Sunday services
Skudesnes and Redeemer Lutheran Churches
Welcome to our service! In our gospel reading for today, Jesus goes home and it does not go well.
“With what shall we compare the Kingdom of God” says Jesus. It's like a mustard seed that grows into a shrub. And the birds of the air find shade in its branches.” Welcome! We're glad you're here.
We can refuse God's love. But God will never refuse to love us. God's steadfast love endures forever. Welcome to our service!
We can't explain or understand how God is one and God is three. But we believe that God was present in Jesus and Jesus is present in the Spirit. So that's why we say it - because of Jesus. "And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we have seen his glory, the glory as of a father's only son, full of grace and truth." (John 1:14) Welcome!
God bless you on Pentecost. And welcome to our service!
It's the last Sunday of Easter, so, one more time: "Christ is risen! Alleluia! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!" Welcome to our service!
Sorry this is so late - there was a software 'issue'. Welcome to our service for the sixth Sunday of Easter: "Love one another as I have loved you."
We're celebrating the fifth Sunday of Easter. All are welcome!
Welcome to our service. “Have no fear, little flock.”
"Beloved, we are God's children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is." It's important to acknowledge mystery, and at the same time to trust in the mystery of God's love and to allow ourselves to be transformed by it. Welcome to our service!
Alleluia! Christ is Risen! Welcome - we're happy you're here to sing and pray and hear the word with us.
Listen with us to the story of the death of Jesus. Here is our God: crucified with and for us.
"Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord .... Hosanna in the highest!" We are pleased to have you with us! You are welcome to join us for Holy Week, too. (Services will be posted either on the day or on the morning after.)
There's a silly mistake in the sermon: the theologian mentioned died in 2001. Now that we've cleared that up, welcome to our service!
Welcome to our service! "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever."
"God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength." Welcome!
Thank you for worshipping with us.
This is the audio version of our Ash Wednesday service. If you would like to sing and pray with us - or even just listen - welcome!
Welcome to our service for Transfiguration Sunday. Lent begins on Wednesday so check back for an Ash Wednesday podcast. And may the Lord bless and keep you through the coming week.
Welcome to our service - we're glad you're here, worshipping with us. And may God bless and keep you!
Here's what this Sunday is about: Jesus has come to destroy the powers of evil and the reign of death and bring the reign of life and goodness: the kingdom of God. That's good news! Thank you for worshipping with us.
We are called to be part of what God is doing in the world - part of the light. That's our theme for the third Sunday after Epiphany. Thank-you for worshipping with us!
Welcome everyone! Come sing and pray and listen to the Word with us. And may God bless you.
Today we remember the Baptism of Our Lord (and Epiphany!) Thank you for joining us and may the Lord bless and keep you.
Happy New Year and welcome! (Apologies for the somewhat uneven sound. Next week we'll use a mic or a sound editor or both!)
Welcome to our service for the last Sunday of Advent. We hope you'll join us for our Christmas Eve service, too!
The Third Sunday of Advent has traditionally been called 'Gaudete (Rejoice) Sunday'. Rejoice with us! And if you don't feel like rejoicing, we hope you can find some comfort and hope with us.
It's the second Sunday of Advent. Welcome!
It's the first Sunday of Advent and we welcome you to our service.
It's the last Sunday of the church year and it's all about how the story ends. Next Sunday we start again, with Advent. Welcome!
We're back after a HUGE blizzard. Welcome to our service!
Welcome! Somehow it's November already ..... Thank you for worshipping with us. (Sometimes it's a little hard to hear - we will fix this next week.)
Welcome to our Reformation Sunday service! Thank-you for coming. One note: at the end there's a banjo version of "A Mighty Fortress", played by a guy named Rob Bourassa. There's a fairly long silence - at least it seems long - before it begins but it's well worth the wait.
This service was recorded at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Davidson, Saskatchewan, Canada. We're happy to have worship with us!
Happy Thanksgiving, if you're in Canada! But wherever you are, we are happy to have you join our celebration.
It's the first Sunday of October and the Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost. This service was recorded at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Davidson, Saskatchewan, Canada. Welcome!
This Sunday's service was recorded at Skudesnes Lutheran Church, near Loreburn Saskatchewan. We hope you feel at home with us!
Welcome! We're now recording 'live services'. There were some 'technical difficulties' last week and we missed last Sunday but it's working now. This service is from Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church in Davidson, Saskatchewan, Canada. We'll alternate between the two churches in our parish so next Sunday's service will come from Skudesnes. Recording live means the podcast won't be available till Monday, unfortunately. (This is a matter of where and when a good internet connection is available.) But we hope you enjoy worshipping with us any day of the week. Once again, welcome!
Welcome to our service and thank you for worshipping with us. (There's an extra long pause between the Creed and the Prayers of Intercession - sorry about that - but it does resume!)
It's the thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost and the last Sunday of August. Welcome to our service!
Welcome to our service for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost. (We apologize for some unevenness in the sound. We know how it happened and will avoid it in future!)
It's the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost. Welcome! and may the Lord bless and keep you.
Welcome! Whether you've worshipped with us before or this is your first time. We're really pleased you're here. Note that this is the audio from our online video service. But as we move to 'real world' services, we'll drop the online video and our online services will move to the podcast exclusively. So if it's sometimes not entirely clear what's going on, that's why. But as we move to the podcast-only (on-line) format, that will change. Thanks for being with us - and bearing with us - in these difficult times. And God bless you.
Welcome and thank you for singing and praying and hearing the Word with us! It's the ninth Sunday after Pentecost.
Here we are at the last Sunday of July, already! We're glad to have you with us.
Welcome to our service! Unfortunately you can hear the air conditioning during the sermon and the blessing. We apologize. Next time, we'll turn it off!
