Becoming Nobody: The Key To Freedom And Happiness | This episode is brought to you by Paleovalley, Joovv, and Athletic GreensOur higher and lower-self are always around, but who are we listening to most of the time? Who is having the conversation in our heads? Taking a deeper look at my level of awareness led me to study Buddhism in college and though I changed course to pursue a career in medicine, spiritual growth has always remained a passion for me. I think as humans we need a mass recognition that we are all one; we need to see that inside we’re all the same. Learning from others is a key part of the journey to greater awareness and there are so many teachers I’ve found throughout my life that have helped me do that. Today’s guest on The Doctor’s Farmacy is one of them. Rameshwar Das has been navigating a spiritual path for 50 years. Ramesh met Ram Dass in 1968 and spent time with Neem Karoli Baba in India from 1970-72. He learned Vipassana meditation from Goenka in India. Ramesh has worked as an artist, photographer, environmentalist, and writer. He has collaborated on many projects with Ram Dass over the years, including the original Be Here Now, and the Love Serve Remember recordings, and is co-author with Ram Dass on three books, Be Love Now, Polishing the Mirror, and Being Ram Dass. This episode is brought to you by Paleovalley, Joovv, and Athletic Greens.Paleovalley is offering 15% off your entire first order. We are re-releasing our original short series, Orinthal, with new editing and music. Three years ago, we started our podcast with this actual play with no idea of where it would lead. Taking place over a hundred years before our current actual play adventures, our characters in Orinthal looked for clues and hunted for a secret foe who instigated devious plots within the city. For those who have listened to the original release, we hope you will enjoy this fresh take on the story. Starting from when our heroes meet, our editor Adam has cleaned up the audio and we have added music to enhance the mystery and action. Today we talk about productivity for entrepreneurs and how to find more efficiency within your business. My guest today is Kate Erickson. She is the host of the podcast Ditch Busy and co-author of The Podcast Journal: Idea to Launch in 50 Days. Her goal is to help entrepreneurs ditch busy and achieve financial and lifestyle freedom. This podcast will inspire, encourage, and teach you how to start embracing time management in a way that makes you feel free. HIGHLIGHTS: Understand what it means to be productive, not busy Learn how to "take inventory" of your tasks Find out what commitments are important to you Start focusing on tasks you love QUOTES: "If you think about it from an ROI perspective, (return on investment) think of the investment as your time. Usually, people talk about ROI in terms of, “Okay, I spent this much money. How much should I get back?” "Taking inventory is just having a sheet of paper or online note-taking system and recording every single thing that you work on, that you spend your time on in a given week." "As entrepreneurs, as brand creators, we're constantly coming up with ideas. We might think, oh, that sounds awesome. Brain dump it, put it on a list. You won't forget it." How to Improve Your B2B Content Marketing for Better Results We hear it so often when it comes to B2B marketing: content, content, content. But how has the content marketing landscape changed when it comes to B2B? What are some of the common mistakes and misconceptions, and how should they be addressed? In our conversation with Matthew Royse (Marketing Director, Syntax), we talk about how all of these factors affect B2B content marketing, the importance of having the right strategy in place, and why leveraging different formats for your content is crucial.Topics discussed in this episode: Taking the journalistic media approach to content marketing is key to success. [01:36]Misconceptions about B2B content marketing. [05:50]Key changes in B2B content marketing and demand lead gen: the increasing importance of websites, a "sales-free" sales experience, and online demos. [09:40]How to leverage different formats and channels for content marketing. [15:12]Matthew's tips:In 2021, reflect and reprioritize what is important to you and your company. Then create that real marketing strategy. [20:40]Review your old content. Update and refresh it, and make sure the foundational SEO is covered. [23:52]Produce quality content that is unique, solves your audience's challenges, and is ideally evergreen. I'm your host, Christian Klepp, and one of the founders of EINBLICK Consulting. Our goal is to share inspirational stories, tips and insights from b2b marketers, digital entrepreneurs, and industry experts that will help you to think differently, succeed and scale your business.Welcome everyone to this episode of the B2B Marketers on a Mission podcast where you get your weekly dose of b2b marketing insights. This is your host, Christian Klepp. And today, I'd like to welcome a guest onto the show, who is a senior marketing leader with 20 years of marketing and communications experience. His areas of expertise cover several facets of the marketing spectrum. And he's also a Duke University teacher and professional speaker for digital and social selling. I mean, I could go on and on, but I'd rather leave it to him to tell us more.So Mr. Matthew Royse, welcome to the show, sir.Matthew Royse 01:01Thank you appreciate being here.Christian Klepp 01:03All right, Matthew, I really enjoyed our, you know, the discussions that we had in the pre interview call, and I'm really looking forward to this conversation. So why don't we just get started? So one of the things that, you know, we