POPULARITY

This week we continue our series I Know You Know with a review of Psych The Movie. The first of three movies that came out of the success of USA Network's hit show Psych! Psych: The Movie is lively and lightweight, buoyed by Roday and Hill's bond, which hasn't diminished at all in the last three years. Its structure is classic Psych, with mystery assailants, a break-in or two, a little self-reflection, and rapid-fire pop culture references to make up for their absence. Roday has called the movie a “love letter” to the fans, and it is definitely an enjoyable continuation of the original series. Virtually all the main and recurring players, including Timothy Omundson, who's recovering from a stroke, are worked into the story, which centers on Juliet (Maggie Lawson). The San Francisco cop has been targeted by the Thin White Duke (Zachary Levi) and his goons, including WWE star Charlotte Flair. The antagonists threaten to spoil not just Christmas, but possibly even Shawn and Juliet's engagement, which remains jewelry-free. He devised the story for the 1999 comedy Big Daddy and wrote the screenplay with Tim Herlihy and Adam Sandler. It went on to be the seventh highest-grossing film of 1999, and was Sandler's highest-grosser domestically until Hotel Transylvania 2 (2015).[2] Franks created Psych, about a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara Police Department whose "heightened observational skills"[3] and impressive eidetic memory allow him to convince people that he solves cases with psychic abilities. Psych debuted on Friday, July 7, 2006. He also created the band The Friendly Indians, which recorded the show's theme song. He wrote several episodes of the series, and also directed many. Franks co-wrote and directed Psych: The Movie, a two-hour USA Network TV movie, which aired on December 7, 2017. On February 14, 2019, it was announced Psych: The Movie 2 was greenlit and all the main cast would return for the TV movie.[4] Franks also served as an executive producer and the showrunner on the CBS series Rush Hour, which was cancelled in May 2016.

Welcome to the Mid Week in Review (MWIR) broadcast as engineered by the mighty Afronerd Radio steam engine and airing this Wednesday at 7pm eastern. The topics to be discussed are: undoubtedly, leftovers from our last Grindhouse show; complaints of racism are coming in about the Blackluster character seen in the latest episodes of the wildly popular One Punch Man anime series but is this black caricarture just the tip of the iceberg in Japanese animation?; oh and just when the trailer for a OPM video game hits the webs; the cryptic "4" that was displayed in webbing on Marvel's twitter page and the subsequent theories and eventual letdown that a Spiderman 4 with Tobey Maguire was not getting made, does that still rule out a live action Into The Spiderverse starring all of the original Spidermen?; USA Network announces Psych: The Movie 2 for the forthcoming holiday season; the Notorious BIG's "one room shack" he referenced in his hit "Juicy" is now a 4K a month tony Brooklyn apartment; And lastly, Commodore 64 returns as a retro console for December '19. Call LIVE at 646-915-9620.

In this, my 20th episode, I enjoy a first-season episode of the "Battlestar Galactica" reboot. My classic collection features John Waters' "Female Trouble," "Casino Royale" (1967), episodes from "Eli Stone," "Lost," "Monk," and the edited-for-CBS version of "Dexter," plus episodes of "Torchwood" and "Doctor Who." My current collection features episodes of "@Midnight," "Claws," "Preacher" and a random episode of "Modern Family." In What I've Been Watching, I clear a lot of movies out of my DVR including "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," "The Fantastic Four," "Thor: The Dark World," "Interstellar," "Zero Dark Thirty," "The Martian," "Batman: Dark Knight Rises" and "Psych: The Movie," which was AWESOME! I've also been watching episodes from "Supernatural," "The X Files," "Happy!" and "The Alienist." Also, every 10 episodes I give a project overview and progress report. This time: How did this whole thing start, and what the heck is a "VideoFuzzy"? Enjoy!

We’re heading into the end of the calendar year, and with The 2017 List-ening looming, it’s the perfect time to revisit one of the year’s most fascinating and puzzling entries, the return of Twin Peaks. Joining Kate to break down the alternately confusing and compelling season is friend of the show Emily L. Stephens of The A.V. Club. Before we dive into the strange world of Frost and Lynch, however, there’s a very full week of TV to discuss.First Noel and Kate look at the comedies, including the holiday returns of Psych and Superstore, the finale of Broad City, and the epic 99th episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. After a brief dip into reality to discuss the premiere of Top Chef, it’s time for the week’s genre episodes. Noel only lasted about 10 minutes into the Happy! premiere, and we chat about why. Then there’s the premiere of Agents of SHIELD, a dramatic return on Outlander, and the fall finales of Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, and Arrow. Which series are getting their silliness quotient right and which could stand to be a bit less precious? Which returns have us the most jazzed, and which show doesn’t seem to realize it’s retreading ground powerfully trod earlier this year in cinemas? Take a listen, then reach out with your thoughts on the week’s TV.Season Spotlight: Twin Peaks Season 3 with Emily L.
