points out a route out of the city, and the party prepares to move on.There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIICheck out the show at themedusascascade.com

As the battle continues, resources dwindle, and there seems to be no end to the enemy in sight, it becomes clear that the party needs to regroup. Shanks is still making his way down and back to the group when Zechs hears Shanks go down through their coms. His target exacted revenge on him, but it's not the first time Shanks has knocked on Death's door. Time begins to slow down as Yurik grabs Arguile and heads off to pick up their fallen ally.Meanwhile, injured and starting to feel the need for a tactical retreat, Galahad opens his wings, grabbing Turk and Glad for a chase down the streets of Ors Themar, keeping himself below the height of the buildings that surround them. While taking a significant hit, he manages to drop his passengers, but with some speed and teamwork, and mostly the help of a certain Bubblegum Wand, the three are back together and continue their exit. Yurik is finally able to grab Shanks and uses Dimension Door to get himself near the group, now making their escape. With some quick thinking from Zechs, being carried by a giant eagle version of Salix and his Hole Thrower, he manages to put an 18-foot hole in the ground between them and their pursuers. He also tosses an item from his Tan Bag of Tricks, which turns out to be a baboon, that he lets loose on the enemy on their tails. Just another typical adventure for the Collateral crew, huh? Send us a textWhat if your recovery plan and daily health choices mattered more than any diagnosis code ever could? In this powerful episode, Dr. Karen Shanks joins us to break down why true healing starts long before medications—and why movement, nutrition, sleep, trauma awareness, and agency are the real drivers of recovery.Dr. Karen shares her journey from conventional internal medicine into a prevention-focused practice built on systems biology, root-cause thinking, and actually listening to patients. We talk about why chronic fatigue, post-op pain, and slow recoveries often remain unsolved—not because people are “broken,” but because the system is.You'll learn why graded movement accelerates surgical healing, how gentle loading reduces pain, why lymphatic flow matters, and how immobilization delays progress. We explore evidence-to-practice delays, flawed incentives in healthcare, and outdated measurements like BMI and low-fat dogma still taught today. Most importantly, we dig into agency: you are hiring your clinician, not giving up control. We discuss the mind–muscle connection, epigenetics, neuroplasticity, and how everyday choices—protein intake, strength work, sleep, stress, connection—reshape your biology from the inside out.Whether you're recovering from injury, navigating chronic symptoms, or simply want better health, this episode gives you clear tools to start today. A lot of women in midlife are walking around feeling like they're broken. You've done the labs, seen the specialists, tried the supplements… and you're still exhausted, inflamed, and wondering if this is just your new normal. My guest today says absolutely not.Dr. Karyn Shanks is a physician, author, and pioneer in whole-person healing whose work sits at the intersection of cutting-edge science, trauma-informed care, and what she calls “soulful personal agency.” For over three decades, she's helped thousands of patients recover from chronic illness, burnout, and emotional disconnection—not by chasing symptoms, but by teaching them to listen to the intelligent messages their bodies are sending. Her new book, Unbroken: Reclaim Your Wholeness, challenges the old medical model that fragments us (mind over here, body over there) and reframes illness as a call to reconnect with ourselves rather than proof that something is wrong with us.In this conversation, we dig into what it really means to heal from the inside out—especially in midlife, when chronic stress, caregiving, perfectionism, and old narratives can keep us stuck in survival mode. Dr. Shanks breaks down the science of epigenetics and neuroplasticity in simple, hopeful language, shows how trauma and limiting stories shape our biology, and shares practical “micro-practices” anyone can use to begin moving toward wholeness today. We cover:Why “you are not broken” is more than a comforting phrase—it's biologyHow epigenetics and neuroplasticity give us real power to change our health storyThe hidden ways trauma and productivity culture keep midlife women sick and depletedSimple daily practices to check in with yourself, build intuition, and create safety in your own bodyHow to start advocating for yourself when you've felt dismissed or unheard in the medical systemIf you've ever felt unseen by your providers, stuck in a diagnosis, or disconnected from your own body, this episode will give you both a new lens—and a starting place—for true healing. You can find Dr. Karyn Shanks at https://www.karynshanksmd.com/Instagram https://www.instagram.com/karynshanksmd/Her book, Unbroken: Reclaim Your Wholeness, is now available wherever books are sold._________________________________________1:1 health and nutrition coaching or Faster Way - Reach me anytime at mailto:mfolanfasterway@gmail.com If you're doing “all the right things” and still feel stuck, it may be time to look deeper. Shanks brings the house down, and in a way, sets the stage for this next fight to take place. As he scales down while avoiding debris, he also takes note that he didn't kill his intended target, but at the very least, he's immobilized from what he can tell. Keeping communication going with Zechs, trying his best to maintain a line of sight, and scaling down the rugged terrain is taking every bit of mental energy from our demolition elf. Meanwhile, the party faces off against an iron golem, multiple Chasme, scavengers, and has Armenites incoming. While they aren't taking heavy damage by any means, they are already feeling the fatigue, mental drain, and dwindling resources as they face off against another seemingly endless wave of enemies. The once quiet streets of Ors Themar now grow louder with the clanging of metal, buzzing of chasime, hoofs in the distance nearing closer, and spells being shot off from the spell casters. It's still too early to call a winner; there's a lot of fight left to have, and so much of the city still to explore. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIICheck out the show at themedusascascade.com
