Spirit of 2012 is the London 2012 Legacy Charity established by the Big Lottery Fund with a National Lottery grant of £47 million. In total we have awarded £29.5 million to projects across the UK which have reached 2.8 million people and trained, deployed and supported 32,000 volunteers.

On October 25 2017, Spirit of 2012 held a Summit to launch our first legacy report. Our legacy report showcased the findings of the impact of our first free years of funding. Martin was Head of Ceremonies for London 2012. For many people the Opening Ceremony was the moment they first realised how special the London 2012 Games would be. Nancy Hey set up the world’s first 'What Works Centre for Wellbeing' that aims to understand what governments, business, communities and individuals can do to increase wellbeing. She is an experienced policy professional and coach who has worked with the UK’s top Civil Servants to introduce wellbeing into public policy. Wellbeing is one of Spirit’s core outcomes, and we take a keen interest in the What Works Centre.