discussed during the pre-interview call, Matthew, was like, you know, that you developed your expertise, you built your career around a very, I would say, is a very important area. It's a b2b content marketing. Right? So, talk to us about what you believe is required in order for organizations to be able to successfully implement a b2b content marketing strategy.Matthew Royse 01:36Yeah, so, yeah, this is a topic near and dear to me. And I work for a b2b technology company, I've been in the tech space 12 years and wholeheartedly believe that content marketing is the foundation of a good digital marketing strategy and an overall marketing strategy. So to be successful in b2b content marketing, you really need to take that media or journalistic mindset. And you have to think like the traditional media, the traditional TV, industry publications, mainstream media publications, become a media company yourself. And how do you do that? You really do that by answering the questions that people are asking the most. So going into Google and figuring out what questions people are asking on Google and then answering that, and not only answering it, but answering it 10 times better than anybody else.

More Than a Song - Discovering the Truth of Scripture Hidden in Today's Popular Christian Music
I dropped a glass casserole lid on my tile kitchen floor the other day. It shattered into a host of small pieces. I'm still finding pieces of glass here and there. There's a difference between being broken and shattered. Shattered seem so irreparable. In Blanca's song "Shattered" she reminds us that the task of putting the shattered pieces back together is not too big for God. Scripture offers many examples of shattered lives that God touches. We'll look at one example together this week. In this episode, I discuss: Taking a B.I.T.E. out of Scripture - this week's Bible Interaction Tool Exercises include: Reading in context Make observations Ask questions Consult a map Remembering the people described in the Bible were real Consult section headings Read in a variety of translations Make a list Define words The 30 Day Music Challenge How we can comfort others because of our own experiences - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 The daily practice of being washed in the Word as an act of worship - Ephesians 5:26-27 The story of the widow of Nain - Luke 7:11-17 Asking questions like, "Soon after what?" and "Where did he come from?" Make observations, write them in lists, look up words you don’t understand, and enjoy your time being washed with the water of the Word.
ABOUT Kojo Baffoe Kojo Baffoe is the son of a Ghanaian father and a German mother who was raised in Lesotho. He currently lives in Johannesburg, South Africa and is an entrepreneur, writer, content strategist, former men’s magazine editor and speaker, to mention a few of his roles in life. He calls himself a retired poet, and he studied Economics, Marketing and Business Administration. Kojo has worked in multiple sectors and aside from his content creation for different brands, he is in the process of publishing his book titled Listen to Your Footsteps. Writing to Make Africa’s Voice Heard In this episode, you will hear all about the possibilities that open up career-wise when you are willing to define your life by your needs and what you envision for yourself. Taking risks and making jumps without knowing how things are going to go is a challenging decision that can be very rewarding at many different levels. Kojo Baffoe refers to himself as a “professional jack of all trades” and he undoubtedly lives up to the title. He talks about the different studies and jobs he has done and how his unwillingness to define himself by his career has allowed him to explore different pursuits, from being the editor of Destiny Man to entering the business world. Kojo opens up about his addiction and how he realized he needed help. In the process of getting through this, he achieved self-acceptance and realized he doesn’t need to make excuses for who he is. This journey has helped him in his life and his writing. Kojo is an example of reinvention, perseverance, adaptation, and growth and his goal is to make the voice Africans heard worldwide. Highlights of the episode: 02:04: Kojo Baffoe talks about his background, how he defines himself, and his mission to ensure the voice of Africans is heard in this world. 09:23: Kojo’s father’s journey to become a businessman after being an academic, which formed how Kojo saw the business world and allowed him to have an early education on the subject. 14:35: The political limitations that existed in the African continent, especially for South Africa challenged the pan-african ideals in which Kojo grew up. 19:02: The difference between pursuing a life focused on the lifestyle desired and basing the definition of self through work and career goals. The importance of being willing to jump into the unknown and making it work according to what the final destination is. 25:39: A job title can come with numerous perks and keeping in mind that these are associated with the job and not the worker is instrumental to not get lost in the process. Self-worth should always be based on more than a job title, a career, or a social media following. 42:42: Koje opens up about the impact the COVID-19 pandemic had in his work life and his mental state and how writing a book is not as profitable as people might think. 49:43: Koje talks about the origin of his addiction to alcohol, how this led him to try other drugs and the support system that allowed him to get the help he needed. 54:23: The trauma that comes with the rejection and struggle in the entrepreneurship journey and how COVID-19 has forced people to face themselves and navigate through personal and professional challenges. 