In Clit Lit's inaugural episode, we dive into the book "Attached: The New Science of Adult Attachment and How It Can Help You Find - and Keep Love" by Amir Levine and Rachel S.F. Heller. We break down the different attachment styles (Secure, Anxious, and Avoidant), and then give personal anecdotes of our own Anxious ways and the idiot Avoidants we've encountered in life and love. Next, is "Therapist's Corner," where we bring on our dear friend and almost licensed therapist, Allie Kauffmann, to give pointers on how not to be psychotic. Allie dishes on how to become more Securely attached, and how to deal with partners who aren't there yet. The episode closes with Kelsey's fantastic song all about Attachment. Hosts Kelsey Roshetko and Caroline Hoenemeyer give you a little taste of Clit Lit, a brand new podcast that explores mental illness through the lens of self help books. But really it's mostly us having a therapy sesh together and talking about the last time we were suicidal. Each week we'll break down a self help book with our guest. Sometimes it's a therapist; more often it's a fellow mentally ill comedian. Our fav topics to touch on are: our various mental illnesses (duh), attachment theory, astrological signs, sex and love addiction, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, (really any addiction you can think of!), the people we hook up with, the people we want to hook up with, and Dominos pizza. CLIT LIT PREMIERES TUESDAY APRIL 30th. Subscribe to Clit Lit wherever you get your podcasts, and get ready to reduce the stigma through compulsive oversharing!!!!!!!
