Host: Sian Willoughby Guests: Renee and Priscilla - Vice-President and President of Dancing Goddesses “It’s a really powerful thing to be connected to your body and understand what it does. It’s not just about what it looks like or the aesthetics of it. It’s about ‘I can do these amazing things, look at how much I’m having fun with my body’, and owning that. I think there’s so many comments around women’s bodies and what they can and can’t do, that it’s really positive to be in a supportive environment.” In this episode of Soapbox, Sian chats to Renee and Priscilla about Dancing Goddesses, their organization that aims to bring the joy of dance to women who might otherwise be physically or financially excluded from participating. Together they discuss the warmth and closeness of the belly dancing community, the meaning of inner strength, and the value of coming together through dance. For more information about the work Dancing Goddesses do, visit http://www.dancinggoddesses.org.au/ or look them up on Facebook.
