In Christianity, taking risks is important because it helps build trust with God, and it's a way to show faith in God's grace. Risk activates faith, which is more than just a feeling. It's a way of telling doubt and emotions that you trust God enough to take action. Additionally, Risk is a skill that can be learned, strengthened, and grown. Yet, Risk-taking in faith is not recklessness but a bold confidence that God is faithful, able, and sovereign, even when the path is uncertain. This truth will be vitally important in the coming year of 2025.In this episode of Keep It 100, we have a pivotal conversation with Author, Pastor and International speaker Apostle Joshua Giles on the subjects of Risk-Taking, An emerging generation revival, the coming rise in both turbulence and Spiritual Gifts.Momentum Conference 2025 registration - www.seanandchristasmith.comWebsite: www.seanandchristasmith.comFacebook: @seanandchristasmithministriesInstagram: @revseansmith @mrschristasmithTwitter: @revseansmithYouTube: @seanandchristasmithministries
Increasingly, it seems that corporate philanthropy (and even personal giving) are reactive rather than proactive. Today's episode challenges that notion with an insightful look into the relationship REC Solar's Cary Hayes has formed with Alex Honnold and his Honnold Foundation, which REC has supported for years with both cash and in-kind donations. Why does Cary believe this is a meaningful part of their annual marketing budget? Hear Cary, Alex & Nico discuss why this is an overlooked marketing line item for most companies, and consider for yourself if supporting non-profits should be more prevalent in yours or anyone's annual budget.Alex Honnold is best known for his daring free solo climbs, but his true passion lies in bringing clean energy to the world's most underserved communities. In a compelling conversation with Cary Hayes, President-America's at REC, Honnold shares the origin and evolution of the Honnold Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to solar power. By focusing on grassroots, "shovel-ready" projects, the foundation empowers local organizations to lead transformative initiatives, from cooperative microgrids in Puerto Rico to solar installations in remote African villages. Honnold's journey—from dirtbag climber living in a van to International superstar spearheading a $50 million project pipeline—underscores the importance of starting small and prioritizing tangible impact over perfection.Following the Hayes/Honnold conversation, host Nico Johnson expands on this vision in a 1:1 with Cary reflecting on the solar industry's unique opportunity to amplify its influence through philanthropy. Cary shares insights from REC Solar's collaboration with the Honnold Foundation and explores how partnerships like these align corporate innovation with community resilience. Nico challenges the solar sector to move beyond profit-driven mindsets, arguing for a mission-first approach that redirects resources toward high-impact projects. Together, they discuss the power of storytelling, collaboration, and leadership to inspire a more sustainable and equitable future. It's time to put our shoulders to the plow, align our resources with our mission, and drive meaningful, community-focused change. On the podcast Hyperfixed, host Alex Goldman sets out to solve mysteries and conundrums that listeners submit. But he's found himself having to do some figuring out for himself. Alex finally got diagnosed with ADHD just a few years ago, when he was around 42 years old. Which was a big relief after years of struggling with things like attention and task completion. The problem was that the meds they gave him triggered hypomania followed by big depressive crashes, resulting in a diagnosis of bipolar disorder type II. So now Alex has to manage depression, ADHD, and hypomania. It's tricky.Thank you to all our listeners who support the show as monthly members of Maximum Fun.Check out our I'm Glad You're Here and Depresh Mode merchandise at the brand new merch website MaxFunStore.com!Hey, remember, you're part of Depresh Mode and we want to hear what you want to hear about. Jeannette is joined by Don Welsh, the CEO and President of Destinations International. They explore the evolution of the travel and tourism industry, discussing how Destinations International has expanded from a U.S.-centric organisation to serving over 760 destination organisations in 31 countries. Don shares insights into the challenges of cultural diversity in global business, the importance of collaboration within the tourism ecosystem, and the pressing issues of over-tourism and sustainability. He also reflects on his own career journey, emphasising the value of authenticity, the importance of aligning personal values with professional opportunities, and the necessity of embracing failure as a part of growth. KEY TAKEAWAYS The transition from a U.S.-centric organisation to one that operates in over 31 countries highlights the importance of understanding and adapting to diverse cultural needs and business practices. Building strong relationships within the industry is crucial. Collaborating with other organisations, such as the World Travel and Tourism Council, enhances the ability to address common challenges and share best practices. The need for alignment between destination organisations, local communities, and political leaders is essential for sustainable tourism. Engaging stakeholders in discussions about responsible tourism can help mitigate issues like over-tourism. The journey through various roles in the travel and hospitality industry emphasises the importance of being open to learning and adapting to new challenges, which can lead to personal and professional growth. BEST MOMENTS "The complexity of these jobs have never been greater... how you're going to convene a group of people to deal with maybe over tourism or responsible or sustainable tourism." "I think when you work with different cultures, you have a much higher sense of emotional intelligence because if you want to succeed in different parts of the world, you cannot go in and expect to do business in the way that we do in the U.S." "We believe in the point of collaboration... at the end of the day, our focus is 100% on how the destination can do the best in serving, whether it's a leisure guest, a meeting attendee, or whatever it may be." "It's OK to question yourself. It's OK to say, how did I come across in that meeting? How did I deal with a colleague?" "Let's not reinvent the wheel. Let's learn from each other and grow together." Inauguration Day draws near with the President-elect spending time over the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate meeting with Republican lawmakers, discussing how to move forward with his agenda to cut taxes and secure the border. Republicans in the House are divided on whether to pass one large reconciliation bill, or two separate bills to extend tax cuts and deliver on immigration reform. We kick off this episode with a provocative question that