This one is Claude Sonnet 5 - did a decent job. Got Gemini to do it at the same time and it was SHIT. --------------------------Jack the Insider and Hong Kong Jack open with an air-conditioner instalation story that would give any WHS officer a heart attack, before diving into the immigration debate consuming the Western world, Albo's cringeworthy podcast melon gag and the diplomatic fallout with Japan, Angus Taylor's Twitter misfire, a grim Newspoll for Labor, the conviction of former Bishop Christopher Saunders, the unravelling Mahmoud Fazal/Four Corners scandal, an AI Royal Commission, Israel's rejection of the Gaza peace plan, Ukraine's drone edge, a spot of Marxism 101, and a bumper sports wrap covering the Ashes build-up, Geelong's concussion waiver scandal and the NRL's new PNG and Perth franchises.00:00:26 — Cold open: Hong Kong air-con drama. Hong Kong Jack recounts tradesmen scaling the building exterior, tying off to a sewer pipe and rigging a platform in under an hour — a workplace safety non-starter back home.00:01:20 — Immigration policy in limbo. Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke pulls his National Press Club address after Cabinet gets cold feet on migration numbers; One Nation capitalises on the vacuum.00:02:17 — Paul Kelly on the West's immigration reckoning. The hosts unpack Kelly's column on multiculturalism's failures in Europe versus its comparative success in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US, and why a clear pathway to national identity matters.00:04:23 — The politician/public disconnect. A Financial Times study (John Burn-Murdoch) showing big gaps between public and political opinion on migrant assimilation across Britain, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.00:06:10 — Is the far right the cause or the symptom? A robust back-and-forth on whether One Nation, AfD, Reform UK and Le Pen's party are driving the backlash or simply capitalising on governments that lost control of migration systems.00:08:50 — Albo's podcast melon gag fallout. The PM's crass "melons" line about the Japanese Prime Minister on a comedy podcast draws a diplomatic complaint from Tokyo and calls for an apology he still hasn't given.00:10:39 — Why politicians chase the "youth" podcast circuit. Discussion of Albo's ties to Sandilands-style FM radio and whether the audience numbers justify the reputational risk.00:12:32 — Latika Bourke's double standard question. Would a corporate CEO survive the same scrutiny as a Prime Minister? The Jacks disagree on how novel the standard really is.00:14:14 — Angus Taylor's Twitter misfire. A dissected, over-written tweet accusing the "socialist" Albanese government lands badly — "people might think they're bumbling fools, but they don't think they're socialist."00:15:53 — Angus Taylor and the ICAC donation question. A circular exchange over an unresolved email regarding a potential donation tied to a group under ICAC scrutiny.00:17:52 — Coalition social media strategy. Jane Hume's five-a-day Instagram habit and whether the Coalition's messaging is landing with anyone at this point in the electoral cycle.00:18:52 — Productivity and work-from-home. Westpac CEO Anthony Miller warns rates could stay elevated into 2028 without a productivity fix; Victoria shelves its work-from-home legislation ahead of the planned 1 September start.00:21:36 — Red tape and the housing/business regulation debate. Building approval bottlenecks, the Coalition's building-standards rollback proposal, and why company/tax reporting (not ABN registration) is the real handicap for small business.00:24:14 — Newspoll: Labor's primary vote "plunges." Labor down to 29 percent (from 31), described by the Jacks as more "meandering" than plunging — with a look at how far off Labor is from its 34.5 percent election benchmark.00:25:31 — Kos Samaras/RedBridge on the new voter blocs. A breakdown of Labor's inner-city, under-45, migrant-heavy base; One Nation's mortgage-stressed, outer-suburban trades vote; and the Coalition's shrinking, wealthy, over-55 remnant — plus where the Jacks think the analysis oversimplifies.00:28:42 — How the Coalition lost its heartland. Reflections on 19 years of Coalition government since Howard, the failure to read demographic warning signs, and the loss of both the "asset rich" and "asset poor" ends of its old coalition.00:31:49 — Content warning: child sexual abuse. Former Bishop of Broome Christopher Saunders, 76, found guilty of one count of sexual penetration and multiple indecent assault charges against a young Indigenous man; sentencing yet to be scheduled.00:32:50 — Saunders' pattern of behaviour. Allegations of financial mismanagement, smuggling alcohol into dry Indigenous communities, a 2019 police raid uncovering exploitation material, and a Vatican finding he likely abused Indigenous youth.00:34:59 — The Bishop Ronald Mulkearns parallel. The Ballarat bishop's Royal Commission appearance and mysterious final holiday hosted by Saunders in Broome shortly before his death.00:37:06 — The Four Corners/Mahmoud Fazal scandal. Fazal's background as a self-described former Mongols