Pastor Jeff wraps up Jonah chapter 4 by talking on Jonah's anger with God for forgiving the Ninevites after they ultimately came to him. We are challenged to find the Nineveh in our own lives, the places God calls us to go and the people that we are meant to pray for and ultimately bring to God no matter how difficult that can be. Are we going to live our lives as Jonah did, or follow God and go where he calls us?
Pastor Jeff continues the series in Jonah. In Chapter 3 God gives Jonah a chance to correct his big mistake. We don't always get a second chance, but when God in his divine wisdom and patience decides to redirect us, we would be wise to accept the opportunity and follow.
Pastor Josh teaches from the Book of Jonah, 1:17 - 2:10. We find that Jonah's experience with the whale is not unlike our experiences. God is with us regardless of where we go, what we do, or how far we feel we are from him. Sometimes the darkest circumstances serve to turn our lives toward God, and he is always faithful to forgive us. That is good news.
Pastor Jeff dives into the book of Jonah and takes a look at the ways that God is the hero in the story of Jonah and how we can relate to Jonah's actions in our lives. We cannot outrun God's grace, just as Jonah tried to do. All the while, God is constantly seeking relationship with us.

We all have giants or struggles and problems that we face in life, but true freedom from our struggles comes from putting all of our faith in Jesus and knowing that ultimately God is greater than any giant we may face.
The book of Proverbs has multiple warning for "sluggards." What is a sluggard? What happens to sluggards? More importantly, do we have slug-like qualities that we should be dealing with in our lives? Pastor Jeff has a straight forward challenge for us.
The Gospel of Luke, and the Grinch, give us some warnings for how we can miss what is important about the Christmas Season.
Throughout our lives in order to be closer with and hear answers from God we must be devoted to prayer consistently, care for others with wisdom, and share our faith and the gospel with grace.
Wear the "clothes", or live by the attributes, that we are called to portray that Jesus provided us all an example of. We need to show others compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, and above all else: love.
There are three types of "scams" that scammers will tell us will create our relationship with God, but ultimately it is important to remember that our relationship with God is done. We don't have to do anything to deserve relationship with God besides believe in him and walk in relationship with him.
Pursuing Jesus is a life long pursuit and along the way we will get pulled in different directions away from Him, but in the end the only true fulfillment we can get is through Jesus.
Pastor Jeff continues his series in Colossians by looking at how we are called to suffer well, and together.
We are, as a community, better together when we pursue authentic time with one another in order to build up our relationships both with each other and with Jesus.
Pastor Jeff discusses the values that are important to our Northlake family. In this message, part 1, he covers three of our six values: 1) we are biblically centered, 2) a personal relationship with God, and 3) we are all called to service.

We all have been gifted with talents and abilities. When we leverage what God has given us to serve His purpose, we find ourselves exactly where God wants us. We are blessed and so are those we serve.
Through Romans we discuss how through faith God uses ordinary people to strive toward the extraordinary task of bringing Israel and the entire world to be saved through Jesus.
The Apostle Paul had every reason to boast, but made a great point of his weakness. He went so far as to tell us that he had a "thorn in his side" that God would not take away in order to illustrate to him, and to us, that He is strong in us when we are weak.
It's Easter. The empty tomb of Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, and the story of the resurrection is packed with lessons for us. Peter's experiences are a wonderful example of forgiveness, grace and restoration. None of us is outside of the reach God's love and forgiveness.
Pastor Jeff walks us through two house parties in the Bible that give examples of the kind of "Whatever it Takes" friends we need to have and to be.
When Jesus walked on water to meet his disciples during a storm he showed how he never loses sight of us, even when we lose sight of him. While we go through struggles in our lives Jesus is always with us whether we feel his presence or not.
Jesus goes fishing with Peter and performs a miracle while on the boat. We use this to describe how we can drop everything and just follow Jesus with the knowledge of everything that God has given to us just like Peter.
After being baptized by John, Jesus went into the wilderness to be tempted. The way he handled his temptation is a model to us.
We talk about John the Baptist and how he was called to baptize the thousands of people that he did. And how baptism was changed into what it is today through the baptism of Jesus and why we are called to be baptized as Christ followers.
A walk through what we are called to do as Christ followers and through our witness of the world how we can help others on their path with God.
