A collection of the interviews found on my weekly radio show on WCWM.
I spoke with Southern California Latin trans avant-folk/post-punk artist Cime about her upcoming album 'Laurels of the End of History,' which is out on streaming on August 18th. It's her follow-up to last year's 'The Independence of Central American Remains an Ongoing Experiment,' which we spoke about last spring. 'Laurels' builds on the freak-folk and nueva canción latinoamericana roots established in her debut while adding elements of noise rock and post-hardcore.
Kicking off Season 4 of I Hate Music strong by interviewing my friend Morgan for the fourth time - this time about her project aa & tyr! Earlier this year, she released 'Echo Sun All Bliss,' a maximalist, sprawling psychedelic/glitch pop/post rock/who knows what else project telling the stories of two futuristic archivists searching for identity in a world dominated by information (I'm not doing the narrative justice, go listen to the album). Tune in to hear us talk about “chain-smoking albums,” the significance of the last word in Beowulf, and why she retired the space cadet moniker. Echo Sun All Bliss is out now on all streaming services and available for purchase on Bandcamp.
I spoke with DIY recording artist Cime about their upcoming album "The Independence of Central America Remains an Unfinished Experiment." We discussed the Sandinistas, Guillermo Anderson, Francisco Morazan, ocarinas, and much more!
I spoke with Williamsburg/Richmond-based singer/songwriter David Lefkowitz live on air! We discussed last weekend's WCWM Fest, David's roots as a songwriter and live performer, the art of (accidentally) blowing up on TikTok, and HORSEBOYS.
kø and i talk about internet collaboration, the importance (or lack of it) of genre labels like 'hyperpop', and what live performance means to them. also we introduce a speed round for the very first time!! technical difficulties (or, me not paying attention) caused the music to keep playing at the beginning of the interview. whoops. maybe it adds something idk
Charlie Hall, drummer of the Grammy-winning band The War on Drugs joins me to talk about William & Mary memories from the 90s, favorite cities to visit on tour, and a lot more.
I interviewed my friend Skyler about everything from favorite live performances to TikTok fame and the delicate balance between being a student and a 'content creator,' whatever that is. Be sure to check out her EP 'The Half of It' on streaming services everywhere!

i interviewed jacob and todd from kevin & the bikes about the importance of the ampersand, post-irony, and the struggles of recording for virtual festivals. plus todd fell out of his chair! we also talked about their latest album "ironic songs," and much more.
I spoke with Andrew Katz and Will Toledo about their newest album, "1 Trait Bangers"! We also discussed comedic influences, Lombardi's World, and why Melbourne, Australia is the best place to record 1TD songs.

I spoke with my friend Marcus Conley about his two new albums, his podcast, the brand of OLOGY, and his vision for the future.