bike gang sergeant-at-arms turned journalist; his Cocaine Nation and Meth Highway reports pulled from air, along with a Background Briefing program.00:38:33 — Media Watch's verdict. Linton Besser's assessment that Fazal was "embellishing his journalism," and how ABC's editorial oversight failed across two flagship programs.00:39:39 — The Jordan Shanks (Friendly Jordies) threat allegations. Fazal's alleged role relaying threats from the Alameddine crime family after Shanks' house was firebombed twice; Fazal disputes the death-threat characterisation.00:41:36 — Where journalism crosses into participation. Jack the Insider's personal rule against interviewing active criminals, and a wider discussion of when reporters become "players" rather than observers — including a detour to the "Poison Dwarf," Clayton Milne.00:46:20 — A 2006 ice epidemic documentary as the gold standard. A comparison piece where public health officials and police saw the crystal meth wave coming years before government — done properly, without masked, unverifiable sources.00:48:21 — South Australia's $3 million AI Royal Commission. Premier Peter Malinauskas announces the inquiry; the Jacks are sceptical it will produce much, suspecting it's more about attracting AI investment.00:49:27 — The AI investment bubble risk. Massive capital flowing into Anthropic, Meta and Google versus cheaper, competitive Chinese models — and what that imbalance could mean for the S&P 500's AI-heavy weighting.00:51:00 — Israel rejects Trump's 15-point Gaza plan. Distrust that Hamas will disarm, and why the stakes feel existential rather than abstract for Israelis.00:52:32 — Israel's 27 October election. Netanyahu's fragile coalition, Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Smotrich's collapsing poll numbers, and the growing backlash over ultra-Orthodox exemptions from IDF service.00:57:09 — Ukraine: Starlink access and drone warfare. Elon Musk restricting Ukrainian Starlink use against Russia, a declined meeting with Trump, and Ukraine's drone successes — including a joint exercise with US forces in Germany.01:00:29 — Reports of distress aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. Unconfirmed accounts of sailors going overboard after roughly ten months of continuous deployment.01:01:52 — Stephen Kotkin on Marxism's enduring appeal. Why intellectuals keep returning to Marxist ideas despite the historical body count — and a tangent on campus recruitment, ASIO and the "special role" intellectuals imagine for themselves.01:05:15 — Iran, Cambodia and the fate of the intellectual class. Historical examples of revolutions turning on the intelligentsia that helped bring them about.01:06:06 — Sport check: the Ashes build-up begins. Australia's shaky start against Bangladesh, Steve Smith's lucky reprieve, and questions over Alex Carey's batting position and the middle order.01:08:24 — Selection headaches: Labuschagne and Nathan Lyon. Marnus Labuschagne's technical struggles and whether Lyon plays out the year, with the World Test Championship and next year's Ashes on the horizon.01:11:03 — Geelong's concussion contract waiver scandal. A player reportedly signing away his right to sue over concussion management; questions over why the club didn't submit the waiver to the AFL or AFLPA, and calls for points deductions rather than fines.01:16:04 — Jake Kelly's likely retirement and player consent. Whether it matters who initiated the waiver, and why players will "sign anything" to keep playing despite long-term brain injury risks.01:18:30 — NRL expansion: PNG Chiefs and Perth Bears. Tax-free salaries giving PNG Chiefs an effective cap advantage, players relocating to a purpose-built village in Port Moresby, and Perth's 2027 entry into the competition.01:22:36 — Poaching rugby fans, AFL's expansion and wildcard finals. The Perth Bears' leadership, Tasmania Devils' draft concessions, Nigel Lappin's coaching move, and early impressions of the AFL's new wildcard finals round.

The Blooming Court Ch. 13The battle continues, and it's anyone's guess as to who will come out on top. While the party does manage to gain the advantage, the opposition has the numbers on their side and spell resistances. Arguile is dominated and told to take out the healer, who is, circumstantially, Salix. Shanks goes down but is picked right back up with a combat medic maneuver from Duo via a Goodberry. Immediately after getting up, Shanks takes out the person who dominated Arguile, freeing him of the spell. Glad and Galahad make quick work, tearing through the cannon fodder; eventually, the fighting comes to a close, and the party can heal and rest up until the Force Cage spell drops on the Executioner. It's during the conversation with The Executioner that the party discovers where her allegiances truly lie. Galahad takes the lead in this and not only gets her true name, but also her complicated situation and turn of events that led her into league with The Constable. At one point, it's revealed that The Judge is the surviving member of the Gargoyle Unit, the same elite unit that Argo and Antonius are surviving members of in this reality. With revelations made, cards put on the table, and newfound allies formed, the party works with The Executioner to be a double agent, which will prove very tricky and dangerous but would be a huge win for them and their allies who are trying to stop the planes from colliding. