It's called a new interpretation of Vampire films. While that is very misleading, The Transfiguration is a fantastic film in viewing and lessons. It does involve the topic of vampires, but it is a deep exploration of a troubled young man. The lessons are high-end. The technical aspects are spot-on at each level. The performances were great, but there is little dialogue. The true mastery is the writing and direction, where we see how to effectively bring a low-dialogue story to an audience. Also, we discuss our upcoming guesting on Talking Pondo, with our friends Cliff and Marty. This will air on 8/31. When you're done here give them a listen. Support the Podcast Visit our website

Five Halloween horror stories unleash headless folklore, haunted drive-ins, supernatural transformation, vampires, and body horror in a nearly five-hour scary-story audiobook from Weekly Spooky. Halloween Changes You is a long-form Halloween horror compilation about masks that become identities, second lives that demand a price, and monsters who discover that becoming something new may be easier than becoming human again. Presented in story order, this Halloween fiction anthology moves from an intimate chase through the woods to an afterlife movie marathon, a funeral-home reckoning, a mutant spider origin, and a full-scale vampire battle over love, family, and survival. Inside this Halloween horror compilation: • “Dullahan” by Morgan Moore — On Halloween night, new kid Isaiah Crane takes a shortcut through the woods on his way to a costume party. A black horse, a headless rider, and a forgotten witch-trial museum turn a simple bike ride into a desperate fight to keep his head. • “Retro Halloween Weekend” by Rob Fields — Destiny Mirren and Sienna Michaels sneak into the wrong Strickfield drive-in with robbery on their minds. The vintage horror marathon soon becomes an afterlife judgment, and Death has a pair of unexpected job openings. • “Retro Halloween Revelations” by Rob Fields — The old drive-in ground has become a funeral home, and Destiny—now living under a new name and a far darker calling—must face the family that helped shape her. One Halloween confession will decide who receives mercy and who takes the final journey. • “New Life” by Rob Fields — After surviving a blood-soaked Thanksgiving, Felicia Mirren discovers that an experimental resurrection compound and her pet tarantula have changed her forever. By Halloween, she is caught between undead attacks, a secret society, and a monstrous new body that may make her Strickfield's strangest protector. • “Madelyne's Revenge” by Rob Fields — Felicia has built a new family and a new life, but a vampire from another world has returned to destroy both. What follows is a Halloween battle of spider powers, vampirism, dark magic, grief, and the kind of revenge that refuses to stay buried. From Dullahan and headless-rider folklore to haunted drive-in horror, supernatural afterlife stories, vampire revenge, spider monsters, and full-body transformation, this collection is built for listeners searching for scary Halloween stories, horror fiction anthologies, dark fantasy audiobooks, folklore horror, body horror, and long-form spooky-season listening. Follow Weekly Spooky on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, iHeartRadio, or your favorite podcast app, and return every Wednesday for a brand-new scary story. Keep the Halloween season going with more frightening fiction, monsters, ghosts, and nightmares from the Weekly Spooky horror podcast.

Before Robert Neville, vampires wore capes, slept in coffins, and hypnotized you from across a candlelit room. Richard Matheson looked at all that gothic nonsense and said "nah" — and gave us a vampire epidemic caused by bacteria instead of curses. Send us Fan MailEpisode 279 of the Hey You Guys Podcast is here, and this week, Liam and Rob look back at John Carpenter's Vampires. It might well be Carpenter's last financially successful movie, but is it Carpenter's last genuinely good movie? The reviews were somewhat lukewarm at the time, and comparisons with Dusk Till Dawn and Near Dark did it no favours, but time has been surprisingly kind to this coarse, dirty and highly entertaining horror western. Listen in via your podcast platform choice to see if this 90s genre classic is worthy of reappraisal and if it does indeed belong higher up on the list of Carpenter classics.

This week, we’re taking a summer rewind as Tommy revisits a fan-favorite episode with Malachi Barton of Camp Rock 3, Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires, Stuck in the Middle, and more. This is a deep, introspective side of Malachi like you’ve never heard before. Today, he opens up about adjusting to living a very public life and the attention that comes along with that, what his relationship is like with social media, how Zombies 4 changed his life, how Zombies 4 made him realize how much he loves singing and dancing, if he ever wants to be on Dancing with the Stars, the message of Zombies 4 that he personally related to the most, the powerful advice that Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly gave him that he’ll never forget, what that Zombies group chat is really like, what all those different Zombies alternate endings are, if he was ever supposed to play Red’s brother in the Descendants franchise (a big online rumor answered), what his future dream projects are, his biggest celebrity crush (ahem Outer Banks), how he has handled his journey with anxiety, and so much more. The Duskbloods finally had its network test - and Ed has spent the weekend finding out exactly what FromSoftware's strange new Switch 2 exclusive actually is. Part Bloodborne, part Nightreign, part PvP game... and somehow part Mario Party. Ed breaks down how The Duskbloods works, why its combat and performance left him disappointed. Ben has started Kingdom Hearts for the first time, fallen even more in love with Splatoon Raiders, and Ed has some controversial thoughts about both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XIII-2. Plus, we answer your question of the week about the games you deliberately stopped playing and look ahead to Gamescom Opening Night Live, including The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, Tides of Annihilation, Warlock, Fable and more. And, most importantly, we investigate whether a vampire chicken can actually suck blood. Send us Fan MailOnce upon a time, people blamed tuberculosis on vampires.Seriously.In this Public Health Is Weird episode, we head to 1892 Rhode Island, where the deaths of several members of one family led to an exhumation, a suspected vampire, and a truly horrifying attempt at a cure. The real culprit was tuberculosis. We explore the strange connection between TB and vampire folklore, the discovery and treatment of tuberculosis, a messy Nobel Prize controversy, and a bigger question: Why do humans reach for supernatural explanations when something frightening happens that we can't explain? Vampires, tuberculosis, human psychology, and somehow, Dr. Eeks' great grandfather and groundhog grease.Welcome to Public Health Is Weird. Angels & Demons or Thor? Interview with the Vampire or The Rock? What happens when some of our favourite films fall just short of the standards required to qualify for a regular Best Film Ever review? To be eligible for the BFE, a film needs to score either 85% or higher on Rotten Tomatoes OR 8.0 or higher on IMDb — which leaves an awful lot of beloved, ridiculous, divisive and occasionally brilliant movies stranded on the outside looking in. So this week, we're giving the rejects their moment. Joined by some of our Friends of the Podcast — Synthia, Paul Komoroski, Ariannah, Shai Bergerfroind and Hermes Auslander — we've assembled a field of the best films officially ineligible for review by the BFE and thrown them into a winner-takes-all knockout tournament. Expect films we can't believe aren't eligible, films whose scores suddenly make perfect sense, brutal head-to-head choices, questionable taste, furious campaigning and at least one result that will have somebody demanding an immediate change to the BFE constitution. They may never qualify for a proper episode — but one of them is about to be crowned The Best Film Ineligible for Review by the BFE.

Mary Shelley didn't just create Frankenstein - she helped invent modern science fiction while forever changing the landscape of horror. This episode, we explore her remarkable life: her radical parents, scandalous romance with Percy Shelley, the personal tragedies that shaped her, and the stormy night that gave birth to one of literature's greatest monsters. Along the way, we'll also trace how a novel written by an eighteen-year-old became one of the most influential stories ever told, inspiring centuries of debate about science, humanity, and what it truly means to be a creator.
