In September 2025, Peter Mandelson — then the United Kingdom's Ambassador to the United States — was dismissed (effectively recalled and fired) by Prime Minister Keir Starmer after revelations about his longstanding social relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein surfaced. Emails published earlier that year showed Mandelson had maintained contact with Epstein after Epstein's 2008 conviction and had expressed supportive sentiments toward him, which diplomats said was far deeper than what had been known at the time of his appointment. Those communications raised questions about his judgment and suitability for the high-profile diplomatic post, prompting Starmer to remove him from the position immediately. In February 2026, the scandal escalated when authorities arrested Mandelson on 23 February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. This followed the release of internal documents and emails from the U.S. Department of Justice's Epstein files suggesting he may have shared sensitive government information with Epstein during his time in government in 2009–10. As part of the fallout, Mandelson resigned from the House of Lords and the Labour Party, and British police executed search warrants at his residences as part of a criminal investigation. His arrest reflects widening legal and political consequences from the Epstein file revelations that have also embroiled other high-profile figures.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com
When a former CIA officer and the ex-Chief of MI6 agree something is coming — pay attention. This week, Sir Richard Dearlove, former Chief of MI6, and guest co-host Baroness Ayesha Hazarika are joined by Mike Baker, a former CIA covert operations officer with nearly two decades running intelligence operations in the world's most hostile environments. Together, they give an unvarnished assessment of the three crises dominating global affairs right now: whether US military action against Iran is imminent and what it would actually target; why Putin has little incentive to end the war in Ukraine and what could change his calculus; and why Cuba, just 90 miles from Florida, may be closer to collapse than anyone is reporting. Hosted by Sir Richard Dearlove (former MI6 Chief) and guest co-host Baroness Ayesha Hazarika (House of Lords). Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Former British cabinet minister and former ambassador to the United States Peter Mandelson, widely known as Lord Mandelson, was arrested on February 23, 2026, by the Metropolitan Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office as part of an investigation linked to revelations in the newly released Jeffrey Epstein files. Authorities allege that while serving as a senior UK government minister in 2009–2010, Mandelson may have passed sensitive UK government information to Epstein and maintained a relationship with him even after Epstein's 2008 conviction. The arrest follows searches of his homes in London and Wiltshire and emerged amid growing public and political scrutiny over Mandelson's ties to Epstein, which had already cost him his ambassadorial post and led to his resignation from the House of Lords and the Labour Party. After being taken into custody and questioned by police, Mandelson was released on bail pending further investigation, with the Metropolitan Police confirming that he must return for further enquiries as the case continues. Under UK law, misconduct in public office is a serious criminal offence, and Mandelson denies any wrongdoing. His arrest and bail come as the government faces intense pressure over its earlier decision to appoint him ambassador despite known concerns about his Epstein connections, and as lawmakers and critics demand further transparency and accountability in the unfolding investigation.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Former UK ambassador Peter Mandelson released on bail | AP News

Send a textWhat if the “king of terrors” isn't the final word on your story? We open the book of Job where fear, loss, and accusation collide—and set that against the greater claim that Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. When Bildad thunders about brimstone and erasure, we hold his verdict up to Scripture's witness about providence: God governs all things, even death, without becoming their author. That single truth reshapes how we see suffering, friendship, and the quiet strength of faith.Together we explore what ancient believers knew about Satan and why their restraint matters today. Instead of theatrics, the Bible gives us a steadier practice: submit to God, resist the devil, and trust the One who holds the leash. Isaiah's imagery of terror, pit, and snare exposes how evil falls into its own traps, while Job's grief reveals how careless counsel can wound deeper than disaster. We contrast Bildad's quick judgments with the patient, prayerful posture of a friend who believes providence can carry a soul through silence and storm. We also follow a surprising thread to Barabbas, sedition, and the way power bends truth in public places. That lens helps us read our moment without despair, seeing how the cross unravels both human schemes and hopelessness. And at the center stands a question every heart recognizes: who remembers you? The thief's two words—remember me—outweigh a stadium of applause. Divine remembrance outlasts headlines, monuments, and every attempt to measure worth by what can be lost.If you've ever been misread in your pain, if you've wondered whether your name will matter when the noise dies down, this conversation offers a different anchor. Don't be a Bildad. Be the friend who resists easy answers, prays with real gravity, and trusts the King who overrules terror with mercy. If this resonated, share it with someone who needs gentler counsel, subscribe for more Scripture-rooted conversations, and leave a review to help others find the show.Meet Me in the Word: A Daily DevotionalThoughtful reflections for Jesus-Followers Monday through Friday.Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!