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage! The One Piece fandom is in absolute chaos right now, and we are here for all of it.First up, Scopper Gaban has finally arrived in the anime. After 25 years of waiting, the Roger Pirates' left-hand man steps into the main story. We're breaking down what his appearance means, his brief clash with Luffy, and that flashback that reminds us just how wild the Roger era really was. Then, Luffy and Zoro freed Loki. The Accursed Prince's chains are off. Hajrudin warned them not to do it. Luffy did it anyway. Now Loki is standing with Ragnir in hand while the Holy Knights move in the shadows. We're talking about what this means for Elbaf and why Luffy's decision could change everything. And finally, the hot take that's going to get us ratio'd: Shamrock Figarland is a more compelling character than Shanks. Same face. None of the warmth. Commander of the Holy Knights. Son of Garling. Shanks without the moral compass. We're breaking down why we think Shamrock is the dark twin Shanks never could be, and why that makes him way more interesting. Plus, we dive into the Norse mythology connections—Sköll and Hati—and what that could mean for the twins' dynamic. No recaps. Just reactions, theories, and the takes that are going to get people talking.Come fight us in the comments. The Abundance Journey: Accelerating Revenue With An Abundance Mindset
What if you've spent your life trying to fix something that was never actually broken? Many of us interpret exhaustion, anxiety, chronic illness, grief, or emotional overwhelm as evidence that something is wrong with us. But what if these experiences aren't signs of failure at all? What if they're intelligent messages inviting us to reconnect with our inherent wholeness? In this powerful conversation, Elaine welcomes physician, author, and transformational teacher Dr. Karyn Shanks, whose groundbreaking book UnBroken: Reclaim Your Wholeness challenges one of the most deeply rooted beliefs in modern culture—that suffering means we're broken.Together they explore how our bodies continually communicate wisdom, why true healing begins with safety and compassion, and how learning to trust your inner guidance can transform every aspect of your life.If you've ever wondered whether healing is truly possible—or sensed there must be more than simply treating symptoms—this conversation will inspire you to reclaim your inner power and remember who you've been all along.Topics Covered0:00 What if you were never broken?3:20 Why your body is constantly communicating with you10:45 Healing is a natural process—not something you earn14:40 Redefining abundance through the lens of wholeness17:45 The nervous system, safety, and why healing begins there20:00 Becoming a vessel instead of a victim24:40 Letting go of limiting stories about what's possible30:30 Why you—not your doctor—remain the leader of your healing journey34:20 Learning to read your body's wisdom with compassion37:15 The upcoming UnBroken Sanctuary and free resourcesKey Takeaways

Amid a desperate retreat through Ors Themar, the party is scattered and under relentless pressure. A draegloth pins down Arguile, Shanks teeters on the brink of death, Galahad draws constant enemy fire, and Yurik struggles to regroup with the others. Through quick thinking, Zechs, Salix, Duo, and the rest manage to extract Arguile, rescue Shanks, free Galahad, Turk, and Glad from a magical binding, and reunite the party. They are then led to safety by Enich, Yurik's son and Arguile's half-brother, who provides refuge, shares what he knows of Ors Themar, and helps them recover before guiding them toward an escape route. After narrowly escaping the city, the party reflects on what they've witnessed during camp while Arguile's mysterious stone rapidly counts down. Shanks discovers a copper coin and a raven's feather, and growing signs point to Arioch's manipulation. Racing back into the city after the stone reaches zero, they find Dorna missing, identify Yurik's sword as Tempest's Edge, and rush to answer Shepard Miles' summons. At the cemetery, Arioch reveals the devastating truth: Yurik is Arguile's biological father, having sacrificed his own heart to save his son at the cost of everyone's memories. Later reunited with Dorna through Arioch's cruel amusement, the two unknowingly had Enich together. Arioch forces father and son to duel for the right to become his general, threatening to endlessly kill and resurrect Dorna until they comply while infecting Enich with the same deadly illness that once plagued Arguile. Though the party aids from the sidelines, they are powerless to stop him. Yurik ultimately chooses to go willingly with Arioch after an emotional farewell, leaving the party to battle Shepard Miles' forces. The ensuing fight quickly becomes a brutal uphill struggle