Join us as we re-watch 'Psych' and break it down for you.
HOLY SHIT, there's a new episode! We skipped over the International pilot for now -- that episode ran looooong and required a TON of editing, which is actually the primary reason we haven't had a new episode in a while. This one's "American Duos," one of the episodes that set the tone for the rest of the series. Enjoy! And have fun listening to the outrageously dated references we make, since this was recorded TWO YEARS AGO.
We have come to the end of Season One, and it's time to gear up for what's next -- the International Pilot, and American Duos! In the meantime, listen to us talk about Scary Sherry, The Gooch, and more!
We're back. And this time we have plans. Keep watching this space.
We're back! And it didn't take nearly as long this time! Still not a great period of time. But not nearly as long! More soon.
So...podcasting...that's still a thing that kids do, right? Russ, Shawn, and Jenna talk about the next episode. The next wait won't be so long, we promise.
Jenna, Shawn, and Russ talk about the eleventh episode of Psych's first season, titled "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not, He Loves Me, Oops He's Dead." Yes, Russ knows that he mispronounced Kirsten Nelson's name like 8 times. Russ, Shawn, and Jenna talk "From the Earth to the Starbucks," the tenth episode of Psych's first season! Sorry for the poor sound quality; we were fighting weather on all sides. Russ, Shawn, and Jenna break down “Forget Me Not,” an episode that all of them had…well, more or less forgotten. Still, it’s actually a pretty strong installment, just not one that has a memorable enough hook to hang with their “best-ever” episodes. Psych head to comic con in "Shawn vs. the Red Phantom" and we have Fandom.com editor Lauren Gallaway here to share the experience with us. Russ, Shawn, Jenna, and Lauren are no stranger to big comic book conventions and blend our criticism and analysis of the episode with some expertise about shows, the Batman in-jokes that pervade the episode...and the Arrowverse stars who make appearances here. Yes, that's plural. After way too long (you know that's right!), the Psych team is back, and Psych-Os Russ, Shawn, and Jenna got together to review Psych: The Movie, which JUST FINISHED AIRING. That's right, fans. Not only have we got two more episodes of Delicious Flavor prepped and ready to be released on a weekly basis starting tonight, but we're starting our new, regular schedule with Psych: The Movie, meaning that for the first time we will not be a Psych rewatch podcast but a Psych watch-podcast. Which is not a podcast you can get on your watch. Although I guess smart watches are a thing now, so you probably can. Anway, ENJOY.
It's time for another episode of Delicious Flavor: A Psych Rewatch Podcast. Actually, it is well past time, but I've heard it both ways. Here, Jenna, Russ, and Shawn will talk about the fifth episode of the series, "Nine Lives." You should also check out our new Patreon -- you can find it here, and among other things backers can get a quarterly, exclusive video podcast DELIVERED ON VHS.

Too late for show notes. We're going to wing this sucker and I'll come back to clean it up in the morning. BUT. Around the 29-minute mark, Shawn makes a joke about how topical it feels to have “a Shawn in the bushes,” and we note that by the time the episode actually came out that would likely make no sense to our listeners. Indeed, it is a reference to a well-circulated story about former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer — who no longer works in the government at this point, having lost his job in the 15 weeks between when we recorded this episode and when we published it. The best way to get Psych is to buy a physical copy on Amazon or eBay. I know some Walmarts have a Season 1 & 2 2-pack that they sell for cheap. You can get digital at Vudu, Amazon or iTunes. In this episode, you get to meet Jenna Anderson, who joins Russ Burlingame and Shawn Carpenter.
To celebrate the Psych anniversary -- the pilot first aired 11 years ago today -- we're making a rough draft copy of the first Delicious Flavor podcast, originally scheduled to debut on August 21, available tonight! Check it out, but don't get used to our female lead...like Psych, we traded her out after one episode.
