I started this podcast because of my love for classic rock music, and how music is a huge part of my life. Excited now that I have time on my hands its time to get started. I want to talk about topics that are classic in nature and make us the people we are today. It's about how perspective can be transformed in to life lessons. We are just going to talk about real talk, real shit. It may not always be pretty. Keep it Classy!Love Anya
Welcome to Porgy and Bess in the 21st Century with my guest Aaron Reeder. So here's a little bit about Aaron Reeder. Entrepreneur, researcher, performer, educator: All of these could be on Aaron Reeder’s business card, but he prefers to call himself an ARTrepreneur (Artist + Entrepreneur = ARTrepreneur.) Engaged professionally in theaters, opera houses, museums and educational institutions around the world in the capacity of facilitator, lecturer and performer, Reeder is exceptionally skilled at combining his very different fields of study and interests –music, collaboration, marketing, and history -- into one profession. Beginning in 2014, Reeder was on roster with the US State Department’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs’ Cultural Programs Division as an Arts Envoy and speaker. Implementing and delivering coordinated arts integrated programs for schools and organizations his work has been described as, “art [that] helps other people find their own voice and means of creative expression”. Whoa okay!!! We discuss the latest revival of, Porgy and Bess at the Metropolitan Opera, NYC. and all the stuff that goes with it! We talk about the history of the piece, racism, and the cultural shift that is taking place in the world of opera. Please enjoy!
This episodes is an panel of some of my favorite artists talking about the, BLACK LIVES MATTER Movement. This show was produced by, LATIDO DC's premiere musical theatre cabaret and spoken word series. How did we get here? We talk "real" talk. We talk about what it has been to be black in America and BLACK in Trump's America. We talk about the shootings, we talk about systemic racism, we talk about how we need to pick up the baton. It's a special kind of show. We have poets, song, silence and anger. This show kicks off my, ican'tbreathecoalition which is sub episodes on the Brown Girls Loves Classics platform, where we talk all things Black. My guest include: RIKKI HOWIE LACEWELL DANI HARROW DAYVD H SUBER, Jr SEAN BRIGGS JARREAU WILLIAMS JOSH CLEVELAND, Musical Director/ Composer CHRISTOPHER THOMAS, Poet #blackstoriesmatter
My rant over the fact that Trump decided to have a rally on Juneteenth, and in the middle of Black Wall Street, Tulsa, OK. 1921 Black Wall Street was burned to the ground by white supremacists. Why? Why not because they did and can. #icantbreathecoalition
In 1967, the landmark case of Loving vs. Virginia. The decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that laws banning interracial marriage violate the Equal Protection and Due Process Clauses of the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I got to sit down with my sis, Rose Stephens Greger and we talk about the life in a interracial marriage which both of us are in. We talk about how we fell in love, how we deal with the general public and the best part, tasing our kids who are both only children. If it weren't for the Lovings. I don't think we would have made the progress we have made, but we have a long way to go. Happy Loving Day!
This is a about my love for the group, WAR. This group is a part of my childhood. This is my recap of the, World Is A Ghetto album and how the songs and the instrumentations make up for good music.
I talk about the double standards when it comes to girls and dressing. Who am I distracting ? Its your issue if you are looking and having a problem in how women dress. Why can't we feel beautiful, sexy and special. Women dress for us, not you. So who am I distracting?