as a necromancer raises undead, a monk repeatedly stuns Galahad and Turk, and the enemy relentlessly presses its advantage. Galahad receives Bahamut's blessing after falling in battle, rising with divine power. At the same time, Arguile slays the cleric, Shanks, Arguile, and Zechs eliminate the monk, and the remaining undead are slowly cleared. The battle reaches its darkest moment when the necromancer casts Power Word Kill, instantly killing Shanks before later dropping Turk with Cone of Cold, while Zechs also falls unconscious. As each fallen hero enters the Veil, they receive life-changing encounters: Shanks speaks with The Hunter, fully awakening Mind's Eye, and later receives the Matron of Ravens' blessing to oppose the Constable; Turk confronts Kas the Bloody-Handed, who strips him of his warlock powers after he refuses to serve him further; and Zechs finds peace with Tumra, the Snow Leopard, awakening with her white handprint upon him. Salix ultimately revives Shanks, the party defeats the remaining enemies, and the family reunites before returning to the city. Though shaken, they recover what spoils they can, spend an evening mourning and celebrating with matching tattoos, share their divine experiences, and help Galahad acquire a Belt of Giant Strength. With new equipment, plans to retrieve Glad's boon, and a long-overdue trip to the Ren Faire ahead, the party finally earns a brief respite after one of the most harrowing chapters of their journey. There's so much happening, and we pick up with arc 30, “The Blooming Court”. The Blooming Court Ch. 10Rested and relieved in the Magnificent Mansion, the group breaks into different conversations. Arguile helps Turk with his Thieves' Cant; Zechs fiddles with the multitool, prompting him to tell Shanks about the tools at his disposal and ask if any can help; and he later goes to Hoshino's room to check in on him, as he knows that he's feeling the results of weeks and months of reconnaissance with the Journeyman, after which Zechs shares his experience meeting Tumra. Before starting the day's journey, Shanks goes out to scout and informs the group that there are more trees there than there were the previous day. After leaving the mansion, the party is contacted mentally by the Queen, displeased that the group passed their intended destination. A tense exchange occurs primarily between Hoshino and the Queen, and Hoshino convinces the Queen that the group will indeed retrieve the Song Bloom, on the way back from taking care of their other business, retrieving Glad's boon. The Queen, very obviously impatient and suspicious, tells the party to wrap up what they're doing quickly and retrieve the Song Bloom by day's end. Slightly relieved to have the conversation over, the group looks to Glad for guidance on where to go next and what to do. Looking out over the lake, Glad meditates briefly, then informs everyone that they will have to trust her, but they will need to wait until high noon before they can go anywhere. They understand her and reassure her that they trust her. They kill some time having a bit of a beach day before Glad slowly heads into the lake, and suddenly disappears. The group, concerned, tries to follow her in her wake and succeeds in reaching the temple entrance, where they seem to be looking at the water's surface from below their feet and can breathe normally. Once inside, Hoshino asks the group to gather for a spirit session to gather the magical energy needed for the Commune spell. Calling upon the Daughter of the Vine, he asks about their task at hand and what they should do. He gets answers, but not necessarily the ones he was at the very least expecting. Glad and the party traverse deeper into the temple and eventually find an orb that transfers Glad away from the party. Mildly concerned, they try to follow her, but to no avail. We end with the party discussing their exit strategy and whether they will continue to be pawns in the Queen's plans or suffer the wrath of defying the Fey Queen and heeding Shankise's warning to cease what they're doing. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral Damage!Theme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce Graphics Check out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. The Blooming Court Ch. 9We start with the group after their encounter with Shankise and his grim warning. The group meets to decide how to move forward, and Zechs suggests rushing through to widen the gap between the party and their overseers. The idea being that if they can widen the gap, it would give them time to reach Glad's boon and go the long way around the treants to avoid it without raising too much suspicion. It's not an impossible idea, though it wouldn't be easy by any means, as the group will be running at full speed with Zechs leading the way and the group following closely in tow. While it happened as planned, we encountered minor difficulties that could have become major hurdles without the group's teamwork.Upon finishing their trek, they find a camp and ask Hoshino to provide a haven for the night so they can rest in peace, given the