Kalamazoo noise rock duo Bronson Arm — Blake Bickel (baritone guitar/vocals) and Garrett Yates (drums) — stop by the studio in Appleton, Wisconsin for a wide-ranging conversation on Fox Cities Core, the weekly live interview show on WCZR Code Zero Radio, hosted by Andy McNamara. The band is on the road supporting their latest album Casket Schwagg (Learning Curve Records).In this interview, Blake and Garrett break down how two guys from opposite coasts ended up forming a powerhouse two-piece in Kalamazoo — meeting through their kids' school and a chance conversation at a brewery. Cleveland is known as the birthplace of rock and roll, as in the 1950s DJ Alan Freed coined the phrase. The city is stands at the center of iconic rock moments, from The Beatles' first concert in 1964 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium, to David Bowie's 1972 Ziggy Stardust U.S. debut. The region is home to rockers like The James Gang, Devo, The Black Keys, Nine Inch Nails, and more. But with all that history, the live music ecosystem continues to face challenges. Rising costs for artists, venues, and consumers have stretched budgets across the board. Reporting from last show shows that only 25% of independent music venues were able to turn a profit. Verslag van een exotisch festival is voor Osmium - de zwaarste podcast in het Nederlands - bijna net zo'n vaste prik als afleveringen over jaarlijstjes en publieksprijzen. Na een betonnen safari in Manchester, parkeren tussen de beren in Roemenië en gastronomische verzetjes in Kortrijk, wordt reikhalzend uitgekeken naar de bestemming van de Osmium metalvakantie van 2026. Die hoge verwachtingen rusten dermate zwaar op de schouders van babbelaars Niels en Pim dat ze de handdoek maar in de ring gooien en besluiten thuis te blijven. Nu de bestemming dus Indoornesië en Tuinzania blijkt te zijn, wordt gezocht naar manieren om de festivalweide de huiskamer in te halen. De redding komt in de vorm van de liveplaat, wellicht het minst besproken muzikale format in Osmium. Het blijkt echter een rijke voedingsbodem voor interessante discussies. Is het de ultieme meetlat waarlangs bands gekeurd dienen te worden of is het juist het zwarte gat van een discografie? Hoe belangrijk is bijbehorend beeld, merkbaar publiek en degelijke opnamekwaliteit? Hoe rekbaar is het begrip anno 2026 wanneer liveregistraties ook verschijnen in de vorm van studio-opname, livestream of telefoonvideo met bonusvinger voor de lens? Daarmee verschuift de vraag van waar Osmium dit jaar naartoe gaat naar wat er overblijft als je een concert van zijn plek, publiek en moment losweekt. Rising costs for artists, venues, and consumers have stretched budgets across the board. It's been 37 some odd years since moe. first started coming together at the University of Buffalo. Since then they've released 14 albums. They've played on some huge stages, playing Woodstock '99, rocking out Bonnaroo throughout the 2000's. Inviting bands like The Avett Brothers, The Black Keys, Bruce Hornsby, Method Man and Redman and so many others to their moe.down festival. And this year they're firing moe.down back up. Before moe. starts off on their Born to Fly tour (they'll be in Ponte Vedra on 3/26) their lead singer Rob Derhak was nice enough to stop by the show! Sharon also talked about the first time she and Ozzy met, when they fell in love, how she will never want to get married again, how if she didn't have kids she would have killed herself when he died, and the thing she misses most is holding his hand.On a lighter note, she also talked about how she wanted to get back at Roger Waters for the negative things he said about Ozzy after he died. And that was by sending him a Tiffany box filled with feces, which she used to do to critics who wrote negative reviews about Ozzy's shows without being there. When she did, it was her infant son Jack's poop that would be used.She ultimately decided against it, saying, “Even that is a waste, to send [crap] to him. It's a waste because he's really insignificant. But I just thought, anybody that passes has a family… you don't do that.” (Sharon's not the first musician's wife to do that. Paul and Linda McCartney sent some of their daughter Stella's poop to a journalist who earned their trust, then betrayed them.)Going forward, Sharon says she's continuing to work on an Ozzy bio-pic and that she knows who she wants to play him. The scenes in the real world, outside Neverland, are set at Christmas. 12. "Iron Man 3" (2013). The whole movie plays out around Christmas.13. "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993).
