Ben Bayder participated in the Business in Germany Travel Seminar in mid-May and then headed to the Netherlands to work with the Director of Business Development at Philips Design division for his summer internship. He worked on a market-entry plan for a new product, making a final presentation to Philips’ top level executives.
Pat Doran took advantage of 2 Global Travel Seminars: Business in Brazil last January; and The London Financial Markets in March. “I gained amazing experience in Coca Cola’s commercial finance division in Shanghai this summer. The insights in to doing business in China were incredible and I loved the challenge of the cultural immersion.”
Megan Graceffo learned about Business in Brazil first-hand in January’s Global Travel to Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In the international marketing concentration, she spent the summer in Singapore at BMC Software, the world’s 9th largest software company doing a project on brand management. “I learned so much and had the opportunity to travel to so many parts of Asia!”
Ashwini Poojary interned with UniFirst, a publicly traded company and one of North America’s largest work wear and textile services companies, with sites in the U.S., Canada and Europe. She did substantial marketing research, working directly with UniFirst’s Communciations Supervisor. As a result of her marketing research with the company, Ashwini distinguished herself by writing a white paper that is about to be published.
Berfun Tosun enjoyed the Business in Germany travel seminar, especially the live case study and presenting in front of the executives at BMW. She added tremendous value to the company as her findings affected immediate changes in restaurant menus and customer tracking. Berfun’s hard work paid off and her position was extended into her final semester in the GMBA.
Rodrigo Vidal-MacKay interned at Dresser-Rand he focused on the Energy and Environmental Sector in South America. His internship project involved extensive market research and ultimately the completion of a market entry feasibility report. “My final presentation to the regional executives was very exciting for me.” He accepted a part-time position for the fall semester as he finishes his degree and will begin full-time in January. “It is a dream come true!”