environment and their previous encounters. It's not quite as lavish as their last stay in the Magnificent Mansion, but it's far better than the alternative, and for that, they're grateful. After some food, conversation, and rest, we see Glad in a dream where she is shown the location of The Daughter of the Vine. The morning comes, and with a full night of stressless sleep, the party feels a wave of exhaustion lifted for them. With everyone but Shanks downstairs for breakfast, Zechs takes it upon himself to check in on him. To no one's surprise, he's been burning the midnight oil and has been tinkering with some of the tools in his kit. First showing Zechs the dismantled "bombs away" and telling Duo he's made him a frag grenade he can take into combat in the future. This gets Zechs' wheels turning, and he informs Shanks that he'll work with him and Salix on some new toys moving forward. After a brief discussion on death, morality, and the judgment of the many for the sins of some, they move forward with the plan to have Shanks scout. While the next leg of the journey isn't a sprint, as it was the previous day, it is still quite the trek, and the land is showing its feywild nature with every step. There are some combined efforts of stealth and utilizing everyone's kits to help them traverse the terrain, and it shows just how far the group has come, not only individually but as a team as well. All this gets them through the treants' area and to the supposed location of the temple. Eventually coming up to a lake with water that almost looks like glass, still and serene. The group takes the time to rest and gather themselves. 8We pick back up as Shanks informs Zechs who their unexpected company is. Zechs, reluctant, proceeds to tell Galahad the news. Zechs then proceeds to group the party and, in hushed tones, make the situation known to them. Turk and Hoshino get a very abbreviated version of why everyone's suddenly so tense. Plans are made and instructions given as they continue to move with business as usual. To make matters worse, someone who might be Shanks' alternate or an impersonator is messing with the group. First with Hoshino, then with Zechs, who confirms it's his alternate Shankise. Shankise manages to ruffle the feathers and get under the skin of Turk, crossing a line that comes with anger and threats. They press on, under the added stress on their minds, and eventually make camp. Duo takes first watch with Zechs, who gives him the rundown on the situation. On the second watch, Salix & Turk discuss their past and speak to their patrons, current and former. The final watch consists of Galahad and Hoshino discussing the alternates, Hoshino's conversation he's yet to bring up to the group, and some of what Hoshino missed while the party helped Arguile.Zechs gets a wake-up call from Shanks, who tells him, "The Loxodon is casting some shit." As information is relayed back and forth and the group starts waking up, Shanks realizes his hunter's mark spell has dropped. With that, Shanks was snuck up on by his alternate, who told him to bring him to the party for a chat. Shanks relays this to Zechs, who then relays it to Galahad and Hoshino, telling them this is supposedly just a conversation, and they'll know if it goes south if he says BARRAGE. Shankise, having been charmed by Shanks, approaches the group and states plainly that they should stop what they're doing. To which they have some distrust, but find no reason for him to lie. He informs them that they don't know what chain of events their actions will set in motion, and that they should consider the factors at play. Some more exchange is had, and "pleasantries" are given before, in a veil of shadows, Shankise disappears. There's so much happening, and that's where we pick up…Find out what happens next in this episode of the Medusa's Cascade: Collateral DamageTheme Music is written and performed by EfflorescenceMixed by Thomas Lapierre IIITitle Card by Pierce Graphics Check out the show at themedusascascade.com Hosted on Acast. The Blooming Court Ch. 7Upon the group's decision and departure, a rough semblance of a plan begins to form. Utilizing the knowledge that Shanks possesses of the Songbloom in combination with Zechs' ranger abilities to find its location. Throughout their detour to obtain Glad's boon, Galahad expresses his frustration with their situation and his disdain for the area. Eventually, the group breaks for the evening, and we see Turk getting another lesson in Thieves' Cant and informing Shanks that he has quite the singing voice. Hoshino joins the two, and Turk informs Hoshino about how he got his nickname, Big T, and Hoshino regales them with a named tale of Arguile and Shanks fighting the Gathakanathi warriors. On this watch, Shanks gets the feeling, which is later confirmed, that they're being watched. The second watch is Arguile and Hoshino, in which Hoshino learns about what transpired after his departure, particularly with his family and Arioch. Hoshino apologizes for not being there for him, but Arguile stops him and lets him know there's nothing to forgive. Quickly changing