Today we're closing out our Singles Series with Brittany from deep east Texas! One of my favorite parts of getting to know Brittany was learning about her heart for God's word and memorizing scripture, ever since she was young. We talk about the power that God's word has had on her life and how it's informed so much of who she is and how she chooses to live, and how growing up in a large family shaped the way she sees life, her leadership abilities, and her communication skills. It's a conversation about faith, family, spiritual leadership, unexpected heartbreak – and personal growth – and I know you'll be inspired by Brittany, and want to get to know her! Single guys, reach out to Brittany and say hello on Instagram or via email. **A quick note: While we're excited to introduce you to the singles featured in this series, their appearance on the podcast should not be considered an endorsement or recommendation. Houston delivered 6,400 apartment units in Q1 while Class B absorption came in at negative 750. Michael Bull, CCIM and developer Victor Menasce break down what that means for apartment investors and developers in 2026. Victor Menasce, Senior Partner at Y Street Capital, has developed and owned property through multiple recessions and cycles. He explains why the traditional Class B value-add playbook of adding washers and dryers and pushing rents $50 a month is running out of room, how Class A concessions are pulling renters up and out of older product, and why lease surfing stretches stabilization timelines even in brand new buildings. The conversation also covers entitlement risk and the case for building by right, how opposition groups now organize on social media within weeks and use AI to research objections, the Austin multifamily oversupply and how long that absorption may take, and where the supply and demand mismatch actually sits today. Victor also makes the case for active adult housing as an underbuilt segment between market rate apartments and independent living, with resident tenure averaging around nine years. Plus construction cost trends, factory built delivery, and an insurance renewal that went from $58,000 to a $350,000 quote in a single year. He currently serves as the bishop of the Lake Mountain Single Adult 5th Ward in the Saratoga Springs Utah Stake—a mid-singles unit he has led since it began in May 2023. In this role, he oversees a rapidly growing congregation drawn from multiple stakes, focusing on supporting mid-singles through their unique personal and spiritual journeys. Rob and his wife, Allison, oversaw the training of more than 40,000 volunteers for the 12-week long Saratoga Springs Utah Temple open house and dedication, the longest temple open house in Church history. They are the parents of three sons who have blessed them with three daughters-in-law and three granddaughters. Links Game Face, Inc. Watch the video and share your thoughts in the Zion Lab community Transcript available with the video in the Zion Lab community Highlights The conversation focuses on the unique challenges and cultural dynamics faced by mid-singles in the Latter-day Saint community, particularly in Utah, and how leaders can better support this demographic. Key Insights Cultural Dynamics: Mid-singles often feel disconnected in family wards due to the predominance of married members in leadership roles, leading to feelings of exclusion and instability. Out-of-Unit Members: Many mid-singles attend their neighborhood wards while also participating in mid-singles wards, creating a challenge for leaders to maintain engagement and consistency. Family Influence: Family obligations can pull mid-singles away from ward activities, making it difficult for them to build connections within their ward family. Spiritual Focus: Rob emphasizes that the primary role of leaders is to connect members with Christ, rather than solely focusing on helping them get married. Meaningful Activities: Activities should be Christ-centered and relevant to the members’ lives, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Leadership Applications Encourage Engagement: Leaders should create an environment where mid-singles feel valued and included, recognizing their unique challenges and encouraging them to participate in ward activities. Foster Connections: Leaders can facilitate opportunities for mid-singles to connect with each other and with Christ through intentional, spiritually uplifting activities that focus on attributes of Jesus Christ. Communicate with Families: Leaders should engage with the families of mid-singles to help them understand the importance of allowing their loved ones the space to build their own lives and relationships within the ward community. 00:02:30 – Cultural Dynamics in Mid-Singles Wards 00:04:00 – Understanding the Mid-Singles Experience 00:04:30 – Interview with Bishop Robert Cornilles Begins 00:05:00 – Bishop Cornilles’s Calling Story 00:07:00 – Formation of the New Mid-Singles Ward 00:08:30 – Challenges of Serving a Mid-Singles Ward 00:10:00 – Selecting Counselors for the Bishopric 00:12:00 – Current Responsibilities as a Bishop 00:13:00 – Mid-Singles Bishops Councils in Utah 00:15:00 – The Need for Mid-Singles Wards 00:16:00 – Cultural Challenges for Mid-Singles 00:20:00 – Navigating Family Dynamics and Church Involvement 00:22:00 – The Dilemma of Out-of-Unit Members 00:25:00 – Building a Strong Ward Culture 00:28:00 – Encouraging Engagement in the Ward 00:30:00 – The Importance of Personal Relationships 00:32:00 – Respecting the Needs of Mid-Singles 00:34:00 – Connecting Members with Christ 00:37:00 – Creating Meaningful Activities 00:40:00 – Intentionality in Planning Activities 00:46:00 – Monthly Themes and Attributes of Christ The award-winning Leading Saints Podcast is one of the top independent Latter-day Saints podcasts as part of nonprofit Leading Saints’ mission to help Latter-day Saints be better prepared to lead. Brian starts the episode by questioning his entire relationship with Cory, while he breaks down the incredible grilled cheese he had Monday night at Wrestling Open—and shows some love to his favorite cowboy tag team from Jersey. Then the boys dive into the wild world of Oreo flavors, taste-test the new Apple à la Mode Oreos, and argue over Brian's chicken-and-waffles knowledge bombs that Cory