challenges conventional thinking in the bond market. Joined by Tyler from Portfolio Charts, we dissect the strategic positioning of US Treasury bonds versus European options like the Amundi Euro Government Bond Fund. Discover why many international investors gravitate toward US bonds during economic downturns and learn the crucial role of asset correlations in achieving the optimal portfolio diversification.Shifting gears, we tackle a common misconception about large-cap investments: does a company's headquarters dictate its investment potential? In a world where global operations blur geographic lines, we question the necessity of strictly international large-cap growth funds. Dive into the fascinating impact of currency fluctuations on stock performance and explore how these shifts often drive diversification, rather than the mere presence of international stocks. Earlier this week, President Joe Biden signed an executive order banning offshore drilling in 625 million acres of ocean, which includes the entire east coast of the United States and parts of the Gulf of Mexico. The President stated that this action aims to protect coastal communities and marine ecosystems. This will prove to be a headache for President-elect Donald Trump, who campaigned on a "drill baby, drill" energy agenda and was planning to increase oil and gas production in the U.S., Senior Energy Market Analyst at the Price Futures Group and FOX News Contributor Phil Flynn joins the discussion to discuss the executive order's implications. Flynn explained the amount of oil off our coasts, the importance of America being energy independent, and how the U.S. is the safest and cleanest when drilling offshore. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. With just over a week remaining until President-elect Trump returns to the White House, his administration faces a daunting array of foreign policy challenges on multiple fronts. While headlines have focused on bold moves like reclaiming the Panama Canal and seeking control over Greenland from Denmark, the looming threats from adversaries like Russia, China, and Iran are more acute than when President-elect Trump first took office in 2017. General Jack Keane, a retired four-star General, Chairman of the Institute for the Study of War, and Fox News Senior Strategic Analyst, assesses global affairs and offers insights into how the incoming president and his national security team can confront these challenges. Democrats started 2025 losing the presidency, and Republicans currently hold a supermajority, controlling both the House and the Senate. So, as the year begins and inauguration day comes up quickly, Democrats are left questioning what went wrong. Next month, the Democratic National Committee will elect a new chairman to replace outgoing party boss Jamie Harrison. FOX News Digital Reporter Paul Steinhauser describes what the future looks like for the party and shares who the top contenders for the position are. Learn more about your ad choices. Donald Trump may not be back in the White House yet, and he's already causing ructions overseas. Not just threatening to invade and annex allies, like Greenland, Panama, and Canada, but also allowing his unelected wingman, Elon Musk—using his X platform—to troll world leaders and interfere in democracies abroad. Christiane speaks with tech journalist Kara Swisher and the director of the British Future think tank, Sunder Katwala, about what's driving Musk's freelancing in international politics and how dangerous his influence on Trump is. She also gets into the specifics of the two decades old grooming scandal and why Musk's accusations against Keir Starmer are wrong. With wildfires raging in California, President Biden's outgoing DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas joined Christiane to talk about the extreme weather emergency, Trump's promise of mass deportations, and how the terror attack on New Years Day has been politicized. And, A new film by Oscar-winner Errol Morris, "Separated," based on Jacob Soboroff's bestselling book, examines the lasting trauma of family separation under Trump's “zero tolerance” policy during his first term. Christiane sits down with Morris and Soboroff to talk about about their film, the human cost and the chilling possibility of history repeating itself. And as President Jimmy Carter is laid to rest, Christiane revisits their 2007 interview, which explores the late president's reflections on faith and his complicated history with Israel. President-elect Trump returned to Capitol Hill this week, paying his respects at former President Jimmy Carter's funeral on Thursday and meeting with Senate Republicans to ensure they're on the same page about how best to pass the President-elect's agenda. Meanwhile, Americans have watched in shock as wildfires rage across Southern California — causing the destruction of more than 10,000 structures and forcing over 180,000 residents to leave their homes. FOX News Senior Congressional Correspondent Chad Pergram breaks down the week, from what's happening on Capitol Hill to what aid California may receive following these horrific events. President Biden is wrapping up his final weeks in office with some big moves, including banning drilling on millions of acres along U.S. coasts, releasing prisoners from Guantanamo Bay, and blocking a Japanese company from merging with US Steel. Former State Department Spokeswoman for the Obama Administration Marie Harf discusses how President Biden's final actions in office will impact how people remember his legacy. Later, former Republican House Intelligence Chairman Jason Chaffetz explains how these final days for President Biden could open up more problems for President-elect Trump. Is President-elect Donald Trump serious about making Canada America's 51st state? Canadians aren't on board with that idea, but could even raising the issue open the door to significant changes in our relationship with our neighbors to the north? Earlier this week, Shark Tank star and Canadian-born Businessman Kevin O'Leary talked about the pressure Trump has been putting on Canada. Unlike many of his countrymen, ‘Mr. Wonderful' is enticed by Trump's talk of having his birth nation become part of the US and explains why he'd like to see significant changes to America and Canada's agreements when it comes to immigration, currency, and commerce, O'Leary also weighed in on his desire to help purchase TikTok —and how he and some investors wrote to the Supreme Court as the social media platform's owners went to the high court Friday to block a ban on the app that could be imposed on January 19th if they do not cut ties with China. We often must cut interviews short during the week, but we thought you might like to hear the full interview. Today on Fox News Rundown Extra, we will share our entire interview with Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary, allowing you to hear more of his unique takes on Canada, TikTok, and the incoming Trump administration, Learn more about your ad choices.