the subject, Arguile asks his opinion on his fellow bard and who would be the better of the two. Hoshino deflects with a humble answer, and Arguile laughs. They go get Galahad and Zechs for the final watch. The conversation is light with Zechs poking fun at Galahad's frustrations. Eventually, they wake the others and make preparations for the day, organizing spells and getting their daily goodberry. Duo confirms that their destination is about 2 days away. Shanks and Zechs continue to get the sense that they're being watched. With that, Shanks decides to go into stealth mode to see if he can get eyes on their pursuers. We end with Shanks activating his gem of seeing, and he sees an armor-clad Loxodon that's all too familiar with the group. This week, Tee sits down with Dr. Karyn Shanks, a physician, author, and functional medicine practitioner who has spent over four decades helping individuals recover from chronic, complex illness. Once trained in conventional medicine, Dr. Karyn shares that her early clinical experience revealed a gap; she could diagnose and prescribe, but many patients were still left without real solutions. This realization led her to explore a more integrative path, combining functional medicine, epigenetics, neuroplasticity, and transformational psychology to better understand the full picture of human health. Her work is grounded in a powerful belief: the body is inherently wise, and healing begins by listening to it. In addition, Tee and Dr. Karyn unpack the limitations of conventional medicine when it comes to chronic illness and why a "whole-person" approach is essential. They discuss the importance of identifying root causes rather than masking symptoms, and how factors like sleep, stress, trauma, nutrition, and environmental toxins all shape our health outcomes. Dr. Shanks introduces the concept of the "terrain of healing," explaining how everyday lifestyle choices influence our biology and genetic expression. She also shares her personal health journey with hypermobility syndrome and chronic fatigue, offering insight into how understanding the body's signals can lead to meaningful recovery and resilience. Dr. Karyn also emphasizes the importance of personal agency—encouraging listeners to take an active role in their health through tools like comprehensive blood work, toxin reduction, and mindful lifestyle shifts. From supporting detoxification and reducing environmental exposures to addressing emotional patterns and stress responses, this episode highlights practical, accessible ways to move toward vitality. Her book, Unbroken, serves as a compassionate guide for anyone seeking to better understand their body and reclaim their health. The message is clear: you are not broken—your body is communicating, and when you learn to listen, healing becomes possible. In this engaging episode Host Myrna Young, and Dr. Karyn Shanks delves into the compelling topic of mitigating chronic illness and emotional disconnection. The discussion highlights how contemporary science, specifically epigenetics and neuroplasticity, underscores our capacity to influence health outcomes, challenging the perception that individuals are irreparably "broken" by illness or trauma. Dr. Shanks elucidates the transformative power of holistic approaches, emphasizing the potential of shifting paradigms towards personalized, proactive self-care and healing strategies. The conversation further scrutinizes the limitations of the dominant medical paradigm, which often views the body as a machine of isolated parts. Dr. Shanks argues for a functional medicine approach that regards individuals as whole beings, integrating body, mind, and spirit to optimize health. The dialogue touches on how trauma can exacerbate chronic conditions by fostering maladaptive behaviors and biological depletion, and offers insights into initial steps that listeners can take towards more robust health. Through this episode, listeners gain valuable perspectives on taking charge of their health, highlighting the importance of self-awareness and personal agency in overcoming health challenges.Timestamp Summary0:02 Harnessing Epigenetics and Neuroplasticity 5:30 Empowering Self-Healing Through Understanding and Addressing Emotional Wounds13:18 The Impact of Trauma on Chronic Illness and Healing22:38 The Disconnect Between Conventional and Functional Medicine Paradigms30:12 Steps to Holistic Healing and Self-Connection36:36 Strengthening Immunity and Resilience in a Post-Pandemic World41:35 Harnessing Epigenetics for Personal Empowerment and ResilienceResources:Karyn Shanks' Website: KarenShanksMD.comBook : Heal: A Nine Stage Roadmap to Recover EnergySponsors of this episode Spark Energy + Focus is your go-to pre-workout ritual when you need reliable energy to power through the day. drinkspark.com and use code TRANSFORM for 30% off and free shipping With Wegovy at Hers, lose up to 20% or more of your body weight when combined with diet and exercise. The Blooming Court Ch. 5The group, minus Arguile and Galahad, is recovering from the crash and taking stock of what they lost and what they can