Happy Thanksgiving from Canada! It's a blustery holiday Monday, but the skies have finally cleared after days of rain and cloud. I set out for a run through the forest at Mount Douglas, recording both audio and video while passing fellow hikers, dogs, and families enjoying the crisp autumn air. Along the way, I reflected on the Royal Victoria Marathon held yesterday and chatted with a few locals about their Thanksgiving plans. Surrounded by the sheltering trees and golden light, I felt deeply grateful for nature, friendship, and the freedom to explore the trails that inspire me
Happy Thanksgiving! We give thanks for the profound connections that bind us all, from the animal kingdom to the forest floor. We honor the legendary Dr. Jane Goodall and her revolutionary work with chimpanzees, and dive deep into the groundbreaking research of Dr. Suzanne Simard, the visionary behind the Mother Tree Project. Discover the "wood-wide web," a secret underground network where trees talk, share resources, and nurture their young. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! This week, we have a special guest, Paul McNamara, who spent many years working undercover operations in Canada, and has since become a target of controversial police investigative tactics. He discusses his experiences with Paul and Adam, including how trying to get a good deal on a pool lead to suspicions that he was a spy. Also covered this week, the latest 'update' from the Nova Scotia Mass Casualty Commission's implementation committee, a former confidential informant suing the RCMP for placing him in a vulnerable position when he was 17, an appeal decision on a new defense to a refusing to take the breathalyzer, and the Jays-Yankees series.

Happy Thanksgiving! This weekend is a time for faith, family, food, fellowship and football. Thanksgiving is also a time to fight judging one another. Judging one another poisons our fellowship with our family and friends. This is what we will learn from Romans 14:1-12 this Sunday. I hope you have a great weekend and are thankful to God for all that He has given you, especially His Son Jesus.
Happy Thanksgiving! This Sunday we'll be taking a pause from our Fall series to look at Psalm 100 - the thanksgiving Psalm. It'll be a great time of reflection as we learn what it means to give thanks to God.
Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!Jack, Lynne and Matt McFarland get Agricultural on this week's episode of The Growing Season. Turkey's, Thanksgiving, loosening the belts and much more start the show off in style. Pumpkin spice and pies are holiday favourites that Matt tees off on. Matt gets ranty with Jack about cranberries. Do cranberries grow in water? Why are they harvested this way? Jack thinks he may need cranberries. The three sisters!!! What the heck are we talking about? Lynne discusses an indigenous city and how aboriginal peoples lived off the land. Corn and blueberries featured prominently in ancient diets. Low oxygen, nitrogen and apple storage. You'll find out something really cool. The European settlers interacted with the land in a very different fashion than the indigenous peoples. The McFarlands compare and contrast. Matt discusses a really interesting way to pull a stump out of the ground. Speaking of the ground, Jack talks about migrating rocks. Dynamite and stumps. BOOM! Matt tells a story that Jack has told 92,000 times. WHAT IS A SPRING HOUSE? It's really cool, actually. What fruits and veggies should be stored together and which ones shouldn't be. Tune in. Looking to book a consult for your property? We'd love to help. CLICK HERE.What is a TGS Tiny Garden? CLICK HERE.Subscribe to The Growing Season podcast. CLICK HERE.
In this episode of The Line Podcast, recorded before the Thanksgiving long weekend on October 10, 2025, your hosts Matt Gurney and Jen Gerson put forward something of an unusual episode. This episode ofThe Line Podcast is brought to you by Forestry For The Future. Canada's housing crisis demands bold, scalable solutions. Build Canada Homes is an opportunity to leverage Canadian wood in modern construction. Wood-based methods like mass timber and modular construction can significantly reduce build times, waste, and carbon emissions, while supporting local economies. Expanding building codes, streamlining approvals, and prioritizing domestic wood in federal projects could double demand and foster job creation in rural and northern communities.Despite trade challenges and market volatility, a partnership between industry and government is vital to stabilize the sector, enhance competitiveness, and deliver innovative, sustainably sourced Canadian wood products for homes across Canada and abroad. With capacity growing across provinces, stable demand and predictable financing are key to unlocking the sector's potential. We need to Build Canada Homes with Canadian wood. To learn more, visit ForestryForTheFuture.ca.They start with a quick recap of some of the big political stories of the week. Mark Carney's trip to Washington is at the top of the list — how it went, what it means, and why, even though they don't have much criticism to offer, both Matt and Jen think time might not be on his side. This episode is also brought to you by the Daily Bread Food Bank. Working-age Canadians with disabilities experience poverty and food insecurity at twice the rate of the general population. The Canada Disability Benefit was designed to address this, but at $6.67 a day, it fails to cover essentials like food, housing, and medication. Daily Bread Food Bank and coalition partners urge the federal government to fully fund the benefit to lift those it was meant to serve out of poverty. Join thousands of Canadians calling for change to help ensure people with disabilities can live a life of dignity. Take action at FundTheBenefit.ca.From there, the podcast takes a different turn. In a long and emotional conversation, Matt and Jen talk about the ongoing Alberta teachers' strike. They start with the logistics — how Jen and her family are coping — but the conversation quickly deepens into why she's so angry and frustrated with everyone involved. She doesn't go into detail about her family's situation for privacy reasons, but what she says will likely resonate with thousands of parents who are just trying to do right by their kids in a system that refuses to make hard decisions because it would be politically incorrect to do so. The result? We are abandoning kids, and wasting their potential, because of adults who don't want to ever admit that they were wrong about anything. It's a different kind of segment — we admit it's not our usual content. But we think it's worth your time. And we suspect a lot of parents out there have been waiting to hear someone finally say it.Please enjoy, if that's the word, this unusual episode of The Line Podcast. Like and subscribe and all the rest. And just as a programming note, since it's the long weekend, we won't be publishing a dispatch. So we'll talk to you next week. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Happy Thanksgiving! And welcome to episode #450 of “Let's Talk Money with Dave and Reb”! Dave and Reb pause for a week to take time to share how gratitude has affected their financial journey with the Lord. They explore how trust and gratitude in God's faithfulness leads to peace even in times of lack and worry; encouraging listeners to look up in gratitude to God rather than sink into shame and despair. Tune in to the show today to hear their conversation which is sponsored by Financial Discipleship Canada and notmine.ca—a ministry to the body of Christ that voices and encourages dialogue and new conversations regarding finance and discipleship. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, whenever you are. It's the finale of Grease: Rise Of The Pink Ladies where we and all the season's guests come together and give thanks to the show we just watched and/or to the fact that it is over. Most guests don't show up, but Lauren Flans and Hary Nelson had enough unfinished business with Grease, 1954 and/or the abandoned dischord for the show that they did.

