Thanks for listening to H&S Ranch Radio where Texas is home and home is good
In the fourth episode of our Summer trilogy, we dive into the wonderful world of watermelons. Seeds or no seeds, GMO or garden-grown, sliced or whole, watermelons are a refreshing, healthy and fun way to stay hydrated. Watermelons are 17% more hydrating than most things, and our brain-to-rind ratios match up when examined closely. You can bet that when this super fruit is around, you are certain to go "from rinds to riches!" Indeed, they are the spitting image of good taste.
In the third episode of our Summer trilogy, we dive into the wonderful world of boardwalk food. Popcorn, custard, fries, ice cream -- no topic is off the table. Plus, our special guests Josh and Mallory tell us their favorite things to do at the beach. Then it's off to the rides. The calliope on the carousel sounds lovely, but the haunted house is spooky.
Buckle up for a wild ride we call the fast-paced history of the tomato.
WARNING: We are posting this ONE DAY before Summer begins. If you live in the Northern HEMISPHERE and you DON'T listen BEFORE June 21, 2018, certain ELEMENTS of this PODCAST will be IRRELEVANT, so SUBSCRIBE STREAM or DOWNLOAD and listen NOW PRO TIP: Seasons change but good radio stays the same
You know the drill, so what are you waiting for? On tonight's edutaining episode: Texas Independence Day, the Hemisfair, Colonial American history, relaxation techniques, persimmons, fish, butter, and more. Here at the Ranch, we believe that radio is a dish best served cold, with a little side of hope and a lot of fish. Enjoy! We're back to feed your RSSS (the extra S stands for Subscribe). I told myself I'd never use parentheses again, but here I am, using parentheses, my least favorite punctuation marks. If I could turn back time, I'd rewrite that first sentence to read: We're back to feed your RSSSS -- the extra S stands for Subscribe (and don't ask about what the other one stands for). Anyway, curved fluke or crocus...curved fluke or crocus...what in the world could that phrase possibly mean? Tune in and find out the answer, and so much more! Like the history of pre-Bezos Whole Foods, what year it is, what RSS with NO extra S's means, the evolution of the word icebox, how to eat an apple, what Nicki's favorite pinball game is, popular nicknames for San Antonio, and just who that guy is rooting around in the vacuum hoses after-hours at the car wash. Plus you'll get some good laundry tips on how to get the sour milk smell out of your pants. Come on in! http://www.hideandseekranch.com
Situated in-between this New Years and that New Years is H&S Ranch Radio, here again with more evergreen, everclean-and-clear topics. Tune in and learn about Southwest Airlines, Blockchain, the history of New Year Resolutions, Harry Nilsson, Constantino Ribalaigua, the key to success, this week's bestseller, simple math, and plenty more (well, not that much more, but a little bit more). If the podcast is the concept album of the 21st Century, then you've just joined the future.
Do you like riddles? Have you ever wondered how many rooms to include in your brand new hotel? Or what do with those Thanksgiving leftovers you STILL haven't finished? Or if a brain can grow hair? Or if Nicki and Rick can actually whistle? And just what is diminished reality? Want to know more about the Texas Red Ash? Or what Burnet peppers taste like? How about what sort of things musician Zack Kouns demands in his Tour Rider? And what is a field recording? Where is this field?
Come on in, hang your hat, take off your boots, and welcome to the H&S Ranch. Today on Ranch Radio we're talking pin cushions, Anaheim peppers, pecan trees, and Texas Instruments. Plus, we debut our science-fiction saga "Timeskimmers" and we ask YOU to guess what in the world is going on in our sound collage of field recordings.
Join Nick and Rick for a happy thirty hour of good company and good times. On this episode--the first since our reboot--Nick and Rick discuss the origins of "fixin' to," HDTV, the Chess Queen, the World's Largest Outhouse, pineapple upside-down cake, and more. Welcome to the Ranch!