recover. Before Duo heads out with Shanks to scout, Zechs urges Duo to be vigilant, as the last time they were in the feywild, he nearly lost Duo to the Feywild, and Duo assures him that he'll be careful. With that, Shanks and Duo conduct a quick scout of the area and confirm that the forest is dense and that the denizens are abundant. With a quick ping of Zechs' primeval awareness, he confirms the overwhelming amount of fey in the area. Given the recon, they discuss ways to keep themselves safe if the need arises, using their kits, such as protection from Evil and Good or Galahad's aura. Glad takes a moment to make an offer to the land, asking for safe passage. With that, the group sets off and encounters a pixie with a taste for booze. The more Glad engages with them, the more apparent Zechs' disapproval becomes. While Glad gets herself into a sticky situation with the fey, she's able to relieve herself of the pixie after giving it some booze from the minibar, guiding it into a fey trap. To which Zechs further stresses that the group does their best to follow his lead and instructions, as he is the only one of the group who has actually lived in the Feywild, which gets some jokes about him being no fun, but the group obliges.Zechs eventually finds the group a good spot to camp for the evening, and they break into watches, with Arguile and Shanks taking first watch, joined by Duo. They discuss how Duo wants to do more than sit on the sidelines and scout, and the rogues encourage him to tell his dad how he feels. They also tell him that they'll back him up and help teach him things if that makes things easier, which he's grateful for. The second watch is Turk and Galahad, where Turk reveals why the crash left him so shaken and reveals more about his time before meeting the group. After which, they discuss Paladin oaths, and Galahad speaks about his training with Antonius, the markings on his arm symbolizing each year committed to each oath, and eventually running into the party. He assures Turk that the group will be there to aid him if he ever asks, whether for training or to take down Kaz, to which Turk is grateful. The Blooming Court Ch. 4We pick back up with the group making final plans and preparations so they can head to Uscana for Glad's boone. Arguile suggests that, since it would take quite a long time by land or sea, and even by airship, the group uses the Strauss company jet piloted by Baf, who retires after this final ride. The group has many questions about how the aircraft works and emergency plans in the event the plane goes down. Arguile does his best to quell nerves, even pointing out that he doesn't like flying but feels safe in there. The group discusses how to approach their destination as the Feywild partially inhabits Uscana, and several, but not limited to, the Blooming Court has control. Zechs tells the party what he can of his time in the Feywild, and cosigns Glad's warnings of using real names and their traps because, as we know, the Fey are assholes.Their journey isn't all smooth sailing: the group is under attack by flying fey creatures, Shanks is momentarily blinded, and their pilot doesn't make it. The group gets ready for a fight while Glad and Turk do their best to land the jet safely. Galahad takes flight and makes quick work of the main assailant as the group does their best against fey magic and now descending jet. The fight is won, but the crew makes a bumpy crash landing at their destination. Hopefully, they can finish this quest better than how they started it. As the party journeys toward Ors Themar, they encounter more creatures of the Underdark before overhearing a tense Drow scouting group speaking about them in Undercommon. After a wary exchange, the two groups discover a shared ally in Nettie and agree to travel together. While Yuirk and Arguile pass the time with Dragonchess, the party learns of Ors Themar's dire state and prepares for the dangers ahead, including the ominous Chasme whose droning echoes through the tunnels. Upon reaching the outskirts, they slip past the front gate and enter a ruined, silent city where danger quickly finds them. A gargoyle ambush ignites a massive battle, soon joined by scavengers, Chasme, and a charging force of Armanites as the party struggles to conserve resources and survive. The fight intensifies as Shanks is struck by an unknown sniper's massive arrow, prompting him to pursue the hidden threat while the others press deeper into the devastated streets in search of Enich. Arguile deciphers Thieves' Cant that hints at possible clues, but before the party can investigate further, they are confronted by an iron golem, forcing another exhausting battle. Meanwhile, Shanks locates the sniper's perch, sets an explosive trap, and collapses the structure, only to realize his target survived. The chaos escalates as the team fights wave after wave of enemies, the city ringing with clashing metal, buzzing wings, and thundering hooves, until Shanks' frantic updates suddenly cut off as he's struck down in retaliation. With resources nearly spent and enemies still swarming, the party begins