At its peak, the BRICS coalition of economies – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – was seen as a serious attempt to move away from the United States dollar and the domination of Western economic institutions like the World Bank, Group of Seven (G7), and International Monetary Fund (IMF). But BRICS members have different political agendas, and new forces are at play, argues economist Jim O'Neill, a member of Britain's House of Lords. O'Neill, who coined the term "BRIC" 25 years ago, tells host Steve Clemons that the US's economic policies may be the driver of its own decline, coupled with the economic rise of China and India. The UK's Online Safety Bill has been in the pipeline for a number of years now, and is currently being considered by the House of Lords. The proposed bill has caused a lot of controversy due to its broad ambitions and a perceived threat to people's privacy. But it's been welcomed in some quarters, and in particular by children's charities like the NSPCC, who say that it's needed to tackle grooming and child sexual abuse online. Indeed, the NSPCC says such measures are long overdue and that over 3,500 online sex crimes are likely happening each month that the bill is delayed. How does online grooming happen, and who are the typical targets ? Does this only happen online? How can you identify a child victim ? In under 3 minutes, we answer your questions ! Worship with us 9 + 11am 390 N 400 E Bountiful, UT 84010 https://www.flourishinggrace.org/plan-your-visit As we continue our verse by verse journey through the Gospel of Luke, we arrive at the triumphal entry of Jesus in Luke 19:28 to 44. This passage is often read on Palm Sunday, yet Luke highlights specific details to answer a defining question for every person: what kind of King is Jesus? In a world where leadership shapes families, workplaces, communities, and nations, Luke invites us to consider who is truly in charge and who is shaping our lives. We may assume we are fully in control of our decisions, priorities, and identity, but every day we are influenced by voices, desires, fears, pressures, and countless messages that compete for authority over our hearts. The question is not whether something or someone is ruling us, but what kind of ruler it is and whether it can actually give us life. In this sermon, Pastor Benjer shows how Luke reveals Jesus as a King with real authority. Jesus intentionally fulfills Old Testament prophecy as He enters Jerusalem, including the promise from Zechariah that Israel's King would come humble and riding on a donkey. Jesus directs His disciples to a colt that has never been ridden, and His words, “The Lord has need of it,” point to His rightful claim over all things. The crowds respond with praise, quoting Scripture and celebrating Jesus as King, while the Pharisees recognize the danger of His claim. Jesus is not merely a teacher with good ideas, but the promised Messiah, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords. Luke makes clear that Jesus has authority not only over a city and a moment in history, but over creation itself. Luke also reveals Jesus as a King who is humble. While earthly rulers enter with power displays and war horses, Jesus comes on a donkey. He does not enter Jerusalem for conquest, but for sacrifice. His path to victory goes through the cross. This confronts our expectations because we often want a Messiah who confirms our strength, protects our preferences, and defeats our enemies on our timeline. Yet Jesus redefines power through surrender, calling His followers to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him. True strength in the Kingdom of God is marked by humility, service, obedience, and love. The way of Jesus challenges cultural definitions of greatness and invites us to lay down our rights for the good of others, beginning in our homes, relationships, workplaces, and communities. Finally, Luke shows Jesus as a King who saves. As Jesus approaches Jerusalem, He does not posture in anger. He weeps. His tears reveal His heart for the people who are about to reject Him. He longs for them to know “the things that make for peace,” not merely the absence of conflict, but reconciliation with God. Jesus warns of the consequences of refusing His visitation, and the passage shows both the seriousness of judgment and the tenderness of His mercy. Jesus came to save, not to condemn. His authority is not cold control, and His humility is not weakness. Together they reveal the heart of a Savior King who willingly lays down His life so that sinners can be forgiven, made new, and brought home to God. If you are exploring faith, this message is an invitation to consider Jesus honestly. Either He is the promised King who came to die and rise again, or He is not. If you are a Christian, this passage calls you to yield every area of life to His authority and to follow His way of humility. Flourishing Grace Church exists to help ordinary people encounter an extraordinary God, and we pray this sermon strengthens your faith, steadies your heart, and leads you to trust King Jesus more deeply.