absolutely refuses to believe. Brian gives an update on his LEGO world-record attempts before things completely fly off the rails. The boys learn about dwarfism, Brian attempts to explain the show Little Singles, and Cory is left speechless once again when Brian reads another absolutely insane message from Facebook Marketplace. Grilled cheese. Oreos. LEGO world records. Little people dating. Marketplace madness. Society is on an endless search for happiness, training us to believe that the next product, relationship, lifestyle, or change in circumstances will finally satisfy us. In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef explains why every earthly substitute eventually disappoints: we were created to find our joy and satisfaction in God alone. This truth applies not only to material things, but also to marriage and singleness. Singles should not believe a spouse will complete them, and married believers should not assume escape from difficulty will bring the happiness they long for. Paul understood the blessing of singleness as a life of undivided service to the Lord, while also affirming marriage as a gift of God for sanctification, companionship, and Christlike love. Dr. Youssef reminds us that contentment comes when God takes hold of our marriage, our singleness, and every season of life. The secret to peace is not getting our preferred circumstance—it is listening to God, obeying Him, and trusting that His will is good. When you face decisions, questions, challenges, or deep desires, begin by going to God's Word. Seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit first, and allow godly counsel to confirm what He is teaching you. Whether married or single, contentment is found in discerning and following God's will for your life. Prayer: Lord, take hold of my life. I trust You with my situation, remembering You have ordained it and will bring good from it. I will put my hope in You and follow Your way. Lead me, Father. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. “Nevertheless, each person should live as a believer in whatever situation the Lord has assigned to them, just as God has called them. This is the rule I lay down in all the churches” (1 Corinthians 7:17). Learn more in Dr. Michael A. Youssef's sermon Healthy Living in a Sick World, Called to Contentment in Christ: LISTEN NOW | WATCH NOW The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission. If today's devotional stirred a question, burden, or need for prayer, you don't have to walk through it alone.

The Singles Series continues with Malachi from Texas, who processes the journey of carrying past pain into relationships, and how it just bleeds into the next relationship, and the next one – if you don't take the time to heal. In trying to run from his pain, he prolonged it and caused more pain along the way that led him down a path of addiction. But the past few years have ushered him into a season of intentional healing, facing the past, and healing from his past trauma as well as his past mistakes. He's desiring to do relationships in a way that honors God, and he's committed to staying faithful to the calling God has on his life for ministry. Not only that, but now he leads a freedom ministry, helping others get set free as well. He's moved from heartbreak into healing, and he's praying for a woman who can walk with him along that journey. Ladies, give Malachi a shout out and introduce yourself by contacting him at: Email: Malachi.av.burden@gmail.com or Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/malachiburden_ **A quick note: While we're excited to introduce you to the singles featured in this series, their appearance on the podcast should not be considered an endorsement or recommendation. Dust off your CD jewel cases and fire up the portable discman, because this week Dave and Rob are diving headfirst into nineties nostalgia with their top 10 favorite '90s movie soundtracks! The 1990s was the undisputed golden age of cinematic compilations—an era when a movie's tracklist could become a cultural phenomenon in its own right. While the guys are keeping their final rankings strictly under wraps until recording, expect a wild ride through the decade's absolute juggernauts: think the world-conquering pop dominance of The Bodyguard and Titanic, the cool-as-ice cool of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, and the grunge-and-alt-rock essential compilations like Singles, Empire Records, and Clueless. Tune in to see which soundtrack claims the ultimate spot at number one, which forgotten classics make a surprise appearance, and whether Dave and Rob can actually agree on a single top pick! Social media has transformed the way we connect, share, and see the world. For Christian singles, it can be both a blessing and a subtle trap. One of the most common struggles is comparison — measuring your life, your relationships, your appearance, or your spiritual progress against the carefully curated highlight reels of others. Engagement announcements, wedding photos, vacation posts, and “perfect” couple moments can quietly erode joy and leave you feeling behind, inadequate, or forgotten by God. If you […] The post Overcoming Comparison on Social Media: A Biblical Guide appeared first on Christian Singles Advice | Christian Dating Advice Tips. One of the most important questions a Christian can ask in dating or relationships is this: Is this relationship from God—or is it a counterfeit the enemy is using to pull me away from Him? In a culture that often confuses strong feelings with divine leading, many believers struggle to tell the difference between a God-ordained connection and one that the enemy is orchestrating for destruction. Scripture is clear that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians […] The post How to Tell If a Relationship Is from God or Satan: Biblical Signs of Discernment appeared first on Christian Singles Advice | Christian Dating Advice Tips. The Singles Series continues with Lauren from Indiana, who is learning to make the most of singleness, while she trusts God with her hopes for marriage. She just finished her degree to become a counselor, and she has a deep love and compassion for people. Not only that, but she's in a season of really enjoying her people – a strong community of friends