a desperate retreat. Yurik uses Dimension Door to recover Shanks, while Galahad ferries allies through the streets under heavy fire. Zechs, carried by Salix in giant eagle form, creates a massive pit with his Hole Thrower to slow their pursuers and even tosses a summoned baboon from his Bag of Tricks to add to the chaos. Bloodied, exhausted, and barely holding the line, the Collateral crew manages to regroup and flee deeper into Ors Themar, another narrowly survived chapter in their relentless fight through a city under siege. There's so much happening, and we pick up with arc 29, “Demon's Arithmetic”. In the middle of a major incident, security teams face a brutal paradox: the faster things move, the harder it becomes to capture what's actually happening. Cydarm Technologies was built to solve exactly that. Vaughan Shanks, Co-Founder and CEO, describes the platform as a system of record for the SOC -- a purpose-built case management tool that captures who knew what, when, and why, in real time, throughout the lifecycle of an incident. Most of Cydarm's customers sit in government, defense, and critical infrastructure -- organizations where the pressure of regulatory compliance, legal accountability, and board-level reporting is highest. But the value extends well beyond compliance. Shanks draws a direct line from his time in Australian federal government to the philosophy behind Cydarm: good record keeping is good governance. When a capital-I incident is declared, legal, HR, communications, the C-Suite, and the board all need a view in. Cydarm's fine-grained, attribute-based access control makes it possible to give each stakeholder exactly the access they need -- and no more. What sets Cydarm apart from the ticketing systems most teams already have? Shanks puts it plainly: ITSM was built for IT service management, not adversarial cyber threats. The volume, velocity, and variety of SecOps are simply different. Cydarm is designed to feel more like WhatsApp and less like ITSM -- rich data format support, Easy Connect integrations, and a collaborative experience built specifically for high-frequency security operations. Teams that have built workarounds in existing tools know the maintenance burden that comes with it. Cydarm eliminates that mess. The post-incident dimension is where the system of record pays compounding dividends. Shanks outlines three paths: individual incident reports with adjustable significance levels for different audiences; longitudinal metrics capture that reveals the threat environment your controls aren't blocking; and resource justification data that gives security leaders the evidence to defend headcount and budgets. One customer -- a security leader at a major household brand -- had never experienced a breach, and had long struggled to justify the size of their team. With Cydarm's metrics, they finally had the data to make the argument. This is a Brand Spotlight. What if your symptoms weren't signs of failure… but intelligent messages from your body?
You can follow a solid protocol for Hashimoto's and still feel like something is not fully clicking.Your labs may look better. Your inflammation markers may improve. But your body still feels braced, wired, or unable to truly settle. In this episode, Inna sits down with Dr. Karyn Shanks to talk about a layer of healing that rarely gets addressed, hypervigilance. We explore how overfunctioning, overworking, and constantly being on can become a stress pattern that keeps cortisol elevated and the immune system reactive. Not because you are failing, but because your nervous system has learned to stay alert. You will see how sensations like throat tightness, chest constriction, or a constant sense of urgency are not random. We talk about the difference between a sensation and the story your brain builds around it, and why giving a feeling space for even ninety seconds can shift your physiology. We also discuss trauma informed care, why safety has to come before deeper healing, and how overdoing can be tied to worthiness and performance rather than true resilience.Healing is not only biochemical. It is also nervous system regulation, emotional awareness, and learning when to say yes and when to say no.This episode will help you look at your thyroid healing through a wider lens and understand what might still be keeping your body on guard. For full show notes, please see:https://innatopiler.com/podcasts/hashimotos-protocol-karyn-shanks/Get ThyroLove - the first all in one bottle multi-nutrient comprehensive formula designed specifically for those with Thyroid Autoimmunity at ThyroLove.com - use code “Podcast” to get 10% off and free shipping If you are struggling to lose weight with Hashimoto's, Inna has a 10 day plan just for you at InnaTopiler.com/jumpstartIf you need help with fatigue or brain fog with Hashimoto's, please check out Inna's 9 Day Exhaustion Solution at innatopiler.com/energyIf you don't yet know your thyroid type, please be sure you sign up for Inna's next free training at InnaTopiler.com/zoomcallFor more information about everything Hashimoto's please visit InnaTopiler.com