01:02:14 Being an African beyond being born in this continent and the conversation around Africa as a location vs. Africa as a spirit and people coming together. Money is one of the top three things people struggle to communicate with, falling right below sex and above our reasons and motivations for work. In her coaching practice, Jillian finds clients will be very open in one-on-one sessions, but when working with couples, it becomes much more uncomfortable. Jillian believes this discomfort is because discussions of things like sex and money happened behind closed doors and weren’t modeled for us growing up. In response to a call put out for questions in Brad’s FI Weekly newsletter, listeners submitted their questions for Jillian about relationships and money. The first comes from Jonesy who had a question about keeping the lines of communication open about money with a significant other when they are at different stages. He is working and beginning to build his portfolio and savings, while his significant other is still in school and struggling to make ends meet. Jillian suggests first trying to find common ground to discuss money. You can start with telling your own money stories, like how your parents spent money or what you wish they had spent money on. It’s important to feel seen and heard. Sharing childhood stories are opportunities to start having conversations to begin learning about each other financially. Help make the conversation not feel like a trap by being genuinely curious about your partner’s life and experience. You can approach discussions about money much in the same way couples talk about the parenting they witnessed and experienced. Pick one or two questions to open up the conversation and put your partner in a relaxed state. Ensure they feel seen and heard before transitioning into conversations on budgets or debt payoff. Taking the small step of sharing money stories can help the couple come away with positive feelings, feel closer, and know just a little bit more about each other. Jillian and her husband did not communicate about money well during the first few years of their marriage. They had very different money stories and didn’t know how to explain why they were reacting or felt the way they were. Breaking the big scary stuff down into bite-sized non-intimidating questions is something Jillian guides users through in her latest workbook, part of which asks us to examine our parents’ patterns, whether or not we have copied or rebelled against them, if what was inherited is serving you well, and do you want to take it forward. Because Jonesy and his partner aren’t married, Jillian says it’s okay to skip the specifics in the middle, like savings rates and budgets, and discuss the outcome, like a common goal to work toward together. If you work on learning to talk about money, understanding each other financially, and can work toward a common goal, by the time you are on the same page, the middle stuff will be easier. Listener Sam wants to know if it can work when one half of a couple is excited about being on the FI path but the other half says FI is not for them. Sam has been on her journey for three years and has a 50% savings rate and plans to retire early, but recently married and her husband’s savings rate is far from the same and he plans on working until 60. They currently keep their finances separate. Jillian thinks Sam and her husband could benefit from having conversations about work, its role, and how it ties to identity. It’s feasible for one person to retire while the other works, but it can create a rift unless they understand each other’s stories and mindsets. Brad wonders how Sam and her husband keeping their finances separate could work logically in the long-term. Jillian thinks on the surface it cold work so long as they work on everything below the surface and sure each is truly comfortable with the situation. Listener Titan wants to know how to make the monthly chart tracking their progress toward FI more fun and exciting for his significant other. Unfortunately, Jillian thinks Titan’s partner will never be excited about it. In any relationship, it seems like there’s one who likes worksheets and graphs and one who prefers to talk about things. She suggests not focusing on the numbers on the graph and instead make it about the amazing life they are creating or whatever is exciting for them. Jonathan can sympathize with Titan’s situation but says what were are looking for is trust that you are building an awesome life together and moving forward in the same direction. Dr. Ana Gantman studies how people process moral stuff. She’s an assistant professor at Brooklyn College, and she finds that our attention is often drawn more quickly to morally relevant stimuli in our environment. More recently, she’s been looking into how our moral judgments collide with bureaucracy and how we can use moral psychology to address issues surrounding consent and sexual assault. Things we mention in this episode:The “moral pop-out” effect where moral stuff grabs our attention (Gantman & Van Bavel, 2014; Brady, Gantman, & Van Bavel, 2020)Moral pop-out seems to work like a motivational state because it goes away when needs for justice are satisfied (Gantman & Van Bavel, 2016)Using EEG to study the time course of moral perception (Gantman et al., 2020)The books The Utopia of Rules and Bullshit Jobs by David GraeberHow “phantom rules” can be selectively enforced when someone’s violated other social norms. How do we grasp for control in our lives? Taking examples from the beginning of the divided kingdom in 1 Kings 11:41-43, Matt Zainea discusses a life-giving alternative to a power-hungry worldview.