In this podcast episode, we examine five key reasons for Jesus Christ's return to earth: The Bible emphasizes this promise repeatedly, with more than 1,800 references and 21 direct mentions from Jesus Himself. He will return as King to judge the nations, make all things right, and establish His righteous rule. He will come to Israel to deliver and restore her, setting up His Messianic Kingdom. Scripture also promises a new heaven and a new earth, where the curse will be removed and God's purposes fully realized. His return will be visible to the entire world—He first came as a sacrificial Lamb, but He will come again in glory as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Though some question the delay, the Bible reminds us that God's judgment is certain, and as we study Scripture and observe the signs, it is clear that His coming is near. Listen as Bill and Annette share in-depth biblical insight about the second coming of Jesus Christ. The Lords Wisdom by Carl Albrecht
Why did the High Court quash the Home Secretary's decision to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation? And what are the prospects of the Home Secretary winning on appeal? With Ken Macdonald KC refraining from public comment on public order/protest issues while he leads the independent review commissioned by Shabana Mahmood into existing public order and hate crime legislation, Tim Owen KC is joined by freelance criminal justice and policing expert Danny Shaw to discuss the background to Yvette Copper's June 2025 decision to proscribe Palestine Action and the reasoning which led the High Court to conclude that the proscription decision was unlawful both on the basis it was made in breach of the published policy governing terrorist proscription as well as being a disproportionate interference with freedom of expression and the right to assembly under the ECHR. See here for a link to the Judgment https://www.judiciary.uk/judgments/huda-ammori-v-secretary-of-state-for-the-home-department-3/ See also Professor Mark Elliott's commentary on the prospects of a successful appeal - https://publiclawforeveryone.com/2026/02/13/the-high-courts-judgment-in-the-palestine-action-case/ Tim and Danny also discuss Shabana Mahmood's radical proposals to reorganise policing in England and Wales and examine why the former Home Secretary Yvette Cooper was opposed to the “distraction” of major policing reform. Finally they reflect on the scathing critique contained in the Public Accounts Committee's January 2026 Report into the Ministry of Justice's March 2022 decision to commit to spending £4m a year of taxpayer's money on HMP Dartmoor (an empty prison that it cannot use due to contamination by radon gas) at a time when the permanent secretary was Dame Antonia Romeo. -- Covering the critical intersections of politics and law in the UK with expert commentary on high-profile legal cases, political controversies, prisons and sentencing, human rights law, current political events and the shifting landscape of justice and democracy. This is where that godly sorrow leads to genuine repentance for sinning against the righteous God and there is a change of heart, we change our mind and God changes our hearts and regenerates us from the inside out.B. BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOUR SINS, WAS BURIED, AND THAT GOD RAISED JESUS FROM THE DEAD. Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and that God raised Jesus from the dead. This is trusting with all of your heart that Jesus Christ is who he said he was.C. Every single person who ever lived since Adam will bend their knee and confess with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings.
In a world where few people may know you exist and fewer still may even care, it is comforting to know that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords sees you and knows you. The House of Lord's amendments to England and Wales assisted dying bill might be causing a constitutional crisis. Lords have tabled 1,277 amendments—which is a record for any equivalent bill in history - and over half of those came from just seven peers. This has led to accusations of "delaying tactics" or "filibustering" to run down the clock deliberately and run this bill off the road. Although some of these amendments have been described as unworkable, repetitious and unnecessary; others reflect serious, legitimate concerns, around the prevention of coercion, how to identify victims of domestic abuse and the broader impact on the disabled community, and whether it's wise to introduce assisted dying while palliative and social care services are so stretched. 300 territories around the world, allow physician assisted death - so we asked experts from Canada and California to reflect on those objections, and if there is any evidence of this issues arising where they live. James Downer is Professor and Head of the Division of Palliative Care at the University of Ottawa, and Catherine Forest is clinical associate professor of family medicine at the University of California San Francisco. Reading list: Scrutiny of the assisted dying bill is vital but obstruction in the House of Lords could mean it never becomes law
Caroline Wheeler of The Sunday Times assesses the latest developments at Westminster. After a week in which the Prime Minister had to fight for his political survival, Caroline speaks to Labour grandee, Alan Johnson, a Cabinet minister in both the Blair and Brown governments, and Peter Hyman, a former strategist for Tony Blair when he was in Number Ten.In the wake of the scandal around Peter Mandelson, and amid concerns about the slow progress of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, a new cross-party group is calling for 'wholesale' reform of the House of Lords. One of those involved is Carmen Smith of Plaid Cymru, the youngest member of the House of Lords. Lord Young of Acton, a Conservative peer and founder of the Free Speech Union, is concerned that rule changes on stripping peerages could be used to suppress speech.Ahead of the Government's Schools White Paper, which is likely to include controversial reforms to special educational needs provision, Caroline speaks to Jo Hutchinson of the Education Policy Institute about how the system might be changed. And, to discuss what it's like inside Number Ten at moments of political crisis, Caroline brings together Guto Harri, former Director of Communications to Boris Johnson, and Luke Sullivan, former political director for Sir Keir Starmer.

