We spent last night drinking by the fire and talking amongst ourselves, so there isn't much to catch up on today. Crackcoon: Nefarious drug dealers prowl the under-bridge areas of West Virginia peddling the newest way to chase your high. Crack mixed with BATH SALTS! Well, wouldn't ya know it, a bag full of this new designer drug gets discarded in the woods, and it's consumed not only by JD Vance's relation, but also a friggin' raccoon. What follows is almost a paradise of death and mayhem. Crackcoon final grade: Steve: Being able to listen to the dialogue kinda detracted from my first "visuals only" encounter with this one. That said, campy ridiculousness is exactly what the doctor ordered. 4.5/5.0Brandon: The movie wasn't great, but it wasn't trying to be great. As such, it was freakin' fantastic. Practical effects were better than expected. 4.5/5.0Cocktail of the Week:The Rabid Raccoon1 1/2 oz White Rum1/2 oz Blue Curaçao1/2 oz Coconut Rum2 oz Pineapple Juice1/2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime JuiceRandom Energy Drink of your ChoiceThrow everything into a cocktail shaker over ice. Shake to chill and combine. Strain into a Collins glass over ice. Top with whatever energy drink you want to use to destroy your nervous system.Cocktail Grade: ChatGPT calls this one "a chaotic mix of bold flavors, with an unexpected kick." Very sweet. The best AI cocktail we've tried this far. Probably didn't need the energy drink part. 4.0/5.0------------------Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to:boozeandbmovies@gmail.comX: @boozeandbmoviesInstagram: @boozeandbmoviesThreads: @boozeandbmovieswww.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies

Start off with an old-school Kids' Sports Update before getting to the movie.Yor, The Hunter from the Future: A caveman with a backstory, such that there is one, similar to Lonestar in Spaceballs wanders around the Turkish countryside causing mayhem. He meets women. They fall in love with him. Other cavemen come along and destroy shit. Then SUDDENLY, there's space ships and laser beams. Apparently Yor is actually from an advanced civilization! And his civilization is fighting another civilization of bad guys who want to create a world of androids. There is no time travel. This is all happening on the same planet at the same time and no one noticed. Whatever. Yor, The Movie with the Wordy Title final grade: Steve: I wanted to like this one, but Antonio Marrrgggeriiitttiii's attempt to take a four-hour mini-series and pare it down to a 90-minute movie probably lost a lot of the plot. Tarzan/Flash Gordon mash-up was too convoluted. 1.8/5.0Brandon: The first 60 minutes of this movie had nothing to do with the last 30. There wasn't any attempt to tie the Star Wars-y stuff to the caveman stuff. Yor wasn't even from the future. He was just from a different part of the same beachfront property. 1.9/5.0Cocktail of the Week:The Cosmic Caveman1 oz Bourbon1/2 oz Mezcal1/2 oz Blue Curaçao1 oz Pineapple Juice1/2 oz Fresh-squeezed Lime Juice1/2 oz Honey SyrupAngostura Bitters1/2 oz Over-proof RumCombine everything except the rum in a cocktail shaker. Shake to combine and chill, then strain into a rocks glass. Garnish with a lime wheel laid on top. Pour over-proof rum onto lime wheel/chunk and light the rum on fire. Cocktail Grade: ChatGPT is clearly in the tank for Big Blue Curaçao. Looks like toxic waste. Doesn't taste great. You don't make enough money to support ChatGPT's liquor budget. Really gave Steve some tummy troubles the next morning. 1.3/5.0------------------Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to:boozeandbmovies@gmail.comX: @boozeandbmoviesInstagram: @boozeandbmoviesThreads: @boozeandbmovieswww.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies

Reinforcing our annual youth sports "Don't Be a Dick" PSA. Steve is psyched that his Buckeyes from THE Ohio State University won the National Championship. Brandon, and the rest of society, are thrilled the Philadelphia Eagles snuck out of their snowy game with another W. Brandon is also very upset about paper goods. Creepazoids: A group of military deserters traipse across a post-apocalyptic future, dancing between the acid rain drops. Before a big storm rolls in, they have to take shelter in what turns out to be an uber-secure government research facility, that they are able access by one guy kicking a wood door one time. After they find a veritable oasis of medical supplies, hot running water, and citrus fruits that somehow haven't gone bad yet, they find out that the building is inhabited by some deadly creatures. A bipedal ant kinda lookin' thing and Chuck-E-Cheese-reject rats, hopped up on either the excess or the lack of amino acids, pick them off one-by-one as they fight for their lives. Creepazoids final grade: Steve: Good practical effects. I love hallways. Some of the 80s tunes were rad. 3.20/5.0 Brandon: A good way to space out for an hour or so. Some good unintentional humor. Deduction for protracted baby fight scene. 3.08/5.0 Cocktail of the Week: 1 ½ oz vodka ½ oz Blue Curaçao ½ oz Midori melon liqueur 1 oz fresh lime juice ½ oz simple syrup Splash of soda water Optional garnish: lime wheel or a neon-colored cocktail umbrella Combine all non-fizzy ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Shake to chill and combine, then strain into a rocks glass over ice. Top with sparkling water. Garnish with lime wedge/slice and cherries. Cocktail Grade: We turned our brains over to the AI this week, as much of the world does on a regular basis. Surprisingly enough, it actually worked out pretty well this time. A sweet cocktail that turned out better than expected. Using a slightly larger glass for round two, and adding a little more club soda diluted the sweetness a bit and improved it. 4.2/5.0 ------------------ Contact us with feedback or cocktail/movie recommendations to: boozeandbmovies@gmail.com X: @boozeandbmovies Instagram: @boozeandbmovies Threads: @boozeandbmovies www.facebook.com/boozeandbmovies

This movie is much maligned - and perhaps rightfully so - but we managed to find a lot to talk about and not all of it was negative. What a curious surprise . . . Also we loved the cheeky warning at the beginning, ""The Screaming Skull is a motion picture that reaches its climax in shocking horror. Its impact is so terrifying it May have an unforeseen effect: it May kill you.

