Yola is a Grammy-nominated English musician and singer-songwriter who released her first full length studio album "Walk Through Fire" on Dan Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound label in February 2019. Yola previously released an EP, "Orphan Offering," in 2016; and prior to her solo work sang back-up for artists like Massive Attack, Iggy Azalea, and The Chemical Brothers. She became a main stage fixture at Newport Folk Festival in 2019 and since has toured her album continuously. In January of 2020, the Howdy Records ladies attended Yola's performance at the Historic Scoot Inn. The Black Keys, a Grammy-award winning American rock band led by Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney, formed independently in Akron, Ohio in 2001. Dan, the lead guitarist and vocalist, and the drummer, Patrick, have produced 9 studio albums together, the latest "Let's Rock" released in 2019. The band took a 5 year hiatus before the release of their most recent album, which they then began touring in 2019 hitting most major American cities, including Austin, Texas. In November of 2019, the Howdy Records ladies attended The Black Keys concert at Frank Erwin Center with their friend Melanie and her mom Cindy. Austin City Limits Festival is a music festival in Austin, Texas that dates back to 2002, and originally inspired by the KLRU/PBS music series of the same name. A local favorite, but also a destination festival for many around the world, the ladies of Howdy Records have been attending for years.