The slogan ‘Three objects, three poisons, and three seeds of virtue. Some feelings are painful, like hate, but we often don’t recognize that feelings are suffering. We are busy focusing on an object that appears to be causing the hate or the lust, rather than understanding that feelings are manifestations of our karma. Positive feelings like happiness are the product of good karma. Feelings can be endured, transformed into virtue, or be a trigger to react in a way that causes more negative karma. The three poisons are anger, attachment, and ignorance, the delusions- or uncontrolled states of mind at the root of all delusions. Objects are the objects of our attachment, anger and delusion: the people and things we lust over, crave, or become angry with, “Three objects, three poisons, three roots of virtue.” This slogan of the mind training practice, called Lojong in Tibetan, was prescribed by the great Indian Buddhist master Atisha to transform difficulties into the path to awakening. The objects of the three poisons are not innately desirable or undesirable. The experience of the three poisons also do not have to lead to creating negative karma. In this episode, we use the meditation practice called Taking and Giving to use our experiences of anger, lust, or craving as a cause of awakening. There’s no fire like lust, No grasping like hate, No snare like delusion, No river like craving. (252) —Buddha, the Dhammapada Links and References Buddha. The Dhammapada. Translated by Gil Fronsdale. Under ConstructionGod Who RevealsExodus 34 - Unlike our made up gods, that we tell what to do and what they should be like, God has told us who He is. He has not left us living in darkness and left to guess what He is like. This is why the Scripture is such a treasure. When we understand God is who He says He is, we can see all our false narratives dealt with. We NEED a God who reveals who He is.Taking it to Jesus - Jesus reveals God to us. He reveals the same God from the OT. They are not two different subjects. Jesus reveals Exodus 34:6-7 through His life and through His death and resurrection. Our response to Jesus is the same response Moses had to God revealing who He is... WORSHIP (Exodus 34:8-9). If this is true about God, then we want the same things Moses wanted - God to be with us, God to forgive us, and for God to see us as His own!

Welcome back to Therapy Chat! In episode 266, host Laura Reagan, LCSW-C welcomes back Dr. Andy Hahn for part 2 about his Life Centered Therapy method and training process. About our guest: Andrew Hahn, Psy.D. is a licensed clinical psychologist. He received his A.B. Magna Cum Laude in Social Studies/Psychology from Harvard University and his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hahnemann University. He is certified by Helen Palmer to teach the Enneagram and has also been a faculty member in the graduate Counselling Programs at Lesley University and Northeastern University. While Dr. Hahn’s strong foundation and significant experience in traditional psychology has served his clients well, he has been untiring in his effort to understand what is going on for people so that he can better help them live more contented and healthier lives. This calling for greater understanding, as well as certain experiences which he could not fully comprehend within the confines of traditional Western paradigms, led him on a search for answers that opened him to the worlds of Buddhist and Eastern Psychology; Mystery Trainings; and Depth, Archetypal and Spiritual Psychology. Thich Nhat Hanh, Brugh Joy, Dick Olney, Helen Palmer, Barbara Hastings, and Claudio Naranjo were particularly influential teachers for him. His collaboration with Dr Judith Swack opened him to the world of kinesiology and energy psychology. Taking all of his prior experience and this collaboration led to the development of Life Centered Therapy and its training institute. Dr. Hahn has been using LCT for the past 25 years to successfully treat physical problems such as chronic pain, asthma, and allergies; emotional and mental problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and much much more. In addition, a year-long training program has taught the approach to over a thousand students. Life Centered Therapy is a revolutionary healing framework that is a blueprint for transforming most problems, ranging from the most pedestrian to the most treatment resistant. And sometimes, the transformation simply takes one hour. The work provides people with an entirely new way of healing their suffering and helps them create miracles in their lives.