Swimfan is the epitome of early 2000's suspense/thriller films and I love it! This was available on HBO Max when I recorded this and now you can watch it on Cinemax or rent or buy it from Amazon. The film stars Jesse Bradford and Erika Christensen with the plot of the movie being that a high school senior with a promising swimming career has a one-night stand with consequences. So let this film be a lesson to everyone, in the words of Anna Kendrick in Pitch Perfect, "Make good choices." I think everyone will either have forgotten who else was in this film or will be surprised by who else was in this film, maybe both. The Swimming Pool (Original Recipe from thelosttikilounge.com): Ingredients 1 1/3 oz White Rum 2/3 oz Vodka 1/3 oz Blue Curaçao 2/3 oz Cream of Coconut 1/3 oz Sweet Cream 1 1/3 oz Pineapple Juice 1 Fresh Pineapple Wedge 2 Maraschino Cherries - with stems if possible Directions Pour all ingredients into a shaker - apart from the Blue Curacao. Then add enough crushed ice to show above the surface of the liquid. Shake vigorously for around 20 seconds to ensure the cream is fully mixed, strain and pour into a chilled Hurricane or Highball glass filled with crushed ice Then, carefully pour the Blue Curaçao over the drink so it filters down through the cocktail. If it continues to sit on the surface, give it a very slight stir, just enough to help it dissipate, but not enough to blend it in. To make your garnish cut fresh pineapple into a wedge (leave the outer skin on for a nice contrast), place two cherries onto a cocktail stick and push into the pineapple, make a slit in the bottom of the wedge and place onto the side of the glass. Drinking Game (Tumblr.com, this was a mix of two different drinking games): Drink when... Anyone swims/goes in the pool. Someone's full name is mentioned, ie: “Madison Bell,” “Ben Cronin,” etc. The swim meet and/or Stanford is referenced, the scouts are shown. Christopher Dante shows up. Anyone is injured and/or dies. There is shitty rock music playing. There's a dude in a speedo on screen. Anything sexual happens. They say, “Ben.” They say, “Madison.” Madison shows signs of insanity. Madison is a bitch. Similarly, drink anytime someone says, “bitch.” You see evidence that this movie was made in the early 2000s. Someone says, “swim” or, “pool.” (Buuulge) You see a computer screen. The technology is outdated. Take a Shot every time Madison tries to kill someone (spoiler alert). As always, drink responsibly and with others, no one wants to drink alone. This week's edition of Century Club sees us toasting to the latest hit single by alt-pop heavyweights Twenty One Pilots, "Shy Away." Like the rest of us, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun felt scaled back and isolated over the past year, and that manifests in their new sound and the tongue-in-cheek title of their album Scaled and Icy. Tune in to hear how we distill that frosty sensation down into a minty-fresh shot that's infinitely more chuggable than your mouthwash. WE MADE IT TO SEASON TWO! When I started this podcast I did it for me, and still am, but I also wasn't sure how many episodes I would be able to reach, or how many listens I'd have, or who would be joining me on the episodes. I have loved making this podcast and hope that my listeners are enjoying it. Please feel free to email me at linedrunk@gmail.com or reach out on Twitter or Instagram @Line_Drunk if you'd like to be a guest, know someone that would love to be a part of an episode or two, or just want me to do an episode on a certain movie or tv episode. I think I will have great things for the future of Line Drunk and more celebrity guest..... Speaking of which, on the season two premier I am joined by Amos Crawley and his wife Cady, I have actually mentioned him before during Goosebumps The Haunted Mask episodes. You have probably seen him in Night of The Twisters, Billy Madison, or Rent-a-Kid and soon you can see him in The Oak Room. He and his wife were wonderful to have on the podcast and great to chat with, they are welcome back any time. We had gone back and forth trying to find a film to discuss and ended up on the 80's cult classic, Heathers. This film stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, Shannen Doherty among an amazing cast. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it. It is available to watch on Prime, or I'm sure you can find a copy at a big retail chain. This film is like the original Mean Girls, but darker, instead of Cady thinking about such awful things, Veronica and J.D. actually do them. So grab a cocktail, relax, and enjoy this episode. Big Blue Freeze (cinemasips.com): 3/4 oz Rum 3/4 oz Blue Curaçao 3/4 oz Creme de Coconut 2 oz Pineapple Juice Combine all ingredients in a shaker filled with ice and shake until chilled. Fill a mug 3/4 full of crushed ice and pour mixture over top. Drinking Game (medium.com): Sip: A Heather says "Heather" Weird, breath-y synth music accompanies a slow motion shot. Veronica is sarcastic. The Red Scrunchie is prominently displayed in a shot. Christian Slater's Jack Nicholson impression is embarrassingly obvious. You admire an article of clothing on screen. Drink: Heather Chandler uses a strange turn of phrase. Anyone struggles with food or drink. "Veronica" is used as a single-word statement (question, exclamation). Veronica feigns having a conscience before giving into peer pressure. A character attempts suicide. Anyone says "Oh the humanity!" BIG FUN is on screen. Finish your drink: Someone looks dead. A Person of Colour speaks on screen. (Is Ohio really this white? Really?) Extra Game: Cut to a scene in a room/house where the coulor of the decor matches the representative color of a character (the Chandler's red=accent kitchen, Heather's yellow bedroom, etc.): everyone assembled has to say "corn nuts". Last person to do it refills all cups (or gets more ice from the kitchen or whatever you want). --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/linedrunk/support
