We’re joined in our latest episode by two superb guests with very different stories to tell. First up is long-term European Tour caddie Brendan McCartain, who was on the bag when Jose Maria Olazabal won the Masters in 1999. Brendan was also alongside the Spaniard in the Ryder Cup at Brookline – and was right there when Justin Leonard holed that putt to trigger those controversial scenes. We find out from Brendan whether the celebrations really did spill over onto the line of Ollie’s subsequent putt. Plus, we’re joined by David Shacklady, who has risen from the PGA North region circuit to become one of the best players on the Staysure Tour. David never had a European Tour card but is proof that life begins at 50, having bagged three senior tour titles in two superb seasons. He also reveals his prowess for another sport in an engaging and entertaining chat with Keep Up Shut Up hosts Mike Morley and Tony Rushmer.

Our latest episode sees Phil Price reflect on one of the great Ryder Cup moments... with the 2002 matches coming to the boil, the Welsh star holed a monster putt on the 16th green to set up his 3 & 2 victory over none other than Phil Mickelson. We take Phil back to the Belfry to dissect one of his very finest hours. He talks at length about being part of Sam Torrance’s victorious team and also shares the identity of the only American player to join the throng at Europe’s post-triumph party. Aside from Ryder Cup heroics, Phil talks us through other highlights from his 30-year career, including the time he came second to Tiger in the US. He also outlines his hopes for the future in what is a fun and revealing interview. Meanwhile, we finally find out how Keep Up Shut Up presenter Mike Morley was given his nickname ‘Llama’. It’s actually a (surprisingly!) amusing yarn! Enjoy, folks...

Mike and Tony were delighted to be joined by none other than Mark James, a seven-time Ryder Cup player with more than 30 tournament titles on his CV. He tells us of the American who was ‘a nightmare’ to play against and reveals how some of the US team felt about that shirt design for the Singles at Brookline in ’99. We are also reminded of why caddies should think twice before engaging him in a verbal joust, plus we hear how his latest skiing holiday came to a swift halt. There are insights into James’ lockdown life – airflow ball and back-garden golf net problems – as well as a whole lot more in a fascinating catch-up with one of British golf’s most popular – and successful – figures in recent decades.
