So now, back to telling our story to the German women, in West Berlin in 1982. When I listen to this old recording, I am reminded of the reasons, that my family and I, have persevered, and still live in Germany. I would like to read from 1 Corinthians, Chapter 1, which explains what God's will is for every person. There is no one that is special, we are all equal in His sight, both men and women. He loves each one of us, and has called us to bring Him glory through serving Him.The fact that I chose this, shows how important the scripture was, in my life. It was deeper, than just reading a short verse, for the day. I was taught as a young woman, that the Word of God can transform my mind, and give me a desire to know and understand His purpose. “For you see your calling brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world, to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world, to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, and things which are not, that he might nullify the things that are, so that no man should glory in His presence. But of him are you in Christ Jesus, who of God, is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, sanctification and redemption:according as it is written. He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.“This story ends with music and these words: Then one morning, a few days after the Lord took Thomas home, I had a very clear thought, “Start writing the book.” I knew what that book was, our story. Even though I never considered myself a writer, I got started. But it wasn't until seven years later, that I found a German Christian, publishing house. That book eventually, led me 15 years later, to writing this podcast!Documentary: YouTube, Finding Purpose, Kristine van Dooren
Rejection has a way of sneaking in quietly. A comment, a moment, a season that leaves you wondering if you really belong. In this message, we talk honestly about how rejection shapes us, why it cuts so deep, and how it can leave us living like we're on our own. More importantly, we're invited into healing and reminded that we were never meant to live disconnected or unloved. If you've ever felt overlooked, pushed aside, or tired of striving, this one's for you.

Author and pastor Jamie Bambrick joins Becket Cook to talk about his new book, “Set Free in a World of Chaos and Confusion: Only Jesus Can Save and Set You Free.” They discuss how the gospel offers real freedom in a culture that’s deeply confused about identity, sexuality, and truth. Jamie shares the story behind his viral response to the “He Gets Us” Super Bowl ad and why a Jesus who only “relates” to us—but never calls us out of sin—falls short of the biblical Christ. From there, the conversation moves into the big questions: God, evil, suffering, and why our intuitions about right and wrong point beyond a purely material universe. Along the way, you’ll hear powerful glimpses of lives radically changed by Christ and a clear, hopeful explanation of what it actually means to be “set free.” If you’re a skeptic, a struggler, or a believer looking for clarity in the chaos, this episode will challenge you to reconsider who Jesus is and what He offers. In this message, I reflect on John the Baptist in prison and the unseen prisons that bind us today—fear, guilt, sorrow, addiction, and despair. Christmas does not free us through sentiment or celebration, but through Christ Himself, who came to dwell with us in our darkness and set prisoners truly free. John points us to Jesus, the promised One, whose coming brings not temporary happiness, but lasting joy, peace, and hope—even in suffering. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus breaks every prison stronger than iron bars, and through His Word, Baptism, forgiveness, and Supper, He continues to visit us now. This is the Advent joy we celebrate: Emmanuel, God with us, who frees us to live—even in the midst of hardship—in His unshakable freedom and life.
Join us today as pastor Jared Lyons continues our Christmas series called "A Christmas Carol: Getting Un-Scrooged".

Lindsay was raised in an offshoot of the Way International, then handed over at 12 to cult leader Victor Barnard as one of his “maidens.” For 10 years, she endured grooming, sexual abuse, and spiritual torment — all justified by a twisted interpretation of scripture. Elvis sang a song that said, “I'm caught in a trap...I can't walk out...” He was talking about love. He loved someone and no matter what, he couldn't walk away from the relationship because he loved that person. Paul talks about a different trap that people get caught in and that trap is set by Satan himself. He says these people are being held captive by Satan and doing whatever he desires. The sad thing is, they don't even realized it. They think they are living life to the fullest and doing whatever they want, not caring what God thinks about it. Jesus came to set us free and they only way to be free is to be living for him which is Paul's message to Timothy...stick with Jesus and pursue him!

This week we’re diving into one of the wildest and most hope-filled stories in the Gospels: Mark 5:1–20. It starts in absolute chaos—darkness, fear, and a man everyone had given up on—and ends with a life completely changed by Jesus. Discussion Questions: When Jesus steps onto the shore in verses 1–6, what details stand out about the man’s condition? Any questions that come about from this? After the man is delivered, verse 15 gives a clear picture of who he becomes. What stands out to you about this transformation, and why do you think Mark wants us to see the contrast so plainly? The townspeople beg Jesus to leave (v. 17), while the man begs to go with Him (v. 18). What does this contrast show about the different ways people respond to Jesus’ power and mercy? How do you see similar responses today? Jesus sends the man home to tell others “how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you” (v. 19). What has the Lord done for you, and who is one person you can intentionally share that with this week?
Just in time for Thanksgiving, Jimmy Duncan is home with his family after a judge vacated his 1st degree murder conviction and released him from prison this week. Duncan was set to die for the rape and drowning death of a 23-month-old girl, whose mother now believes died accidentally, and not at the hands of her ex-boyfriend. Amy and T.J. go over the allegations of prosecutorial misconduct that set Duncan free and his fight to be fully exonerated. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us a textGUEST: JAMIE BAMBRICK, Associate Pastor Hope Church, Craigavon, Northern IrelandFor nearly 1500 years, Britain has been a Christian nation—Roman Catholic for centuries and then Protestant since the Reformation in the 16th century. In fact, the nation has an official Christian church—the Church of England.Britain is known for some of the most impactful preachers, such as John Knox (Scotland), John Bunyan, Charles Spurgeon, William Booth (Salvation Army), and Martin Lloyd Jones. It would not be an overstatement to say that Britain was the seat of Protestant Christianity for several centuries. So it is hard to understand how a nation known for its Christianity is so willing to throw it all away. How is that happening? Over the last 20 years or so, Britain has welcomed millions of Muslims into their land to the point that the most common birth name in England is Muhammad. Nine major cities, including London, have Islamic mayors. Muslims openly call for jihad and Sharia Law on the streets of England and Muslim gangs have raped English girls for years while the government covered it up for fear of creating “Islamophobia.”Jamie Bambrick is a pastor and well-known YouTuber in Belfast, Northern Island, which is one of four nations that comprise the United Kingdom (England, Wales, and Scotland are the others). Jamie joins us to discuss the societal suicide that is taking place, particularly in England, and how Christians in America need to be aware and vigilant about what is taking place here. For example, New York City, the cultural and financial hub of our country, is set to elect a communist Muslim to be mayor. The same thing is taking place here in Minneapolis.Jamie will also report on how other liberties are being restricted through arrests for social media posts and praying outside abortion clinics to a nation ID card called BritCard, which will allow government to track and control your life and movement. From co-authors Mark Hopson and Jamie Bambrick, Set Free is for anyone searching for answers, wrestling with doubts or wondering if real change is possible. It's about breaking free from the lies we believe — about ourselves, about God and about what will make us happy. It's also about discovering the truth, purpose and hope we were made for.
What if everything you’ve been told about life … isn’t the whole story? Pastor and Evangelist Jamie Bambrick will join us to help anyone searching for answers, wrestling with doubts or wondering if real change is possible. He will help us break free from the lies we believe — about ourselves, about God and about what will make us happy. It’s time to stop believing the lies — and start living free.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
