#ciaksibrinda #cinema #recensionefilm #recensione #film #movie #drink #beverage #anora #seanbaker #cinemaindie #indiecinema #newyork #usa #americandream

In Episode 46, Mark Graban and Jamie Flinchbaugh spend a lot of time talking about AI, but that still, as always, begins with the whiskey. Episode page We both asked ChatGPT to consider all our ingredients for making a whiskey-based cocktail, and to invent an original recipe. Jamie's is called The Bourbon Harmony, although there was a lot in there to try to reach harmony, and Mark's was called the Spiced Cherry Rye Cocktail. The verdict for both drinks was that they were good, but probably wouldn't be made a second time. We had slightly different tactics in prompting ChatGPT to generate our recipes, which we discussed.  We then spent a little time recognizing the passing of Don Petersen, former CEO of Ford in the late 1980s. Peterson was very different from an automotive CEO at the time, disrupting many practices whose time had come. Most notably, he brought in Dr. Deming to help influence the transformation.  The discussion then turned into a deeper dive into how a lean thinker might look at artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more. This explored governance of AI, having good standard work and workflow design around AI usage, lessons of effective delegation while treating AI like an employee, when to use it, and even a few tips and tricks along the way. We saved the discussion of whether AI will be the end of humanity for when we might have a stronger cocktail.  Have AI design your new cocktail, make it yourself since AI can't do that, and sit down for this interesting discussion. We discuss Lillet Blanc (cue song 'Killing Me Softly With Quinine') and we have a few more television recommendations (I swear we don't just waste away our days watching the boob tube!) Our dog Olive crashes the show and tries to sneak a sip of Johnny's margarita (bad dog!) Our show question is: What are some of your favorite food-centric episodes from fictional television shows? (We could probably devote and entire episode of our show just to 'Seinfeld' and 'The Office'). Our "Gastro Obscura" feature takes us to Cypress, Greece for a feature on psychedelic, hallucination-inducing fish! In the 90s I began seeing Travis Crawford's byline pop up in assorted magazines, and over the years he has written for publications including Film Comment, Filmmaker, Fangoria and increasingly in the liner notes of archival DVDs. Currently he writes regularly for the U.K. Publication, the Calvert Journal. Crawford's always intelligent and passionate writing, often about films that mix genre conventions with exploratory filmmaking, has made his a byline worth seeking out. Personally, his biggest impact was made in his years as a film programmer at the Philadelphia Film Festival, whose highlight was always the sidebar “Danger After Dark,” a series of films curated by Crawford that brought some of wildest and most thrilling films to the festival and promoted the work of major directors who had been otherwise under-represented. Film is a major passion of mine but we haven't had a guest to discuss film with on the show since we had Reelblack Cinema's guru Mike Dennis on twenty episodes ago. Travis and I have chatted across Facebook a lot but I'd only met him fleetingly before the Fun 2 Know mobile studio trekked down to quaint Wilmington, Delaware, still basking in its Revolutionary-era charm. I usually try to pry out the guest's origin story but listening to Bill Ackerman's excellent Supporting Characters podcast, it seemed that Bill had already completed that job. Instead, we engage in a more freewheeling, loose conversation, one hardly influenced at all by the slowly emptying bottle of Lillet Blanc that mysteriously evaporated over the two-plus hours of talk. We discuss our theater going experiences across Delaware, Philadelphia and San Francisco, the work of Dario Argento and Brian De Palma, the current state of the great directors of the 70s, Lindsey Lohan, film distribution today, the limitation of the TV medium, Asian cinema, clawing out a living, bad jobs, film snobbery, Michael Shannon, the new Twin Peaks and much more, So let's head over now, you can imagine the late afternoon sun slowly dropping in the sky while we sit in the dining room of a bed and breakfast with every detail in the room rich in Colonial detail, as we mull over nearly a hundred years between us of film-viewing thoughts and memories.

Today on The Speakeasy, spirits writer Kara Newman joins us to tell us about her new book! Shake. Stir. Sip.: More than 50 Effortless Cocktails Made in Equal Parts is all about no-fuss cocktails with even portions. The Cucumber Gimlet, for instance, combines one part each vodka, lime juice, and lemonade. Drop a few cucumber slices in and garnish with a basil leaf. If you strike upon a drink you especially like, it's pretty easy to scale it up for your next party. Writing about the book for the Times, last week's Speakeasy guest Robert Simonson explains that "Equal-parts cocktails have long been part of the cocktail canon. Older examples include the corpse reviver No. 2 (gin, Curaçao, Lillet Blanc, lemon juice) and the Negroni (gin, sweet vermouth, Campari), arguably the king of this drink subset. Modern classics include the paper plane (bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, lemon juice) and the trident (aquavit, Cynar, dry sherry)." The book's proving popular already; it's already been renewed for a second print run.

The stiff cocktail comes from 1930 as one in a family of "hair of the dog cocktails". It's good for whatever might be ailing you. Enjoy it in moderation. Note on the Lillet Blanc vs. Cocchi Americano, the former is sweeter and the latter is more bitter. So choose the one that appeals to your taste. Both are generally available. 1 oz. gin 1 oz. Cocchi American or Lillet Blanc, as preferred 1 oz. Cointreau 1 oz. fresh lemon juice 1 dash absinthe Place all components in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously. Pour into a cocktail glass. It s a common fact of life that there is more to people and things than meets the eye. For example, many people know New Orleans artist Thomas Mann for his jewelry and metal sculptures, but may have been unfamiliar with his interest with food. An accomplished cook and self styled ovo lacto piscean vegetarian, Thomas will get to show off his chops on Food Network s new competitive cooking show "All Star Academy," which premieres Sunday, March 1 at 8 p.m. He gives us the scoop on his network debut and what audiences can expect to tune into. Louisiana Eats roving reporter Jyl Benson is more than just a longtime contributor to our show. She s also a prolific food writer and, most recently, author of a new cookbook "Fun, Funky and Fabulous New Orleans Casual Restaurant Recipes." Along with collaborator Sam Hanna, Jyl discusses how the book came together, both offering an in depth look at their approach to food photography. Also, Chris Boucher, industrial hemp advocate, explains the benefits of Cannabis sativa, the plant often demonized as "The Devil s Weed." While hemp and marijuana are both derivatives of Cannabis sativa, hemp contains no THC, the active chemical that gets marijuana users high. Chris explains why attitudes toward hemp turned sour by the 1930s and why he believes, with new research and growing interest in the product, hemp cultivation will soon become a giant industry in the U.S. We re taking a long look on both sides of the fence on this week s Louisiana Eats Chicken Liver Mousse for all SeasonsChef Isaac Toups, Toups Meatery Makes about 6 cups This versatile recipe can be adapted with other spirits and spice blends to suit the seasons The clove and nutmeg called for here are good choices for winter.
