Clean energy isn't just good for the planet. It's good for your wallet. Solar and wind are now the cheapest power sources in history. Spring is a good reminder of what we stand to lose… and what we're fighting to protect. The science is clear. Human activity is driving climate change. Record heat. Rising seas. Disappearing seasons. And yet too many politicians would rather protect billionaire energy interests than help working families lower their bills. Real change starts when we stop letting the ultra - rich write our energy policy. Support clean energy. Reduce your waste. Talk to your elected leaders. I'm not inclined to listen to Celtic music at home.  I'm more likely to go to a live show, or even hire the band to play a house concert. I'm running the Celtic series at the Old Brogue in Great Falls now... I adopted that baby from IONA this past Fall.  Hopefully I can beg your help promoting the shows?  We need all the help we can get. : - ). I'm so very green at promoting shows, and now I'm running two concert serieses... serii?  Like you, I'm all about keeping this music alive and vibrant, and building an audience for my brilliant colleagues. All the best," Metta RavenHeart messaged on Patreon about show #748: "Here here and there there.  Your authenticity far outweighs any difference of opinion. Please continue to march for freedom.  Here in New Mexico we know what it is like to stand up against tyranny and racism, and you inspire us to continue." Alexander Randall 5th emailed: "Whether you make better patter or not, I will listen to you until I die. I mentioned the Galacian Celtic music. I am so intrigued by this sound. Some of it is like obvious jigs and reels and marches, but it also sounds like Flamenco some of the time and sometimes muslim  creep in.  It is very "spanish" and yet not.   And when the bagpipes come in, you think you are in Ireland... Here are four that you will find interesting. This one is by the kind of national Galacian folk arts concert.  It opens with an almost middle eastern sound, the the voices com in singing in Spanish and then the bagpipes hit and it turns into a celtic party... in spain!   This one opens with cricket and turns into a dance. This one is a jig.  It says so in the title but then it turns into something else  -   -  The Muneira is like the Galacian national dance... It could be scots... What country did this dance come from? You pick up all kinds of odd ideas.  Fiddle around with this Galician celtic music…"

The HITO boys dive into the failed peace talks between the US and Iran headed by JD Vance. Trump responded to the failure by announcing a US blockade of the already blocked Strait of Hormuz. It seems Trump is willing to subject the American people to maximum suffering, whether it be higher gas prices or more new tariffs — there's nothing he won't do to make things more expensive for no reason. No matter which way you slice it, it seems like the world will be a worse place because of the US and Israel's unprovoked and unpopular war. Israel is also fighting a separate war in Lebanon and despite calls for ongoing negotiations, neither war seems to have an end in sight. Early access on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/headintheofficepodSubstack: https://headintheoffice.substack.com/HITO Merch: https://headintheoffice.com/ Get 40% off Ground News: https://ground.news/checkout/all?fpr=headintheoffice YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4iJ-UcnRxYnaYsX_SNjFJQSubscribe to second channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3UoTN328OA7fK2dzicP-ZATikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@headintheoffice?lang=enInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/headintheoffice/Twitter: https://twitter.com/headintheofficeThreads: https://www.threads.com/@headintheofficeDiscord: https://discord.gg/hito Collab inquiries: headintheofficepod@gmail.com(0:00) JD Vance did NOT bring peace to the Middle East(12:30) Intro/reviews(22:20) JD Vance got nothing from Iran(36:55) Trump blockading a blockade(55:20) Israel wants continued war(59:20) JStreet changes its stances(1:12:35) Eric Swalwell drops out(1:15:05) Ending/reviewsSeen on this episode:Iran negotiations fall apart - https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/12/us/politics/vance-iran-talks.htmlhttps://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/12/trump-iran-war-strait-of-hormuz.htmlhttps://thehill.com/policy/international/5827704-us-iran-strait-hormuz-mines/https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/11/us/politics/us-navy-warships-strait-of-hormuz-iran-mines.htmlhttps://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/10/us/politics/iran-mines-strait.html#:~:text=Strait%20of%20Hormuz-,Iran%20Unable%20to%20Find%20Mines%20It%20Planted%20in%20Strait%20of,their%20war%20against%20the%20country

This episode of Across The Margin : The Podcast features an interview with renowned pianist and composer Kimball Gallagher. Gallagher's journey as a pianist has carried him far beyond the traditional concert hall. A Boston-raised musician trained at Juilliard, he began questioning the narrow path often available to concert pianists early in his career. That curiosity led him to launch an ambitious 88-concert tour across seven continents, funded by 88 supporters who each sponsored one key of the piano. These intimate, community-hosted performances brought classical music out of formal halls and into living rooms, cultural centers, and gathering spaces worldwide. Along the way he encountered communities where music served as a tool for leadership, inspiring him to found 88 International, a nonprofit that now runs youth-led music initiatives in Tunisia, Morocco, Senegal, The Gambia, Myanmar, and Taiwan. Its flagship program, Tunisia88, established student-led music clubs in all 592 public high schools in Tunisia, giving students space to write songs, organize concerts, and lead creative projects in their communities. Just weeks ago, that work came to life in the U.S. as the Tunisia88 Alumni Choir completed its first U.S. tour — a two-week East Coast journey where young musicians performed original songs, collaborated with university choirs, and shared how a post-revolution experiment in student voice grew into a global youth movement. The U.S. blockade of Iranian ports in the Strait of Hormuz is aimed at squeezing Iran's economy by millions in daily oil imports and exports. As the blockade continues, the State Department hosted the first round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon as senior Hezbollah officials announced they will not abide by any agreements made in the negotiations. Meanwhile, Pakistan has proposed hosting a second round of U.S.-Iran talks in Islamabad this week, just ahead of the current ceasefire expiring. FOX's John Saucier speaks with Behnam Ben Taleblu, Senior Fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies and Senior Director of FDD's Iran program, who says the actions taken in the Strait have been a possible bargaining tool against Tehran for a while, but only now has been a real option. A U.S. naval blockade is now in effect in the Strait of Hormuz after Vice President JD Vance's negotiations with Iran ended in a stalemate. Covid hit everybody, either personally or as members of society, and our mental health was damaged. It was trauma and it largely hasn't been processed. When Joshua Roman became the principal cellist at the prestigious Seattle Symphony at age 22, it wasn't really a surprise. As he explains, he had been training since the age of 3, desperate to get better, intent on overtaking Yo-Yo Ma and Pablo Casals. He didn't just run for fun, he targeted a sub-six minute mile. After Seattle, Joshua was a world traveling soloist with no fixed address and yet more striving. Then the pandemic hit and his covid became long covid, taking his energy and, often, his ability to even read a sentence much less sheet music. Joshua tells us about the life change that occurred as a result, his careful parceling out of his remaining energy, and the more focused and content he lives after the brick wall collision.

While the Trump administration emphasizes a swift four-to-six-week operation to end the conflict with Iran, questions remain regarding how a president elected on a "no new wars" platform reconciles campaign promises with the realities of international conflicts. The White House remains committed to its bold messaging strategy to bring adversaries to the table, aiming to wrap up the mission in just over a month to avoid the pitfalls of past long-term conflicts. Tevi Troy, a presidential historian and Senior Fellow at the Ronald Reagan Institute, joins the Rundown to discuss the evolution of the wartime commander-in-chief, the strategic use of non-diplomatic language, and how President Trump's negotiating style compares to his predecessors.CEO of LexisNexis Risk Solutions, Haywood Talcove, joins to explain the reports of waste and abuse that he says are costing taxpayers an eye-opening amount every year—driven largely by foreign criminal networks.