Daily Dose of Hope February 13, 2026 Scripture: I Corinthians 16 Prayer: Holy God, We come before you on this Friday with humility and gratefulness. We praise your powerful name. Thank you, so much, Lord, that you came to earth to dwell among us and show us a different way of being. Help us to pay attention to your example. Help us to be more loving and more merciful in all we do. Help us to be even but a small reflection of you. You are King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Thank you, Jesus. Amen. Welcome to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope daily Bible reading plan. We have been journeying through the apostle Paul's pastoral letters in chronological order. Today, we are finishing our fourth letter – I Corinthians. Our text is I Corinthians 16, the final chapter of this letter. For the most part, Paul gives practical advice and wisdom. He speaks of taking up a collection for the greater church and of welcoming Christian workers who will be coming to their area soon. It's right after this call to welcome and respect the new leaders that Paul makes this statement, "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong. Do everything in love." I think we would do well to also heed this advice. This idea of being on guard or being alert seems to suggest that we are in a battle not just with earthly powers but also against the power of evil. There are forces in this world that work against Jesus Christ and as his followers. The Corinthians (and us for that matter) should be aware, alert, and on guard. How easy it was for the Corinthians to drift and get distracted. Umm...sound familiar? Remember whose and who you are might be another way to say it; stay focused on the things of God! Then, there is a call to be courageous and strong. We know from the previous chapters that the Corinthians were arrogant and complacent. Paul is asking them to have courage and do what God has called them to do. Again, I'm thinking Paul could just as easily be talking to the modern church. We have tradition, we have beautiful worship, we have access to all kinds of knowledge, but we don't have courage. This is starting to get personal. Might I add that this kind of strength has nothing to do with physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy weights. This is an internal strength that comes only from God. Finally, Paul says to do everything in love. Yes, being on guard, standing firm, and having courage and strength are critical but they are all pointless if not done with love. Paul is not calling the Corinthians to use aggression or self-assertion (remember, this is how the Corinthian church viewed Christian leadership). Rather, Paul is saying to exhibit all these qualities while demonstrating the love and grace of Jesus. That means, no bullying people to Jesus, no shaming people to Jesus, no manipulating people to Jesus, but only loving people to Jesus. Blessings, Pastor Vicki
Hark and well met, noble Cabalists! Return ye now to the dust-laden tomes and candlelit halls of the Dungeon Master's Ludus, that ancient library of wisdom and whispered lore. On this day, the Lords gather in solemn counsel to ponder a matter most sacred to all who bear the mantle of Storycrafter - the elusive spark of inspiration. Come then, and let us speak of where ideas flare bright as dragonfire bringing forth sagas of brave heroes, dark ruins, and fearsome beasts.
PMQs today and – as predicted – Keir Starmer came out worst in a pretty unpleasant session. Kemi Badenoch pinned the Prime Minister on the continued Mandelson fallout and now the scandal over Matthew Doyle, the former No. 10 comms chief who – just four weeks after his ennoblement – Labour have already been forced to kick out of their party in the House of Lords, after it emerged he had campaigned for a friend charged with possessing indecent images of children. Once again, one of those mysterious appointments for which the Prime Minister is never responsible came back to haunt him in public – sound familiar? The response from the Prime Minister was to get increasingly shirty, including with Sir Ed Davey, who accused the PM of a ‘catastrophic lack of judgment' in his most punchy PMQs yet. Are we finally getting to understand the ‘real' Keir Starmer?James Heale speaks to Tim Shipman and Isabel Hardman.Produced by Oscar Edmondson.Become a Spectator subscriber today to access this podcast without adverts.