that she's built around herself to do life with. We talk about how she's built community, and the importance role community, friendship, and intentional relationships has in her life. Then I process with her why a lack of community as a single person would actually be a red flag, as she's looking for someone to date and match her life and values. This is a really inspiring conversation if you're single, to encourage you to make sure you're really making the most of life. Gentleman, reach out and connect with Lauren Creek by starting a conversation with her on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/llcreek or Email: laurenc0629@gmail.com **A quick note: While we're excited to introduce you to the singles featured in this series, their appearance on the podcast should not be considered an endorsement or recommendation. In our Three Things, Utah is named the No. 1 state in America for a record-breaking fourth year in a row, Hogle Zoo welcomes a baby giraffe, and Bryan Kohberger asks to withdraw his guilty plea — potentially putting the death penalty back on the table. Plus, companies are hiring retired CEOs; credit card holders are scamming retailers with "friendly fraud”... so we loop in the morality police. Singles are using spreadsheets to evaluate their dates, and it turns out, we're all saying fewer words to each other, AI knows what you're doing online and so does your boss, and the one thing Americans can agree on — Costco. Today's guest is one of the great voices of his generation — the theater kid who auditioned for American Idol with Michael Jackson, watched the judges' faces fall, and demanded a second song because he'd just quit his job and had no health insurance. The Singles Series continues with Devon from Florida, who has learned the value of leaning into the hard conversations instead of avoiding them. Devon is pastor, coach, and single dad who has intentionally embarked on his personal healing journey, increasing in his emotional awareness, his conflict and communication, and his desire for authenticity. His past relationship history showed him his tendency to hide from hard conversations, and with the help of God and good counseling, he's taking the opposite approach in this season of life, which is to embrace the hard conversations with the people he cares about. We talk about how conflict can lead to deeper intimacy, why it's important to master relationship skills in dating, and what he's looking for in a woman. Single ladies, if you love Jesus, dimples, and hoop earrings (you'll have to listen to get that joke), send Devon Daniel a message and start a conversation: Instagram:Instagram.com/Devon_Daniel Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/devon.d.daniel/ Email: devon.daniel8282@gmail.com **A quick note: While we're excited to introduce you to the singles featured in this series, their appearance on the podcast should not be considered an endorsement or recommendation. You're putting in the work at the gym, eating what you think is enough, and still not seeing the body you're training for. Sound familiar? In this episode of Mind Pump Show, Sal, Adam, and Justin break down the six most common mistakes women make when they start lifting — pulled straight from over two decades of training real clients, not from theory. These mistakes are still showing up everywhere, and they're the exact reason your strength training isn't delivering the results you were promised. From stacking too much cardio on top of your lifting sessions to underestimating how much weight your lower body can actually handle, the guys walk through every mistake with the kind of blunt, experience-tested clarity you only get from coaches who've seen it all. The biggest surprise? A full 60% of the time when a woman calls in saying she's not seeing results, the fix is simply to eat more. Your body cannot build what you refuse to feed it. They also make the case for ditching the scale entirely as your primary progress metric, and explain why strength, not body composition scans, is the single most reliable indicator that your training is working. If you've been chasing the scale while your PRs sit flat, this episode will completely reframe how you measure success. Plus, Adam shares exactly what happened when he started training Corinne with proper rest periods and a calorie surplus, and the PRs she started hitting speak for themselves. In this episode: • Cardio and strength training compete for the same adaptive resources: doing too much of both simultaneously means you get less of each, and the fix is often as simple as removing the cardio entirely and watching the muscle finally come. • Women chronically underestimate how much they can lift, especially in lower body movements like squats, hip thrusts, and deadlifts, where female clients often match or exceed male clients' numbers once coached to load properly. • Singles, doubles, and triples (1 to 3 rep sets) are not about hypertrophy directly but about recalibrating how much weight a lifter should actually be using for their working sets of 5 reps. • Roughly 60% of the time a female caller asks why she isn't seeing results, the answer is undereating: bumping calories by 600 to 700 per day consistently produces leaner, stronger bodies within 60 to 90 days. • Programming specifics, including exercise selection, order, sets, reps, and how the week and month are structured, can dramatically alter progress, and following a well-designed program from a credible strength background almost always outperforms winging favorite exercises. • Progressive strength gain is the most objective and reliable proxy for muscle growth: adding weight to the bar removes all the noise of lighting, bloat, and daily mirror perception, giving you an undeniable directional signal. • Three to five minute rest periods between heavy compound sets feel like 'not working out' but produce consistent week-over-week strength gains that shorter rest periods simply cannot, because you return to each set fully recovered and able to apply maximum effort. • The scale frequently goes UP in the early stages of correct strength training as muscle is built before fat comes off, making body composition testing a far better metric than body weight, and even then, at least two tests are needed to identify a real trend.