"Peace through strength" — it's a phrase heard frequently after the U.S. attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. These days, "peace through strength" has become associated with President Donald Trump. But an earlier President also famously embraced the doctrine of "Peace through Strength." Happy Thanksgiving as well to Captain Pat Hannifin and all of the sailors aboard the USS Ronald Reagan. Great ship. Your ship's motto is one that we embrace every day: "Peace Through Strength". That's what the motto is, and we have that motto at home. Everywhere the Seventh Fleet sails, the USS Ronald Reagan is an enduring symbol of American might, American strength, American power and, really, American goodness, in so many ways. That was President Trump on Thanksgiving in 2018. Speaking to the crew aboard the USS Ronald Reagan — and noting the ship's motto — "Peace Through Strength." What is the history of the USS Ronald Reagan? How did "Peace Through Strength" become associated with the Nimitz-class nuclear powered aircraft carrier? And which other presidents and politicians have cited "Peace Through Strength" when talking about the USS Ronald Reagan? Find out in the latest episode of C-SPAN's podcast "The Weekly." On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, we bring you the Best Of Mark Levin on Thanksgiving. Charles Barkley is 100% correct – Democrats “lost because y'all stupid” and they didn't have a plan. Democrats didn't have a plan for inflation or the border. The Democrats didn't give Americans a reason to vote for them. Then there's the media – CNN, MSNBC, the View, and late-night shows which continue to trash Americans and these massive media corporations allow them to spew it. If they continue their ratings will tank. Also, there's a clear campaign to destroy Pete Hegseth and his reputation. But Democrats had no problem when John Kennedy nominated his brother to Attorney General, without any serious legal experience. These attacks on Trump's cabinet selections are not attacks on them – they are attacks on Trump. Later, the Drill Down exposes the collusion of the Virginia Attorney General's office with radical animal rights activists. These awful organizations devoured what was a legit movement. Finally, Caroline Glick calls in to explain that the left wing in Israel is trying to oust PM Benjamin Netanyahu before President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January. They'll stop at nothing to stop Netanyahu from achieving total victory over its enemies. Finally, President Biden and Sen Chuck Schumer are trying to ram through as many lifetime appointments to the circuit and district courts as possible. Democrats want their radical agenda, which was just rejected by America, to continue through the judiciary. They are using the unelected part of government to advance their cause. Democrats are also trying to prevent President-Elect Trump from getting his key cabinet appointments. This is the team Trump wants and needs to get. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving! Pivot is off for the holiday, so we're bringing you an episode of Decoder with Nilay Patel. Nilay is talking about something we've discussed a lot on Pivot — Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Tesla. How is the CEO of an electric car company, an outspoken advocate for combating climate change, going to square his support for Trump and a Republican policy agenda centered on climate change denial? Verge transportation editor Andy Hawkins joins to make sense of it all, and to figure out how Elon and Tesla may still benefit, even if Trump's climate policy reversals and tariffs lay waste to the auto industry. But just behind the players are the real stars of the show: blue and white pom-poms accenting sparkly white cowboy boots dancing to the sound of “Thunderstruck” for 41.8 million viewers at home. We're talking, of course, about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders—who you may have seen in the viral Netflix documentary, America's Sweethearts—which is what today's episode is all about. Why, you might ask, would we talk about cheerleading on Honestly? Because as we watched the documentary, we realized that the show is about a lot more than cheerleading, football, faith, patriotism, and quintessential American culture. Yes, it's about those things—and yes, it's a reality show about making a very competitive dance team—but really, it's a master class in leadership and excellence. So today, we're talking with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders' director, Kelli Finglass. We ask her how she became the master operator she is today, leading an organization just as well as—or perhaps better than—a Fortune 500 company, how she created a culture of dedication and precision, and most importantly, what it takes today to build a phenomenal team. It's a different kind of episode than you're used to these days—no talk about Matt Gaetz or Elon Musk—but it's an all-American conversation for an all-American day. And it couldn't be more fitting and fun. We hope you enjoy it. If you liked what you heard from Honestly, the best way to support us is to go to TheFP.com and become a Free Press subscriber today. Start your holiday weekend with a little dose of us! We are sad about the ending of VPR. Though it didn't have a great last season, we grew up with them and have feelings of nostalgia! We chat our thoughts on Wicked too (spoiler alert: we loved it!). Another week of RHOBH, another episode knocking it out of the park! The women are not following the Kyle Richards Playbook this year. Dorit having no time for anymore grace and "finding her voice" (lol) is enthralling! Sutton telling Kyle to file for divorce while Kyle thinks she's not like other women. Maurice and the DWTS desk photo. "Single PK" and Dorit. WOW. This episode truly had it all.
