Introducing Rebecca Smith, a licensed professional counselor and supervisor. She is the founder and owner of the counseling center of Montgomery county, which has served approximately 6,000 clients. She also has a contract with Montgomery county’s DWI and drug courts to provide mental health services for the participants and since 2014 the practice has served approximately 600 clients through these programs. She is also the founder of Love Heals You, a non profit treatment program for older teens in foster care, and is the President of Access Builds Children board of directors, a non profit organization for supervised visitation. Additionally, she is a member of Montgomery County Child Welfare Non Profit Board of directors. In this episode MartiniMantha dives deep with Rebecca on her professional background and experiences, only briefly mentioned above. They also discuss tackling mental health surrounding COVID and this year in general, the psychology structure in jail systems and our society, both its benefits and flaws, related to financials and access to care.
