All Life Matters to God Sermon Psalm 139 Pastor Patrick Rhodes Sancity of Human Life Sunday by Patrick Rhodes
"For this is the message that you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. We should not be like Cain, who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own deeds were evil and his brother's righteous. Do not be surprised, brothers and sisters, that the world hates you. We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers and sisters. Whoever does not love abides in death." (1 John 3) Tune in as Pastor Adam unpacks this text and points out the wisdom it proclaims to us on Sanctity of Human Life Sunday.
“Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments are like the great deep; you save humans and animals alike, O Lord. How precious is your steadfast love, O God! All people may take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. O continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your salvation to the upright of heart!” (Psalm 5-10) Sanctity of Human Life Sunday – Scripture and the constant witness of the Church teach that human life is created in the image and likeness of God. The value of life, therefore, does not depend on law or personal preference. Rather, it depends on the purpose of God at creation, and His continuing love for human creatures. So great is this love, that He sent His Son to become human, to live as an embryo and become born, to live among us and suffer, to die and resurrect for our hope and glory. Sanctity of Human Life Sunday is today, the Sunday closest to the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. President Ronald Reagan first set the day aside in 1984 to give thanks for the gift of life, and to reaffirm our commitment to the dignity of every human being and the sanctity of each human life. Scripture Reference: John 2:1-12 1/19/25

In June 2022, the pro-life cause won a major victory when the Supreme Court ruled that Roe vs. Wade was unconstitutional. But even with that major decision, abortion still dominates the American culture. So what do the Scriptures say about the abortion issue? What realities do we discover about God's sovereignty over all human life? (Sanctity of Human Life Sunday 2022)

Should Christians stand against abortion? If so, why? On this Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Pastor John looks at Deuteronomy 30:11-20 to see what God says about the value of human life and what we ought to do to protect it.
Special guest and president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary joins us on this Sanctity of Human Life Sunday as he affirms that all human life, beginning at conception, is precious to God and should be to us as well.
* Today is the Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. We rejoice in God for His gift of physical life. However, the greater gift is eternal life. God desires for us to have fellowship with Him for all of eternity. That is why Jesus came to the earth to pay the penalty for our sin! * Today, we see that great gift of life - eternal life - being extended to Saul of Tarsus - the persecutor of the church! * This NEW LIFE comes with a transformation ... we become "a new man." We are told in Scripture that our "old man" (evidenced by the works of the flesh) is put off and we are given a new nature (evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit). cf. Romans 6:5-6,20-23; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 4:17-24. * This transformational work of God is evidenced in the conversion of Saul of Tarsus * This message was presented on January 22, 2023 by Bob Corbin.
