Come for the face mask reviews, stay for the "uhmmms" and long pauses. Welcome to Mask for Mask, a podcast by two queer, pilipinx men (Sonny and J.R.) who talk pop, politics and culture; all while hoping the face masks they try don't cause allergic reactions.
It's National Coming Out Day! We're back to share a conversation we had a while back, on our individual coming out experiences. While visibility is important and sharing our stories can be empowering and encouraging, we do not encourage anyone to out Queer people. Understand that coming out is a choice, a choice based on many factors like safety, survival, and quality of life. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done to make this world and our culture more accepting of various Queer identities.
Sonny and J.R. are breaking their hiatus to bring some attention to the worsening conditions related to the current fires burning in California. The heavy smoke that continues to linger in the Bay Area is hazardous and poses a threat to everyone. Those who are houseless and lack the resources to protect themselves from this environmental hazard are the most vulnerable and are most in need of assistance during this time. Something as simple as providing access to proper respiratory masks can help alleviate some of the stress associated with exposure to the smoke. Please consider donating to our #MaskForMask campaign at gofundme.com/maskformaskCAfires to help provide N95 grade respiratory masks to those in our communities who are most vulnerable
